Getting my first tattoo and I’m freaking out.

So I’m getting two tattoos for my 21st birthday! Yay I guess. I’m really worried the pain will be too much and it’ll make me feel sick. I’m worried it’s like a blood draw, because those I get really nauseous. Does anyone have any advice about it? I got 9 days to prepare.

Tum alternative?

So I read somewhere that if you take tums to much, your body will over compensate and make more acid. Now I’m not sure how true that is but what I know is.. I’ve are ate a lot of tums this past month. If it’s my severe bile reflux or GERD I don’t know.

I’ve taken, tums, pepto, and I was on omeprazole and now I’m on pantoprozle. Currently trying out raft off of Amazon, it’s good for the most part. I’ve tried teas. Oh also wonder belly’s, I didn’t like those that much.

Is there any alternatives or is this all we got?

I’m really needing to burp and it’s not happening and I think my body is so used to tums now.

I feel like today’s the day it’ll happen but then again I feel like that everyday.

I ate these soy noodles at 11 Am and it is now almost 5pm. My throat just feels so unbelievably weird, and I can feel my medicine come up my throat. My acid reflux is so unbearable right now. I feel like it’s going to happen and Ive taken everything because of how I feel. I’m very scared but not? I don’t know it’s very confusing.

I hate acid reflux, I’ve taken tums, pepto, raft, and Pepcid and NOTHING is working.

Salivating and it’s freaking me out.

For the past 3 hours now my mouth has been salivating for no reason. I thought it was my gum so o threw it away but it feels like I’m swallowing buckets. I haven’t ate much because I’m scared. I associate a salivating mouth with throwing up and everything I look up says it’s the number 1 sign of throwing up. Nothing I do will make it stop.

How bad can anxiety affect you physically?v

Discussion post? Advice post? I don’t know.
Basically I’ve been dealing with health problems for years and it’s getting to the point now where I’ve had some doctors in the nicest way possible, say it’s all in my head. That what I’m feeling physically is real but the cause of it is my head.

For example, I suffer with emetophobia and GERD!! Love that combo. Anyways starting from… 3 weeks ago everytime I eat, I feel it come up my throat. I freak out and that could last for hours. Even when I don’t eat I feel it there, and I’m constantly checking and checking to see if it’s still there. Causing me to have really bad anxiety.

So my question is, how badly can anxiety really affect the body physically.

Literally was is happening.

Back story, I got my gallbladder removed June 3rd and can’t see the GI until September!!! Already seen my surgeon, ENT, family doctor and they can’t do anything.

Is it GERD? Is it bile reflux? Is it all in my head??

For the past… 3 weeks now I’ve been so unbelievably uncomfortable. No matter what I eat, I feel it come up my throat and sit at the back of my throat for HOURS. even with medicine a couple of times. It’s so unbelievably draining and I don’t want to eat. When I don’t eat I still feel like there is something stuck back there when I swallow.

I’ve tried everything!!! New meds that work higher than omeprazole, all the life style changes you can think of and forcing myself to like TEA.

My anxiety is off the charts due to my emetophobia. I’m so tired and so drained. Any advice or anyone knows what’s going on??

Why did no one wanna mention bile reflux to me. Actually help.

All I heard about when it came to getting your gallbladder removed as dumping syndrome.
I’m a month post op with no dumping syndrome but do you know what I do have? Bile reflux! Also my GERD got worst!!! I am so terrified to eat because there have been sometimes I trusted a burp and I felt acid in the back of my throat and everytime I eat I feel it come back up!! Doesn’t help I have emetophobia. So what on earth do I do about bile reflux? I saw my surgeon today and she prescribed some pills, but said I’ll have to wait to see my GI doctor.. I DONT SEE HER TILL SEPTEMBER.

How do I get over the 6 years of mental trauma?

I am a month post op, and I will say that I’ve been struggling. I don’t wanna go into every symptom and just wanna keep this quick.
For 6 years I have been living with a un-working gallbladder and within those 6 years my mental health declined, my ocd became more prominent and I developed severe emetophobia. Now just as a general question and dismissing my symptoms. How do you get better? How do you untrain your body from all years of expecting the absolute worst? Even with the simplest symptoms of acid reflux I am having full blown panic attack and I think what makes it worse is my body is fine. It doesn’t hurt and the nausea is all in my head but I can’t wrap my mind around the fact my body is okay. The years of Trauma have conditioned me and I don’t know how to uncondition.. that’s not even a word.

This is genuinely ruining my life and July 4th was my breaking point.

I’m 20f and having been struggling with health problems for 6 years now, and since the start of those health problems I got emetophobia.

