Coinbase Wallet - Sell $20K USDC base to USDC polygon, never received?

Hi guys, I am lost as to what's going on.

  1. I have the latest version of the coinbase wallet app (not coinbase app, the self custody wallet app)
  2. I used their trade function to sell (basically a swap). $20,000 USDC on the base network to $19,999 USDC on the polygon network. Everything is verified beforehand those are the right coins etc..
  3. I click sell then confirm, $20k was removed from my USDC base, in the transaction it says "Brighted out" from network Base to network polygon, Status = Complete.

But I never received the ~$20k in USDC polygon? It's been 15 mins and still nothing. On the block explorer everything seem to say success/complete. Anyone know what's going on?

EDIT: I just did another experiment, exact same steps but tested with $2, and received $2 in USDC polygon almost instantly, but the $20k USDC polygon from previous transaction is still nowhere to be found?

EDIT2: I received the 20K in USDC polygon, for anyone else panicking in the future this is the conclusion:

  1. For small amounts <$1000, when you swap from USDC base to USDC polygon (and I assume any other network USDC), the transfer is near instant.

  2. For large amounts, in my case >$5000, the sold USDC will be taken from your account immediately, but the receive USDC will NOT be sent to you until 20-40 minutes later. This is not a one time issue, I actually went back to my old transactions from 6+ months ago, looking for the same "bridge out" trades, and sure enough every single one of them >$5000 are a delay of 20-30 minutes. I just didn't pay too much attention and by the time I checked later everything was ok.

Utter shit design like most things with this wallet, but now you know. So don't panic just wait.

To all the MSTR preferred holders

This question is for the preferred holders (STRD/K/C/F) - Why do you guys hold the preferred instead of something like SPYI (neo sp500 income etf). SPYI also pays ~12% annual with monthly payment, has a much better risk profile based off sp500 (with derivative components to generate yield while sacrificing some gains during bull market), has the same return of capital tax advantage.

We are talking about similar yield, similar tax advantage, but based of sp500 index with no counterparty risk. At worst, ai bubble burst, sp500 drops 30-40% and then recovers slowly, VS strategy preferred where you have a debt laden company with no business/income but close to a 1.7 billion annual obligation, that is in full hope/pray mode solely dependent on bitcoin to recover and appreciate to stay alive.

I just don't get it, can someone please explain? What is the advantage of owning the preferred vs SPYI?

nonpaying bidders - super frustrating

Ebay has really become a cesspool with no enforcement for non-paying bidders, I sell high value trading cards in the range of $1000-20000, and at least 1 in 3 buyers don't pay. What's worse sometime ebay give them 7 days wait before autopay, so I have to wait an extra 7 days until the autopay, which almost always fails, before I can cancel the auction and relist, so that's 7 days of auction + 7 days of auto pay wait + 7 days of new auction = 21 days before I can resell my item and hope the new buyer pays.

The most frustrating are those f*** kers outbid real buyers at the last second, then just don't pay. I have been on ebay for over 20 years and know all the tricks - have set up everything I can (require credit card, block 2 non payment in 12 month buyers, etc..). None of it does anything. Yesterday I had a 7 day auction for a $8000 card end with over 100+ bids, a buyer who literally registered 1 day ago just outbids everyone and won, then his autopay fails and radio silence. Like did you just register on ebay to screw with me?

Then another auction for $2000+, lots bidders, once again an oversea (via ebay international shipping) buyer with 2 feedbacks registered 2 weeks ago won, no payment for 3 days, yet I have to wait 4 more days for his auto pay to process - and I can almost guarantee with a certainty it will fail.

Not only that, when I relist those cards, as they are very rare, a lot of real buyers who are interested and bid on it in the past, can easily see I sold it just a week or two ago, now relisting it, and think I was shill bidding them myself, some even message me accusing me of bid manipulation.

I am just so frustrated, the Gamestop ceo is right, ebay doesn't give a sh* t. What they should have done is require new buyers and/or anyone with even 1 non payment to be charged ahead of time and put the money in ebay escrow for bidding, if they win the auction, then that money will be used to pay, if they don't, they can request the money be refunded at anytime after that. Do that until they have at least some history of bidding and paying before removing it. Or allow seller to block anyone with <10 feedback and/or registered within x days for high value items - of course I understand ebay will never do that, as it will prevent new user growth, but the situation is so bad right now. For those high value cards buy it now takes way too long to sell, auction suppose to guarantee a sell in 7 days, but now it is becoming far worse.

PSA "Completing" Step Shipping Delay - anyone else?

Hi, anyone else having their slabs stuck at "Completing" step for over a week? Usually when it gets to this step, you get a tracking and shipment within 2-3 business days always. But my most recent order it's been stuck in completing for over 10 calendar days.

Phone support just says it's normal to wait the minimum wage drones don't want to do anything, and email gets an ai bot response.

Just curious if anyone else is having the same delay, want to make sure there is no issue with my order, as it's a 20k+ slab sent via super express (10+ days past due already).

Thanks

Fanatic Collect - Horrendous. Avoid!

For anyone thinking about using Fanatic Collect to buy slabs, don't. They are absolutely the worst, I just got all the slabs I bought from them over the last few months - around 20 back today, so many issues.

