Cyber Squid + Skeletron Army - first part of a Christmas Megaproject!

So I have a wildly overambitious project.

Using Bricklink Studio, I'm curating bespoke "sets" from my old collection and digitizing them to make instructions and box art. These are the first two I have packaged up, part of a "mad science army" theme for my youngest. The oldest will be getting a space pirate theme, which I'll be posting pictures of as progress continues.

If this goes well, Christmas will be unforgettable this year. Expect more madness soon!

Robo Shark is ready to swim! (And snack.)

Feeling confident to call this one done. Comes with flipper feet, life-vest armor, and swim-trunks hips concealing a rotating ratchet joint, as well as a power level scanner for the right eye. It should fit right in with the classic-adjacent Space Pirates theme I'm building for my boys for Christmas.

In true idiot fashion, I designed this around the old school shark piece (2547) which has only a 1x2 connection point, and that caused a ton of headaches transitioning from a 3-wide torso to a 4-wide hip. I then discovered that the NEW shark piece has a 2x3 connection point on the bottom and would have avoided all this nonsense. Oh well.

Working on a harness for a shark-driven robot, and the cladding ended up looking like a life jacket.

The Space Pirates I'm putting together for my boys' Christmas felt like they needed a cool robot and I didn't want to clone Captain Metalbeard, so I started tinkering around with a shark head. I think it's turning out nice so far!

Edit: Completed build is here:

The Skeletron Bros continue. Right is complete, left in progress. What parts need tweaking?

Decided to lean into the different form language of the two torsos and ended up with a nice dichotomy of rounded/angular for the two mechs. The feet have undergone a massive upgrade via the "bracket sandwich" to keep them from coming apart easily in the hands of the intended users, and their kits are now more diversified. The one on the left has the closest to the original loadout but needs some work. What could I improve?

Which sword/arm works better? (Now with image 💀)

The foot, leg, torso and head heights are all identical, but the arm lengths alter the silhouette. Can't decide between the two, or if I should make them a mismatched pair. Any input?

Which sword/arm style works better?

Digitizing my old collection to make instructions and hand off to the boys as bespoke sets for Christmas. However, the urge to tinker is neverending...

Right one was the 1.0, left one was a followup to go alongside it; the leg to head heights are identical and have recently been upgraded with ratchet joints, but the arms really change the visual profile. I can't decide, so I'm throwing the query to you guys!

My 4 and 6 year olds are inheriting my armies for Christmas and I'm making instructions for everything.

Thirty skeletons isn't too much for a budding young megalomaniac, right?

Clip attachment for 2541 Boat Mast Rigging?

Trying to assemble a pirate ship MOC. I have four pieces of 2541 - Boat, Mast Rigging Long 27 x 5. However I can't seem to get it to attach onto a clip tile to make it hinge to set the angle and meet up with the clip at the top of the mast. Any advice?

(Broad request) Pranking my boss tommorrow, need a 3440x1440 of something reasonably inappropriate. Any suggestions?

Boss gets back from vacation tommorrow and we thought it'd be funny to change his wallpaper to something silly to get a laugh out of him. He's a fellow millennial, so anime girls are a valid option. Any suggestions?

No mods for new missions?

300 hours, 100% completion. Playing the older games has my appetite for the smooth controls of AC6 up again but I don't have much to gain from another playthrough.

I've been trying to find mods that add extra missions or increased difficulty but have had little success so far. Any suggestions?

Map Design critique from a Driller main.

500+ hours on DRG, and Driller is my favorite class. The sheer technical achievement of the engine's omni-destructible terrain and the way it seamlessly integrates with the gameplay is an absolute marvel.

However, thus far in Rogue Core it hasn't quite panned out. The open, linear layouts and prefab constructions render most platforming tools moot except to reach Expenite veins up high, and the Drills are far more valuable as a melee weapon than anything else.

With that in mind, here are some things that would help Rogue Core feel a little more engaging in the digging and traversal department;

-*Alternate Routes*: This one's on the roadmap, which is encouraging. Having a short and dangerous path vs. a longer shortcut that requires terrain tools is a slam dunk tweak to make existing assets work better.

-*Irregular Prefab Obstacles:* Maybe sometimes ladders are broken, or hallways are jammed with crystals or biomass that have to be dug through. This small tweak forces players to improvise, which is the heart of DRG.

-*Verticality and Canyons:* As a mining facility, you can expect solutions to these to be in place already. As a *ruined* mining facility, you can expect they're busted - zipline trams with snapped cables or stuck gears, bridges that have been broken or tunnels through hills that have caved in.

-*Backtracking:* The value of traversal tools is doubled when you have to not only get somewhere, but get there and back again. The best way to introduce these types of fearures without them simply being skipped would be to tie them to progression; locked gates that require a certain key like a backup battery or access code to open so you can continue.

-*Static Enemies & Hazards:* Foes like Spitballers and Korlok Weeds demand terrain modification rather than fighting head-on. More of these would be welcome in future enemy pools - maybe including automated defenses gone rogue, which can be bypassed if you platform/dig/navigate to a secret override control.

Best original ROMs from itch or other distributors?

Been having a blast with an Android emulator and some turn based goodies for the GBC and GBA. However, I've grown curious about the rumors of homegrown retro-noveau games in the ROM format. Any recommendations?

Is Teval, the Balanced Scale fun to play against?

I've got some fat land-related rares sitting in my binder unused like [[Field of the Dead]] and [[Icetill Explorer]], but I've gotten tired of strict landfall as an archtype so the Gitrog deck I would put them in has been sitting unused for a while. However, Teval's unique tokens are perfect for a Druid tribal build I've been brewing.

So I'm curious, players and opponents of Teval decks - is it fun to play against? Do the graveyard shenanigans make for long turns, or is it as straightforward as it looks from my view? Looking for feedback before I commit to the build.

Got a FFTA romhack running on my phone and now I'm having class decision paralysis.

After much struggle, I managed to load the overhaul by Maeson and am ready to start my new adventure. The patch is well regarded and renders much of the wiki's advice moot, though I've kept the original combo attacks and item-based ability learning.

My problem is I'm torn on how best to start my team! I love Bangaa, so getting a Dragoon is a high priority, and I love Blue Mage, but if I make my dorky protagonist one then he won't get to wear the dopest outfit in the game.

Help a brother out! What can I do to set myself up for success?