I’ve always really not cared about getting sick, like as I kid I’d grab a pot and put a plastic bag in it, go into my room and call it a night. All of a sudden, during covid- I had stood up out of my bed and fainted. Ever since then I’ve been what I consider.. completely broken. All of a sudden I’m sick constantly and I’m now terrified. The amount of times I’ve woken my mom up crying because I was so scared.

What sucks was something was genuinely wrong and all the doctors said it was my anxiety. I can’t count the amount of pregnancy test and hospital visits I’ve had. Found out that I do not enjoy getting my blood drawn. The problem was this phobia that I couldn’t name yet was making my already existing anxiety 100x worse which was then making whatever was wrong with me 100x worse. I was dealing with a pretty abusive relationship at the time, as a junior and it wasn’t helping either. Cut to an ended relationship and me a senior still crying and sleeping in my mom’s room. Something was so wrong and I was growing more and more scared. At some point during all this I developed severe OCD.

After a bunch of test and multiple diagnosis(POTS, IBS-C, and GERD) new mental health problems, a bunch of poop pills and a bunch of doctors. I got tested for my gallbladder and it needed to be removed. Finally!! 6 years and it’s gonna be over!!

It’s been a month post op and my depression is getting worse. I’m 20 years olds and sleeping in my minds bed after waking her up sobbing from how terrified I am. My gallbladder was a problem but how I put it, I’m a puzzle piece and we found one of the pieces. We just got to find the rest and honestly.. I’m so mentally drained.

Let’s back track, after my gallbladder removed I was crying from the feeling of gas and it was having me walk around my dining room table to feel okay. I got a doctors appointment and she said I could try adding foods into my diet and throwing up was rare. My mom said it’s now time to un-train my body off all the trauma(this was before her puzzle piece speech.) now all of a sudden I’m having severe acid reflux and it’s scaring me. It started happening at the end of last month and isn’t getting better.

Now July 4th, I decided to go to my aunts for her party. I do my hair and my makeup. First time I’ve been out of my house is so long. Then I feel it, the acid reflux and the panic this stupid phobia causes me. I try to calm down and do everything, I take every medication and nothing is helping. I walk downstairs to my mom and just start sobbing. Telling her I feel so defeated and I just want to be able to live my life. She calms me down and starts looking online for things she can buy for acid reflux and talks to me about getting back in therapy. Fast forward, I’m in my room with my boyfriend. The fireworks are going to start in 10 and I had just finished soup. I wanted to go see fireworks and my boyfriend wanted to stay in my room. So I drive down to my grandparents house to walk with them with the fireworks. As I’m driving I see them already a good ways away from there house. I park my car and start running. I’m so close to them until I feel that feeling again. The fear, the doom. I yell multiple times for my grandmother but she didn’t hear me with the fireworks going off in random areas. I start sobbing, at this point I’m having a meltdown and I’m terrified. I was literally yelling for my grandma in the street and nothing. Not her fault I don’t blame her at all. I call my mom and she calms me down enough I can drive home. On the bright side of this I did get to see the fireworks, my mom called my grandfather and gave him a earful and my grandma came and got me AND my boyfriend to go see it all together.

But that fear and panic I felt, the fact that this phobia was making me miss things TWICE and had me a 20 year old sobbing so uncontrollably load in the street. Calling my mom and collapsing into my boyfriend’s arms like I child. It’s so defeating.
It’s ruining my life and it’s ruining all my relationships. I used to be a dancer and I loved being outside and now I’m terrified if I’m away from my home. I can’t leave without my bag of medicine and calming tools.

With my relationship, my boyfriend doesn’t know what to do and I’m never in the right space when I’m having a panic attack to tell him what I need. He gets so anxious when I start silently freaking out. He made a comment today that we can’t do anything because I’ll freak out or make excuses why I can’t because I say I’ll get sick. He didn’t mean it in a rude way but I cried.

I’ve cried everyday and the only way I can stay asleep is if I’m on sleep meds and sometimes those don’t even work.

I go back to work.. and no one understands. If anything I’m a liability when I work because they don’t know if I’ll be sitting somewhere having a freak out.

I don’t know what to do anymore. I’m chronically ill and my anxiety isn’t helping certainly not my panic attacks but most of the time I’m having them because of my health. I am constantly saying, “what if I throw up.” Or “I’m going to throw up.” Constantly with the what ifs!! I’ve even said to my mother mid panic attack I would rather die than deal with this or die than throw up. I have a OCD spiral every day. I’m constantly hyper aware of my body and monitoring it. I’m so scared to even eat, a sleeve of crackers might be okay but sometimes that even scares me.

If you’ve read this far I’m surprised. I’m too lazy to get up in journal so. My anxiety is so bad and this phobia is consuming my life. I don’t know what to do, I’m so exhausted and feel so alone all the time.

