Dell G15 5520 - I5 12500h thermal throttling issue.

I'm trying to determine whether CPU undervolting is possible on the Dell G15 5520 with an i5-12500H.

My laptop is around 3 years old and is mainly used for Rust. During gaming the CPU can reach 95-100°C and I occasionally experience stuttering when the CPU is under heavy load.

I've found conflicting information regarding undervolting on 12th Gen Intel H-series processors. Some sources claim voltage control is locked, while others mention success through BIOS modifications or advanced BIOS options.

I'm looking for reports from users who own this laptop or CPU:

Is undervolting possible on the i5-12500H?

What method was used?

Were there any measurable temperature reductions?

Did it affect clock speeds, stability, or gaming performance?

Any firsthand experiences would be appreciated.

Steam won’t recover my nearly 20-year-old account because I don’t have the original CD key anymore — do I still have a chance?

I’m trying to recover an old Steam account and honestly don’t know if I still have any realistic chance left, so I wanted some outside opinions.

The account is very old — it already had a 17-year badge when I got it around 2022, so it’s probably close to 20 years old now.

A while later, I lost access because a Steam Authenticator got added, and now Steam Support is asking for ownership verification.

---

What I’ve already provided to Steam Support

- Steam account name

- Old Steam purchase emails

- Steam Wallet top-up confirmations

- Rust purchase confirmation

- Product activation key for:

- Project Druid - 2D Labyrinth Explorer

- Timeline/history of account activity

- Access to the associated email/history

---

What Steam asked me for

At first they requested:

- Credit card information

- Phone number used on the account

Problem is:

- I never used a credit card on this account

- I genuinely didn’t fully remember the phone history because this was years ago

---

Steam’s latest response

Steam replied saying:

- The CD key I provided is NOT the original key used on the account

- Due to a “historical security event,” they only trust very early ownership proof

- They now want:

- the ORIGINAL physical CD key

- with a handwritten support ticket number next to it

---

The issue

This account is nearly 20 years old.

I can't possibly have the access to :

- the original physical CD packaging

- or the first CD key used on the account

That honestly feels unrealistic after this much time.

---

Additional info I later found

While digging through old emails, I discovered that in 2022 I attempted to add my own phone numbers ending in:

- 05

- 90

I still actively own both numbers today.

However, I later found emails showing that another number ending in:

- 38

was eventually added to the account.

The weird part is:

- I genuinely do NOT recognize or remember using that number

- But I was still actively using the account afterward, which makes the situation even more confusing

---

My main question

Has anyone here actually recovered an old Steam account without the original retail CD key?

And realistically, do you think Steam might eventually accept:

- old emails,

- phone history,

- purchase confirmations,

- account activity/history,

- etc.

Or am I basically out of luck at this point?

Would really appreciate honest opinions or similar experiences.
