"But most ordinary Cambodians at that time had no idea who was in charge of the country. The leaders of Democratic Kampuchea hardly “spoke in public or published information about the regime and its policies,”34 as they wanted to maintain secrecy to protec t themselves f rom part y enemies. Cambodians often only knew the name Angkar. The Khmer word Angkar can be translated as ‘organization’"

Good places to visit and see in Phnom Penh and southern Cambodia ?

Hello !

I study in Thailand and I will visit for around 8 days phnom penh and southern Cambodia, Kampot, Koh Kong (not Sihanoukville however I think, many people told me it is not good).

I know that I wanna to see the Khmer genocide museum and the royal Palace, and find some records of pre Khmer rock in Phnom Penh (Pan Ron) and street art scene.

But I want to see also some Archeological site/historical sites (before going to Siem Reap), chill places and chill natural places. I mean, I search some places least visited (mostly out of guides), I'm searching for things about history, cultures and anecdotes. What do you recommand ?

Also, have you good spot to eat good Khmer food around ? And good dish to recommand (not too spicy) ?

What children's literature, cinema and characters are quite popular in your country (and from your country) ?

I put some examples about various times.

- The first "The Little Prince" is a book written by Saint Exupery and I think a bit famous in some countries out of France.

- The second is Babar, children literature series, featuring a king elephant and his family.

- Asterix is the most popular character in french comics (asterix and Obelix) and the fiction takes places in Gaule (name of the region of where is France now, given by Jules Caesar).

- Club Dorothée was quite popular from my parents generation (80s) and was a TV show with songs and short animated movies.

- The last is in English "Good night children" featuring a bear and a Sandman (a copy of Sandmännchen from Germany I think).

I put examples originated from France but there are lots of other countries influence like Japan with Pokemon card and UK with Noddy.

However, I speak about when I was a child, so a decade ago and it changes for sure. I don't see really common references for the youth generation (from TVs, there are many offers of animated movies). I think child look more Youtube probably.

AJA que 2 présidents de la République d'un même pays ont fait partie du même groupe de musique

Les principales sources que j'ai trouvé sont malheureusement en anglais :

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tout-%C3%A0-Coup\_Jazz

https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/the-jazz-band-that-featured-two-presidents/

Why is the masculine form of some nouns in one language feminine in another language after translation ?

A sun which becomes le soleil in french, die sonne in german, le pont which becomes die brücke in german and el puente in spanish.

I learnt that Lera Boroditsky studied a bit the subject.

For France, I will say "Les guignols de l'info" that does not longer exist since 2018 but every french know this emission and it was one of the most popular. They publish compilation on their youtube channel.

I know that USA have Saturday Night Live and Canada "This hour has 20 minutes".

Does it exist some associations in Bangkok for homeless people or for orphanage in Lanna region where I can give some affairs ?

Hi,

I lived in Bangkok this year for study but I have to leave in some days and I don't want to throw the affairs I will not bring back at home so I want to give to homeless association or orphanage association in Lanna (I've seen some of them that's why I precised, but they work in the streets and not in headquarters so giving what I have can be difficult).

I have some clothes, one pillow, one mattress, some cough medicines and other drugs.

How are taboo words (swear words, vulgar terms) formed across languages, and is this universal ?

I’ve been wondering how taboo words (like swear words or vulgar expressions) are constructed in different languages, such as French and English.

Is there a linguistic or cultural process behind how certain words become “bad words” ? For example, why are some words related to bodily functions, sexuality, or religion often chosen as insults or profanity ?

Also, is this phenomenon universal across all languages and cultures, or are there languages that don’t really have this kind of taboo vocabulary in the same way ?

I’d be interested in both the linguistic structure and the cultural reasons behind it.

Can I Transfer a Project Without Losing Conversation History or Logic Structure ?

Hi guys, first, sorry to ask this another time, I'd like to transfer a project from one account to another. I'm just worried that by transferring it (if it's even possible from a free account), I'll lose the conversation history and the overall structure, and therefore I'm afraid it will impact the project's logic/consistency (I'm building a game with multiple modes, so I'm afraid it will break the project). What will the concrete effect be ? Can I duplicate the project in the original account so I can redevelop it from the result as it was before the transfer if the result after the transfer isn't satisfactory ?

How well does remixing a project work when switching accounts ?

Hello,

I want to transfer a project from a secondary account to my main account and remix it there so I can continue developing it from that account. I’m not using external databases like Supabase or anything similar.

My question is : will the development remain consistent after the remix when I ask Lovable to extend a feature or add more questions to a specific game mode ? (For context, I’m building quiz and geography games.)

Or will the development become inconsistent on my main account because it doesn’t have the full history of edits/conversations from the original account ?

If this workflow isn’t optimal, what solution would you recommend instead ?

What kind of geography or geography knowledge game do you feel is missing from your daily quiz routine ?

I create geography games and have been following this community for a while. I'd love to know what kind of geography games you'd like to see in the future, and I might be able to develop some myself
