Cheap super high rise postpartum underwear?

I'm really not into the diapers so I'm thinking cheap black underwear + pads for postpartum. I saw old navy's cotton maternity option recommended but they arrived and the top seam is itchy. My preference is super high rise like at least belly button level. Any ideas for other places to look? Ideally less than $10 per pair.

Am I prepping enough?

I’m in my 26th week and want to make sure I’m doing enough to prep for birth. Between books and free videos I have a general understanding of pregnancy exercises, stages of labor, coping mechanisms, possible interventions and their risks. I’ve learned basic newborn care and breastfeeding tips.

My doula asked if I’d taken any classes yet and I haven’t, which makes me feel behind for some reason. I’m not finding anything that connects with me or seems like it may have enough new info. Maybe in today’s internet full of free content classes aren’t as necessary?

Having a few affirmations on hand could help but otherwise things like hypnobirthing tracks feel a little woo-woo for me. I tend to internalize pain, talk a lot to myself in my head, take long slow deep breaths. I love a heating pad and tens unit. My doula will have her arsenal of techniques as well and keep me moving.

I guess what I’m asking…is there is something unknown I’m missing out on by not doing more than this? Am I naive to think I don’t need to buy a specialized course?

footless pajamas?

I've heard footless pajamas are recommended when babywearing unless there is decent space beyond their toes so I've been on the hunt for options. Idk what size my baby will be yet, just want to have a few on hand. Any particular ones you recommend? Also, what fabrics do you consider acceptable? I've been aiming for 100% cotton but curious how strict you are on others like tencel, modal & spandex. Polyester seems easy enough to avoid but brands like to sneak in those others.

Non-dress maternity photo outfits?

If you've already taken maternity photos and didn't wear a dress, I would love to see what you chose! I'm 25 weeks and the bump is very subtle from the front so I'm having trouble picturing what might work 7 weeks from now. I've been looking for dresses but cannot deal with the puff sleeves and am more of a jeans kinda girl anyways.

Everyday lens for a first time mom?

I could just use my smaller fujifilm for everyday photos but whyyy when I have an R5mii? 😅 I have the rf 50, 85, 70-200 and an ef 24-70. They’re all a bit big and heavy for quick candid photos. I wonder what lens/focal length you’d recommend as a lot of photos will be indoors and I’ll want to be somewhat up close. It doesn’t have to be the absolute lightest lens available as I understand weight comes with other benefits so somewhere in between is fine. I also think maybe a super low aperture capability isn’t necessary because I’d be too close to the subject for that anyways. Not really worried about budget. What would you suggest?

Weight 1st vs 2nd half of pregnancy?

I’m 19w4d, almost halfway there! My starting weight was 198-199 and this week I’m 201 so not much change. I was very lucky not to be sick during the first trimester. Even though I’m fully recovered from my ed past, my concern of large weight gain during pregnancy definitely exists. So far so good! I’m wondering, how did your appetite and weight change in the 2nd half of pregnancy vs the 1st? I guess I’m trying to get a realistic idea of what to expect as long as I continue to make mostly nutritious choices.

Set high?

Mods: To be clear, I am not asking what anyone here thinks of the stone size.

I was given this beautiful ring and have some questions. At first my personal opinion was that this is too big for me/my style. After trying it on a few more times, I’m thinking maybe I’ve just never had ring that sticks out so far. I don’t typically wear jewelry. Is this a normal expected height for a 3 carat pear? Can it be set lower? I do think I’ll want a wedding band underneath to balance the size of the stone.

Also, is this setting stable enough? I’ve seen cathedral settings recommended. He thought it wouldn’t look as classy, maybe too bulky or something. I agree on the look, curious how fragile it may be.

Lastly, thoughts on the bow tie? I probably wouldn’t have ever thought about it had I not seen the term online. Just wondering.

My struggle before vacation

I’ve been recovered for many years now but one thing I’ve repeatedly struggled with is preparing to go on vacation, specifically to a foodie-type place like NYC. Part of it is logical, which is knowing reservations are hard to come by last minute so I prefer having a plan. Then comes the part where I drive myself absolutely insane trying to choose the restaurants and get analysis paralysis. The next thing I know I’ve been scrolling through the same 10 expensive pasta restaurants for way too long. 😅 It’s ridiculous! And idk maybe it’s also because I very rarely make pasta at home although it’s not restricted. I genuinely just don’t think about it. So, after annoying myself for way too long, I got off the couch and made sauce from scratch and boiled the best pasta we had. 10/10 no notes and free, even better lol. Problem solved. Is anyone else like this!?

Update on the blue dining room: I think I hate it?

The shade is off and I hate it. Maybe one of the other samples would be better? Or maybe we should’ve done the opposite..blue on the bottom with light walls? Idk, it isn’t too late to change but I’m not into it at all. Should I just paint it back white? 😩

Matching stain with different wood?

I’m refinishing a dresser for our nursery. The hardwood floors are white oak with 2:1 fruitwood : early American. I assume the dresser isn’t white oak so the stain may come out too warm if we copy it. Do you have suggestions for getting a similar color?

Maternity Jean size?

Quick question! I’m only 13 weeks but old navy’s maternity jeans were only $25 so I ordered a pair to try. They currently fit perfectly, just not filling out the stretchy panel of course. I don’t think I’d want the thigh & butt areas to feel any tighter. I haven’t gained any weight so far and am starting back strength training. So the question is, should I keep this size or do you think I should switch it for one size up?

We’re debating between doing the same shade of blue all over but flat ceiling, satin walls, semi-gloss trim. I’m getting scared it will be too dramatic since the rest of our walls are white and everything is very natural toned.

The alternative option is just making the molding a little darker than it currently is and painting the wall blue. If we do this, would you keep the ceiling white, blue or maybe the trim color just flat?

Whatcha think?