Acid reflux and stress.

So.. I gotta question. If acid reflux starts or gets worse from stress and anxiety, but my anxiety is happening because of acid reflux(I have emetophobia and also just really bad anxiety) how the actual freak are you supposed to get this under control? It’s a circle of death I tell you.

Post op and hunger feels different..?

I got my surgery June 3rd.. so almost a whole month ago. I started back on adhd medication that can sometimes make it so i don’t eat. I don’t know if it’s because I have no gallbladder(probably is) but hunger pains hit so different now. If I dont eat for a certain amount of time, I get in so much pain.
For example, right now. I woke up with some stomach pain and just assumed its cause I’m hungry. Then had a freak out because of emetophobia, crying while holding a banana because the pain became unbearable and now I’m laying in my moms bed eating said banana. Who would have thought, the pain has slightly gone away. Knock on wood.
This isn’t the first time i experienced this type of pain, and there’s sometimes I’m not freaking out and eat right away to avoid this strong pain.

Is this normal? Does anyone else experience this? Do I eat every 3 hours to avoid this or what?

Got Sun Burnt bad and now I’m scared

I went to the beach today and I put on a crap ton of sunblock! Used almost the whole tub, but alas my mom’s crunchy no chemical sunblock did not work. I am pink all over. I have my ac on and I feel cold but my body is radiating heat like a radiator. I am now terrified I am gonna throw up. I was reading online way to help sunburn and it not lead me down a bath on sun poisoning and the potential of throwing up. I am now uncomfortable and very scared.
I also got my gallbladder out on the 3rd of this month, I got sun burn near the scars and now I am terrified as well. My ocd is actually up thinking the worst.

Adding new foods with emetophobia.

I’m 8 days post op and have been strictly on a plain chicken, white rice, soup and crackers diet. I’ve had plain potatoes, watermelon and bananas. All the foods they tell you to eat.

Is now a safe time to add new foods into my diet? I’ve seen things that people have just went and ate whatever they want with no problem.

I worry myself to the point I freak myself out convincing myself I’ll throw up because of my phobia. Trying bland foods I even convince myself! Guess what? Haven’t thrown up, knock on wood.

I just wanna hear success stories or foods you tried at first to ease my mind.

How do I get this gas out please!!

I had my surgery on Wednesday in the AM and it is currently Saturday in the PM. I’ve had nothing but soup, water, bananas and crackers. My stomach feels so full and I know I got a shit ton of gas to the point it’s hurting. What do i do? I took Gas X like 10 minutes ago, I’ve had a heating pad on all day and I’m desperate. This is so uncomfortable!

3 day post op and I’m having mixed reviews.

Review like it’s a restaurant 😭
A little background cause you always gotta do one, I’ve(20F)been struggling with stomach problems for 6 years now. Severe nausea after I eat and some pain. It’s really taken a toll on me. I’ve had a endoscopy, colonoscopy, 2 test for my gallbladder and any other test you can think of. Last year my gallbladder was working 35% and last test a couple months ago was 18% so I had the surgery to remove it this past Wednesday. My doctor even said it’s only a 52% chance this would fix all my problems. Better than 50% I guess.
I also have really bad emetophobia, anxiety and OCD. Yes, this is relevant.

I still can’t wrap my head around it, like I got surgery? I don’t know if this will reassure anyone but it honestly wasn’t as bad as I convinced myself it would be. Waking up from the anesthesia was a bit rough, I wouldn’t stop moving around once I woke up and it hurt. You need to be able to eat, drink and pee before you leave the hospital. I lied about peeing and left early, luckily I can pee okay. I don’t recommend doing that, I just wanted to be home. Surgery only took like an hour? Not even. I slept right when I got home and kept waking up to eat and drink water. I walked some laps around my dining room table. Let me tell you, the shoulder pain is so bad. They tell you gas will travel up to your shoulders and you need to walk around. My friend calls them farting shoulders.

Yesterday though, everyone is telling me I’m overreacting and to go back to eating normally, the paper even says to resume regular diet. I ate some greasy chicken, I should’ve listened to myself and not others because I got very nauseous. I honestly started crying because I thought right away that this surgery was for nothing and I’m right back to where I was. For the past 6 years I’ve been dealing with such bad nausea and here I am, still nauseous.

I’m gonna be honest, I’m worried this wasn’t the fix. I’ve been convincing myself by telling family members that it’s okay if this isn’t the fix because either way my gallbladder would need to be removed with how it was declining. I mean it’s true but I’ll be lying if this isn’t taking a toll on me mentally.

