As a customer, that sounds genuinely useful for repeat purchases or straightforward requests. For example, I could ask for running shoes under a certain price, in a specific size, with free returns and delivery by Friday. Having an agent compare those details across stores could save a lot of time.

Where I get cautious is the final decision. I would want to see why a product was recommended, whether the information is current, and exactly what the agent is about to buy. Reviews, return policies, subscriptions, delivery fees, and payment details still matter. I would not want convenience to turn into an automatic purchase I did not fully understand.

Shopify seems well positioned for this because it already connects stores with products, payments, orders, and inventory. If that infrastructure lets shopping agents access accurate information while keeping the customer in control, it could make online shopping much less tedious.
