1st trip to Wildwood- Any recs?

Were heading to Wild wood for 2 nights this week (Tues-Thur). We're staying in N.Wildwood and can't get into our place until 4, but should be in town around 11.

What do you recommend we see/do? I think we will do the boardwalk Wed afternoon. Are there must see/eat places? What should we skip?

I've always heard Cape May is love!y and has good architecture and may want to see that. How long does that take? What's parking like on the island if I'm not at our rental?

Thanks!

Someone hit my bumper- is it worth fixing?

Today someone backed into my 2022 Nissan Rogue and it tore a hole in the plastic bumper when it popped back out. They asked to not go through insurance which I understand. I tried to push it back but it won’t go. Will the entire bumper will need to be replaced? Is it worth the hassle? It is close to a light which worries me it could short if it gets wet.

I’m just looking for advice and thougjts on this. I know it will be a pain to get it fixed time wise, but also I don’t love the look. The car has some other chips but I try to keep it nice.

Edit for typo

Tires wearing before warranty advice

2.5 yr ago I went to Mavis to get new tires for a 2015 Rogue. They recommended tires, I chose mid level (I don’t know much on this topic). 2 yr after my mechanic says the tires are wearing and should be replaced. They had only 20-25k on them with a warranty of 50k. They were at a 4 on them with tread gauge. Mavis says they will not honor the warranty replacement until they are at a 3, even though a 4 is dangerous, IMO. I keep checking the tread and it’s still a solid 4 on each tire.

Any tips on forcing Mavis to replace them before they are really dangerous? Once I went in and said they couldn’t do the warranty, but would give me a good deal on a new set. Why would I pay money for a new set when they are wearing out too fast and it’s not my fault?

This is my college kid’s vehicle. She mostly drives it around town but wants to do a 7-hr interstate trip and I’m nervous.

I’m a single mom who doesn’t have money for new tires, nor do I feel I should have to pay for new ones if the ones on there will never meet their warranty.

Any thoughts/ suggestions on any of this?

Thanks.

Edit: Thank you for explaining things to me and helping me parse through advice from my mechanic, tire shop and warranties. I realize my mechanic errs on the side of caution and the warranty matters less.

Acadia trip weather

1st 2 days amazing. Last two days the fog caused our puffin cruise to be canceled and our hike on the Beech Cliff had no view. And it’s going to rain our last morning here, so 3/5 mornings were no good for sunrise. But we saw beautiful things.

Identify this pitcher -Pennsylvania

I found this pitcher at a flea market in Pennsylvania for $2. Google image search places it from 1910s to 1960s. It has no brand stamp, just the letters SHW or MHS. There are faint swirls near the bottom (see pic). The interior is white glaze. Does anyone have any information on it?

Thanks.

Heavy breathing in dog with heart murmur or something else

My 10 1/2 yo Chihuahua mix was at the vet 2 weeks ago for a checkup. Bloodwork showed his lipase and Spec cPl is elevated (465 and 579) so he is currently at day 8 of plain diet (rice, boiled turkey and some carrots).

Vet also said he had a heart murmur.

Last night he went outside for final pee. He was late to come in, not at door in usual time. When he entered he was panting. Mouth was red and he was distressed. He climbed on the couch and after maybe 10-15 min of soothing him he had slowed his breathing and was “ok.” He slept well next to me and today was fine for breakfast.

We have an appt at 3 today, but I’m looking for input prior to my appt.

I don’t think he got into anything in the yard. 99% sure there was nothing to get into.

Any thoughts on this?

Guidance to find an adopted half sister

I know I have an older half sister who was adopted. This would have been in the mid-to-late 60s in Connecticut. I have an approximate birth year, a birth month, and mother’s name, and city of birth. Any suggestions on how to find her without doing DNA testing? I’m a great researcher, but I’m not sure where to start.

Thank you

▲ 1 r/Tree

This tree bloomed beautifully and I admired the leaves. Then one day nearly all the leaves shriveled up. Why? And will it be ok? I wonder if a frost did it?

Thanks.
