Hi! I'm a 20F student from Georgia and I'm looking for someone to chat with (if you speak either French or Japanese I'd like to practice with you). I can help you with English, Italian, Georgian or Russian ;)))

I want to learn French because I'll need it for my future university studies, and I just personally think it's a beautiful language. I previously studied it in middle school and took an A2 course, but I'm still pretty much at the basics. I also would like to learn Japanese because I absolutely love how it sounds, I want to learn more about the culture, and I'm planning on visiting Japan later on. I learned Hiragana and Katakana a few months ago, but I need to review them after falling out of practice due to a busy schedule.

I'm an ambivert, a good listener, and a positive person who finds joy in simple things. I'm open to talking about almost any topic, especially art (love painting, sculpture, and architecture. I love drawing, sketching in general. I have lots of fun creating original characters heh), design, anime/manga, movies, cooking/culinary traditions, and music (don't have a fav genre, love any good song).

I'm also a huge animal lover. And I'm always interested in learning new facts about them (please feel free to share pictures of your pets).

I'd like to start by chatting via text and voice messages and eventually move on to voice calls once we're comfortable. Outside of Reddit, we can also chat on Discord, Telegram, or maybe WhatsApp.

I learned Hiragana and Katakana a few months ago, but with my studies and other things to do, I haven't been able to review as much as I wanted to, so I still kind of mess up when reading some words. I've tried learning some Kanji from videos and sites like WaniKani, but I feel like the most effective way for me to learn is through reading Japanese books, starting with children's books with a specifically selected level of Kanji and slowly working my way up in difficulty (I'd like to hear your suggestions in the dm chat).
