Before I get an alignment...

while we're here, anyone know a shop in central jersey that can do an alignment on it? I could probably swing it but if its not going to cost a lot i'd rather save the time

I'm still trying to chase some slop in the front end but it's at the point IDK if it's normal or not? Have about an eighth of an inch of rock in the front wheels forward-back but not up-down. Only thing I can think of is tie rod ends but even then they didn't seem like they're moving enough to produce that?

Replaced the center steering bushing (ordeal) and MAN is the steering world's better than I even knew it should be lmao.

I do also need CV boots but IDK, maybe I just get axles. Doubt they were ever replaced and the trucks got 175k...

Utter defeat

stupid fuckin bushing

stupid fuckin rust

at least I got to return the press after it didn't work. Trying to not spend $500 on a new arm

More pics of tt2 pigtail

Sounds better than I hoped, not "angry neighbors" loud and actually quieter than my rotted out stock exhaust was. Couldn't reuse the heat shield since it was so rotten and cracked (only had 2 bolts snap and 1 I gave up on) but all the other shields as well as the exhaust hangers are ok if anyone wants them.

Also fun was buying the rounded nut sockets at HF which I'm sure work well but naturally the bolts I used them on just snapped off after making a half turn.

Thankfully the very last bolt had literally nothing left under it, so I just pulled the heat shield off over it

Deciding order of operations for my TT2..

Step 1 is obviously all the mechanical stuff. Been [mostly] easy so far for a 180k km truck but im doing the center steering bushing, replacing the oil pressure sensor that fell off, and replacing the valve gasket as soon as those all come in. Restore and Protect oil changes for the forseeable future to cut down deposits as well as running techron/seafoam through it religiously lol

Step 2, rust. 2 small 2" holes in the floor, some bubbling under the front mudflaps i need to wirebrush and just spray over, and a hole in the bottom of the rear gate. Idk if im going to buy a welder and try to get some snot welds on it or just see what a body shop wants to do those though.

Step 2.5 [or whenever i feel like it because it should be quick] I might hit the wheels with some spray on paint stripper to get off the bodge spray job someone in japan thought it needed to have lmao

Step 3, take the bed off, hit all of the underside with some tractor paint and the chassis with anything black and rust oriented before it gets beyond light surface stuff, then put the bed back and bedline it. Maybe have the lumber stay blasted and powder coated if that doesnt cost a million dollars? The trapdoor has a small rust hole in the engine side but tbh, whatever.

Step 4, maybe get someone to do some paintless dent removal. Got the side drags pictured and theres a small dent in the nose behind the M

Would be nice to add a head unit and install some speakers one day too but we'll see about that

Tips for getting old plugs out of a TT2 head?

Maybe theres a magic bullet besides "spray it with kroil every time i park it" lol but my plugs are sized in the head. Knowing how the rest of the engine and truck look i'd bet the farm they're the factory plugs and considering the deposits in the engine... itll be a while before seafoam or techron get that all freed up.

Any tips appreciated!

Purchase permit submitted.... what should i look for in a compact?

We'll see how long woodbridge takes for it but since i'll have some waiting i can start researching. I've got 2 full size 9mm already but i want to get something this time i can use for a ccw down the road. What shops around have better selections of compacts or what specifically should i look for? Its hard to gauge in-store just handling them but tbh anything smaller than a glock 45 will be what im looking for lol

Think spray-on paint stripper will get my wheels cleaner looking?

someone in japan rattle canned these rims at some point and i'm tired of them. Going back and forth between wanting to strip them and (maybe) polish or just rattle can over it again but not sure what i want or what would work easily.

thinking i might pick up a set of steelies for a bit to roll around on while i toy with them

Checking 1999 TT2 AC today - tips?

My trucks AC isnt feeling like it should in this heat we're getting in NJ, going to check it out this afternoon. Any tips? My starting guess is a leaking schrader valve and i'll go on from there.

Assuming i find a leak and fix it, what refrigerant do i need?

thoughts on old AC?

Just got a 1968/69 11,000btu Sears Coldspot AC out of my grandparents' attic and its doing a much better job cooling the place but wondering how much of a gain it might be to run this and save buying one vs getting a new one same size? Idk how much itll do to my bills but its a small shotgun house and i only have the thermostat turned to like the halfway point when i run it

my old whirlpool dryer is loud as hell, want to find replacement bearings or whatever is needed and ideally only take it apart once to replace everything it could need. Only paid $50 for it so dont mind putting the money toward it - any recommendations welcome