  1. Every single god damn slab is heavily scratched up, even 9 digit high serial slabs that looked new in the photos. They don't use sleeves at all, I think the way it's stored in their "vault" just scratch up those slabs.
  2. They put their product sticker DIRECTLY on every god damn slab, and it's not the nice kind where you just peel it off clean. Every sticker when peeled leave a nasty sticky residue on the case, I had to use acrylic cleaner along with a coarse cloth to wipe hard and the residue still don't fully come off. So that's what I been doing for the last 2 *$@*( hours, peeling stickers and wiping off every slab. PSA vault by comparison use a sleeve and put the sticker on the sleeve.
  3. Very expensive withdrawal - 3% of CURRENT market value if the card is in the vault for <3 months, 1% if >3 months. So on a $5000 card, immediate withdrawal will cost you $150! even if you wait 3 months it still cost $50. Even if you bought the card months ago for $2000 they only use the current value. PSA vault by comparison charges $2 flat, and +$5 flat fee if less than 3 months regardless of card value, crazy price difference.
  4. Very expensive shipping - charged me $130 to ship a 2lbs box of 20 cards! PSA Vault by comparison is $5 shipping flat. Both use next day express by fedex
  5. 3 weeks to ship after paying....PSA vault sometime also takes weeks but most cases ships in a few days.

I am not fan of PSA by a long mile, but by comparison their vault is infinitely better than Fanatic. Everything else I can overlook, but scratching up all the slabs and putting sticker directly on the case just shows a complete disregard for their client's collectibles.

So pissed. Never again will I use Fanatic, and I suggest you don't either.

Blurred PSA lighthouse logo text? Anyone seen this

Just received bunch slabs back from fanatic collect for the first (and probably last) time. Asides all the issues with the crazy withdrawal cost and them putting stickers directly on the slab creating a mess, I noticed around 7 (out of 18) slabs have blurred PSA text in the lighthouse logo to the point it's just a doodles instead of showing the many small "PSA" text.

First photo shows the worst one, rest is like in the middle photo, and last photo shows what a normal one looks like. Serial range from 5*** to 7*** which I think is from 2021-2023 or so?

I never paid attention to this in the past since all my slabs are directly from PSA or vault, but with fanatic I went through each carefully and noticed this. I also checked against psa website everything else seem to be match exactly including the cards, QR code position, etc... the dozen other checks, so I am 99.9% sure it's just PSA quality defect, but kind odd so many have this issue from fanatic. The slabs range from <$100 to $5k+ that have this issue.

Does anyone know if this is legit or have any info on it, I googled but couldn't find much discussion around blurred text inside the PSA lighthouse logo.

Will probably have to get them reholdered just for peace of mine, which means another 3 month wait sigh.

What is this white stuff in the PSA 9 case?

Does anyone know what is this white stuff all over the edge of a PSA 9 slab, it is super annoying. I been looking at it for 10 mins and still can't tell if it's on the card or part of the case, it's definitely inside the case.

Any idea how to get rid of it, if I pay for a reholder, do you think PSA will get rid of it?

Thanks

WTF is wrong with your wallet, why can't coinbase just stop being so fucking stupid

First they completely fuck up the coinbase wallet by redesigning it to look like a casino website with all the useless bs no-one wants while hiding the actual fucking wallet to send/receive crypto, wasting user time to find this tiny little switch buried in the options to switch back to the old version.

Now all of sudden I can no longer send crypto by scanning the receiver QR code, instead of scan the QR code and input the receiver address and let me send the crypto, it now shows an error message "If you are trying to connect to a dapp, select Coinbase Wallet and then scan the QR code again etc.."

Well I don't want to use your shitty browser embedded inside the wallet app that's on my phone, I want the god damn app to scan a desktop QR code, send the crypto, then continue use the desktop browser. It was working fine even yesterday, now it's blocked.

I don't want to waste time troubleshoot a god damn fucking wallet. Why do you clowns keep on changing your damn wallet to make it insanely frustrating and stupid for the user. All it needs to do is receive crypto and send crypto, and make sure it's not hacked. That's it. But no lets add everything else but block the basic send/receive and force user to some bullsht embedded browser. No other wallet is designed this stupid, if not for the coinbase account connection I would switched to binance trust wallet long ago.

Is there any real benefit to premier status for international travel only?

Sorry for the newbie question as I just discovered in my previous post that there is no free business upgrade for Premier on International flights. My travel is only international to Asia, this year I focused all my round trips with United and along with all spending using the united club credit card to qualify for Gold next year.

Now I am kind crushed, as it seems there is literally no benefit of getting gold status? My united credit card already gave me the United Club all access membership which included lounge etc..

So if I only travel long haul flights, it seems the only benefit from gold is little bit more miles on paid flights, that's it. is that correct? Thanks

Hi guys, for anyone who used ebay international *STANDARD* delivery to ship to Europe (not gsp), how reliable is this shipping, I understand it goes through USPS, has it gotten better? My one and only experience was from 4 years ago where I shipped a $400 toy to Latin America using it, the package got stuck in out for delivery once it reached that country for weeks, buyer filed for non-delivery, ebay refunded, and after hours on the phone no-one knew what happened to the package or how to get it back. A total loss.

Fast forward to today, being the idiot I am while driving stopped at a red light, I accepted a low ball offer of $700 on a ~$1000 large box 22lb toy just to clear inventory because I thought the buyer was close by (cheap shipping) in DE (Delaware). Well turned out DE was Deutsche Germany. /facepalm

I ship dozens of packages international a month so very familiar with custom forms / code etc, but I only use UPS worldwide expedited or ebay international (gsp) if available. In this case, the cost for UPS is $430 vs ebay international standard of $170. Buyer paid $130 shipping (really old listing, I missed integrating the shipping fees to my updated international shipping templates, and since I thought it was domestic didn't bother to check before accepting).

To wrap up this novel, I am faced with the decision of losing even more money and go with what I am familiar with and reliable - UPS, or save ~300 bucks and give ebay international standard another try but risk losing the whole package and negative feedback.

Back to my question - how is international standard delivery nowadays to Europe? Has it gotten better?

Thank you for reading my long winded post.
