Found out my bosses salary

Hi all,

I’m a director at a company. There is an owner/chairman, MD and 3 other directors including myself.

I get paid 6 figures but probably sliding out of Henry territory these days due to stagnant wages/growth in our sector.

Today I just found out how much our MD gets paid and it’s so bloody mental I’m still processing it.

He’s not even an owner and he takes home more every month than some of our employees take home in a year.

Makes me question that I’m being underpaid.

That’s all - just wanted to share!

Advice required - VW Golf R Estate - running issues

Hi all,

I have a 10 year old VW Golf R Estate with 131,000 miles on the clock.

I’m very good with maintaining minor and major services each year and have generally had little repairs apart from generally wear and tear and the odd pothole!

That is up until now.

I’ll be in low revs and the car intermittently loses power - foot on pedal and the power disappears for a second or then “catches” itself again, this might happen a few times as the car gets up to speed and then it doesn’t happen at a steady motorway speed.

If I were to put my foot down at do it over and over and likely end up with the EPC light coming on. But restart the car and the EPC light goes off.

If I change the drive setting from normal to sport, it performs better, almost like the engine is breathing better.

Any ideas? Just trying to get a heads up before I go to a garage.

Thanks

Passing through Utrecht, where for brunch and parking.

Hi everyone, I’ll be heading to Ghent on Friday and just noticed my drive will take me through Utrecht.

We have 2 young children so I am thinking of breaking up the journey with some breakfast/brunch in Utrecht.

Ideally as close to the centre as I can get with a car so the walking isn’t too much with children. We also have a disability badge for the car for parking, not sure if this helps or not.

But yes, looking for breakfast/ brunch recommendations and a quick visit to the centre before travelling again.

Thanks

I should add, we are from Scotland, never been to Utrecht. Heading south and wondered if we could make something of jt.

Aberdeen council Taxi and Uber

I know this will have been discussed many times before, but I see this week the council voted to retain the street knowledge test.

I understand Uber was proposing to get rid of it completely for new drivers.

What I don’t get is how come the multitude of food delivery drivers across the city manage to make to address and streets all over, but the council seem to think taxis wouldn’t do the same.

Assets not visible from CC on InDesign

Hi, I am working on a project I have saved to the created cloud. Within I have separate folder for assets - photographs etc.

When placing to the project, I can navigate through the folders in the creative cloud within InDesign, but I can’t view the photographs at the end destination. I see “no compatible files to show”

However, in photoshop it works no problem and and I can see the files working the creative cloud app.

Any ideas?

Issue with InDesign? Seems to only work with assets on local storage.

I have rubbish breakfasts during the week and put a bit more effort at the weekend.

I fry up some chopped tomatoes, chopped red pepper, harissa paste, chopped garlic and a small bit of chorizo.

Layer it all on some homemade toasted sourdough, 2 fried eggs on the top of that and some rocket for garnish.

I love eggs shakshuka and generally have that if we are at a hotel / cafe away somewhere. But, I think this is the best breakfast I’ve had.

Thoughts?