It’s day three, last night I was able to sleep on my side for a little. Kept waking up scared I was gonna throw up, even had a dream about me gagging and woke up gagging. I took all my medications today and I took my Concerta(I’m not tired as much anymore and wanna be able to read without my adhd brain fog), I somehow convinced myself because I have no gallbladder and because I had surgery my Concerta is gonna affect me differently. I’ll be alone today as my bf has work and my mom is going to a wedding. I’m scared and I don’t really have a grip on my anxiety at all. My OCD has convinced me multiple of times that I opened the scars and I have to check them to make sure.

The point of me making this? I don’t know. I’ve seen so many post saying they are so happy they did it or they wish they didn’t do it at all. I guess I’m in between.. I don’t know how to feel.

I’m so worried this was for nothing but as I said I would have needed this surgery anyway. I need to work on my mental health but it’s so difficult when you feel so helpless. I need assistance for everything! I almost cried because I kept dropping things and my bf needed to pick them up. I feel so gross, I can’t do any of my routines. My skin care or body care as sitting at my desk, I get so winded.

I feel like I can’t talk to those around me. They say I’m overthinking it and I just had surgery and only time can tell if I do get better. I know they are probably right but I don’t know anymore.

Sorry for this long nothing post, I just needed to get it out.

I’m stepping down at the end of the month to part time; I’m getting surgery in a week and my employers are making my life hell.

I posted on here before, how I was a HT CA and was questioning about stepping down. Well I am!! I’m going part time at the end of the month to focus on my health. Here’s the problem, I’m being treated like I’m not and I’m getting treated like I’m not getting surgery for an organ dysfunction(don’t want to put many details.)

The other day one of my managers pulled me into admin and yelled at me. Showing me on camera standing at the answer centre, saying I have absolutely no excuse for standing there.(I’m in so much pain and was trying not to throw up.) saying my role is important and my numbers are absolutely horrible(mind you I’m stepping down) and that I’m just not doing my job. My manager saying they don’t understand why I’m like this. (AGAIN I am in so much pain and the only reason why I’m here is because I need to wait a full 30 days to get back on leave AGAIN.) goes on to say I need to set an example for everyone(everyone is years older than me back there, besides 1) and the department looks absolutely horrible. Manager then said if I keep this up, any slip up will be a write up and it’ll continue until I don’t have a job. Left the room sobbing and wouldn’t send me home even tho I was in pain and makeup ruined.

I’m stepping down for a reason, my health is horrible and they are acting like I’m not stepping down and going part time!! I told them it’s for health reasons yet they treat me like I don’t have any health problems and I’m lying.

It’s memorial weekend and I’m trying to leave(this might give me away) I got a small laugh and got asked(what’s going on?) and that they need me because it’s memorial weekend. I need to go to the doctors. How do I explain to people that been told multiple times I’m not doing well and I NEED SURGERY. THEY KNOW I NEED SURGERY.

do they need me to go into explicit detail? I haven’t had a full meal in 4 days, I’m surviving off of crackers in Powerade.

I’m leaving and going home, I’m just typing this to build up some courage to leave. Will I get fired? Who fucking knows. I’m in pain.

(Also the only reason I stayed for the full month when I told them I’m stepping down weeks ago was because schedules were made. Should have told them to fuck off.)

I’m gonna be alone the day after my surgery. Worried.

So my surgery date is on the 3rd of June and my mom just dropped the ball she won’t be there the day after my surgery and the next day after that. She’ll be at a wedding. My boyfriend can’t get out of work which is understandable. She told me to call my grandma if I need to go to the bathroom, eat or drink anything. The same grandma that when I called saying I was gonna pass out, she told me to drink some Gatorade and call her back in 30. She doesn’t do well with anxiety as she doesn’t understand it at all and as much as I love her, she’s not a very good support system.
I’m very upset and just worried. I’m already paranoid and this doesn’t help. Did anyone need someone with them or is this something you can deal with alone?

I’m getting my gallbladder removed and I have severe emetophobia and ocd.

Hi! For context I’m 20 years old(F) and I’ve been struggling with stomach problems for about 5 years now. If you look at my account that’s all I post about. Recently it’s been decided I’m getting my gallbladder out since it’s 18% functioning. We actually don’t know if this would fix my problems or not but it’s worth a shot.
I’m actually so terrified! I got the date for the surgery yesterday and I thought I’d have more time to prepare mentally but no!! The date is June 3rd. I am again, terrified!!
U struggle with severe emetophobia and all I can think about is what if I throw up. What if the pain is so bad I throw up. On top of that my ocd is severe, I drive myself into panic attacks because I zone in on my body so much I’ll convince myself I’ll throw up. For example I took meds a couple nights ago together. I convinced myself I was gonna throw up or die, there was no in between. I obviously was fine.
I just need tips and support I guess. I’m the only one if my family who has gotten there gallbladder out.
