Persian Cat Update Up for Adoption 🐾

Quick update on the Persian cat I found and posted about earlier.

She has now been examined by a vet and will undergo 5 days of medical treatment starting today. Her blood tests showed mild liver enzyme elevation along with low protein/albumin, most likely related to the stress, poor nutrition and weight loss she went through after being abandoned. She is currently under veterinary care and on a recovery/hepatic diet.

Her coat was also in very poor condition when we found her, so unfortunately we had to go for a zero trim. Please don't judge her by how she looks right now. It should take around 3 weeks or more for her coat to start coming back properly, and with good nutrition and care she should gradually look like herself again.

We are now looking for a serious and responsible family who can adopt her.

Please keep in mind:

  • She already has a medical history, and we will share her reports and treatment details with the adopter.
  • She has already been abandoned once, so we really do not want her to go through that again.
  • Persian cats require regular grooming, good-quality food, veterinary care and attention.
  • Please come forward only if you understand the responsibility and are genuinely prepared for the long-term commitment.
  • We are not looking for someone who simply wants a Persian cat because of the breed or appearance.

Our priority is finding her a permanent, safe and caring home where she will be treated like a family member.

If you are genuinely interested in adopting her, please DM me. I will share all relevant information, medical records and discuss the further adoption formalities.

Please share this post so we can find the right family for her. ❤️🐱

Update on the Persian cat I found vet visit, grooming and tests done

Here’s an update on my earlier post about the Persian cat I found near my place. I took her to the vet today, where she was groomed and thoroughly examined by the doctor. The vet also recommended a few tests, including CBC, LFT, and KFT. We’re currently waiting for the reports, which should hopefully arrive by late evening. A huge thanks to a fellow Redditor who came all the way, despite having work of her own, and guided me through the entire process. She helped me understand which tests needed to be done and what steps we should take next. I’m really grateful for her support and for taking the time to help us. For now, I don’t want to put the cat up for adoption until we receive the test results and have a clear understanding of her health. I feel it wouldn’t be right for someone to adopt her without knowing whether she has any medical issues that may require treatment or special care. Hopefully, the reports come back fine. Once we have the results, we’ll have a better idea of her condition and can decide the best way forward for her, including adoption. I’ll share another update once the reports are available. Thank you to everyone who has shown concern and offered help.

Delhi Protest Crackdown: When Police Power Goes Unchecked, Democracy Suffers

I am deeply concerned about what happened to the protesters in Delhi yesterday. The manner in which the police and security officials treated them was horrifying. It appeared to reflect an excessive use of power, a lack of accountability, and a sense that the authorities had been given a free hand.

The incident also raises serious concerns about the failure of constitutional institutions. Courts can take suo motu cognisance of such matters, and bodies such as the National Human Rights Commission can investigate alleged police misconduct. However, when these institutions fail to act promptly, public confidence in the system weakens.

There is also growing fear and uncertainty in society about how people should respond to injustice. The anger among young people must be acknowledged, channelled through peaceful and democratic platforms, and addressed through genuine accountability. Otherwise, continued neglect could lead to serious unrest and violence, which would be harmful to India.

I sincerely hope the government listens to the protesters, addresses their legitimate demands, and ensures that any allegations of misconduct are investigated fairly. Peaceful protest is a democratic right, and the authorities must respond with restraint, dialogue, and respect for the Constitution.

I (27M) Miss My Cousin (18M), But I Think He Doesn't Want to Meet Me Anymore

I have two cousins from my father’s side. One of them is my uncle’s son, and we grew up together from first grade to tenth grade. After that, my uncle started living in his own house, and we lived separately.

Eight years ago, a fight happened between my father and my uncle, and they stopped talking to each other. But my first cousin and I had a bond. We had decided that we would not carry that conflict forward. I made sure that whenever we were together, we behaved like real brothers and did not hold any jealousy or grudges against each other.

His younger sibling, who is also my cousin, was around ten years old when the fight happened. I am twenty-seven now, and he is eighteen. I had not seen him for almost six years. Before COVID, I met him once at his home, but after that, I never met him again.

Recently, his board exam results came out, and he scored 96%. I felt genuinely happy for him. It was not a showy kind of happiness, but a sincere feeling of joy. I felt proud that I have a brother who scored so well and is so intelligent. I admired him and felt proud that my siblings are doing well.

I asked my cousin to take him out so that we could meet and spend some time together. But he always said that the younger one did not want to come, that he did not like going out, and that he was very introverted.

Recently, after his board results, I again asked my cousin if he could bring him out so we could celebrate. I told him that I missed him very much and really wanted to meet him. I wanted to tell him that he had done something great.

It was not that I wanted to force any feeling on him, but a part of me wanted to share how happy I was for him. My cousin said that he did not want to come out because he did not feel like going out. Internally, I knew that maybe he simply did not want to meet me. And I completely understand and respect that.

I am not angry with him. He is young and intelligent, and whatever values he has built, I hope they help him become a better man.

I know he may not want to meet me, and I do not judge him for that. But at the same time, I feel sad about how things have turned out. It hurts to know that I cannot meet my own cousin anymore.

It creates a deep sadness the feeling that you have someone in your family whom you want to reach out to, but you cannot meet them. And it is not really their fault either. It is just how the environment around us has made things so difficult.

Today, I am twenty-seven years old, and he is eighteen. I feel really sad, and I wish I could have done something about it.

Shopkeeper refusing to honor 2-year warranty on ergonomic chair that broke within 3 months. What legal remedies do I have? Legal Advice Needed

Recently, I bought an ergonomic chair from a shop. At the time of purchase, the shopkeeper told me that the chair had a two-year warranty. Now, within only three months, the backrest of the chair has broken. When I contacted the shopkeeper for repair or replacement, he refused and said that the damage was my fault because I reclined too much.

However, at the time of purchase, he had clearly told me that if any fault occurred while using the chair normally, the chair would be repaired or replaced without any extra charge. I have proof of payment, the bill, and other purchase details. The chair is only three months old and is still under warranty.

The shopkeeper is now trying to deny my warranty claim. What legal remedies do I have, and how can I take action against him?

why men cheat on women?

I have found that many men here are quite openly outrageous in the different ways they characterize women. They also tend to humanize men who cheat, portraying them more softly, while judging women much more harshly for the same behavior. Can we say that this patriarchal idea of men being superior is behind this double standard?
