[Hobby] Looking for a Composer / Audio Engineer for a Small Rhythm Game Prototype

Hi everyone, I’m looking for a composer or audio engineer who would be interested in helping with a small rhythm game prototype.

The game is inspired by Friday Night Funkin’, but I’m trying to make the gameplay feel closer to the combat style of my main project. The prototype will use chibi versions of two existing characters and will be released for free, ideally on Poki and other web platforms if possible.

I’m mainly looking for someone who can help with short music loops, rhythm-game-friendly tracks, sound effects, and possibly general audio direction.

Ideally, I’d like to work with someone based in Europe or Africa, mostly for timezone reasons.

This is a small prototype, so the scope should stay manageable. Terms can be discussed depending on your experience and expectations.

If this sounds interesting, feel free to DM me with examples of your work.

I'll be handling Art, Programming & Game Design

Should I delete my 15 year old Tumblr account?

Hi everyone,

I have an old tumblr account. From time to time I post a few things, I have 4k followers (most of them dead by now), but I get no likes or traction. Would it be better to delete it and create a fresh account?

My Project Finally Became Possible Because the Tools Lowered the Barrier Enough for Me to Make It

It's a project that I started back in 2022. Despite completing the entire script back then, I realized it was an ambitious project in terms of art requirements. Hiring an artist never really made sense financially either, so I took the reasonable step of shelving it.

As time passed, I realized that if the project was ever going to become a reality, I would need to take on more of a generalist approach. It's something I've been working on since 2020.

Last year, I bought an iPad Pro, and shortly afterward I was tempted to buy an Apple Pencil to give drawing another go. I had been dabbling in drawing on and off for the last 15 years, but I had never committed to it. After my purchase and a lot of trial and error, I created my first digital character.

It wasn't great, and I wasn't satisfied at all with it, so I thought, "Why not send it to a colorist and see what happens?"

The colorist actually made a great sprite out of it, and he overcompensated for my lack of artistic direction. But that experience made me realize that even with my crappy skills, I could still finish that project. That single purchase motivated me to draw again.

Which brings us to today, where I've finished the line art for most of the main cast of Rogue Shifters.

For now, my approach is fairly simple: create the original character artwork myself and then send it out for coloring. This process alone reduces the cost of the sprites by 90% and turns Rogue Shifters into a project that I can realistically commit to and finish.

A Craftsman Is Only as Good as His Tools

I was never great at writing, in fact I hated it, but what motivated me to write my first stories back in the 2000s was my first PC, a Pentium II. I realized then that if it wasn't for technology, I could never become a writer.

Now I'm realizing that without my iPad, I would never have become a person who can draw.

[RevShare] Looking for Co-Creator / Game Designer for 90s Adult Horror Game (PSX Style)

I’m an experienced indie developer looking for a Co-Creator / Narrative Designer to help me shape a new adult horror project from the ground up.

About me

I've shipped around 15 games since 2021 (portfolio: https://funigami.itch.io/). I'm a generalist (programming, narrative, art, production). For this game, I will be handling the level design and production tracking.

Contact: seraphicscribe

The Project

One pager: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kMZnB9dsKbYyI2y-qUG0LNdoQmv8iFbv/view?usp=sharing

  • Setting/Style: Mid-90s atmospheric survival horror with a PSX/PS2 aesthetic
  • Engine: Unreal Engine.
  • Concept: You and your friends hit a party, but things go dark when you accidentally awaken an ancient evil. You must survive, solve the mystery, and escape.
  • Adult Themes: The game features survival blended with adult romance. Players will be able to make relationships, hook up with characters, and unlock NSFW scenes.

The Role

Since the project is in the ideation phase, I want a partner to help design the foundation. I am looking for someone to collaborate on:

  • Narrative Design: Shaping the story beats, character dynamics, and romance paths.
  • Game Design: Defining the player experience, pacing, and core mechanics.

Who You Are

Comfortable with adult/NSFW themes, psychological horror, and early-stage brainstorming. Whether you are an experienced dev looking for a collaborative passion project or a dedicated designer wanting to build a portfolio piece, the main requirement is a shared drive to take a project from concept to release.

[Revshare] PSX adult horror game looking for a narrative & game designer

Hey everyone,

I’m currently starting a new adult horror game project, and I’m looking for someone who can help with narrative design and game design.

The project is still in the ideation phase, so I’m looking for someone who can help shape the story structure, define the player experience, and figure out what the game should actually become.

The rough idea right now is:

The game is set in the mid-90s. You and your friends go to a party, but something goes wrong, and you accidentally awaken an ancient evil. From there, the player needs to uncover what happened, survive, and find a way out.

The plot does not need to be overly complex, but I want the game to have a strong atmosphere and adult romance content. The player should be able to hook up with romanceable characters and unlock NSFW scenes as part of the experience.

Visually, I’m aiming for a PSX/PS2-era horror style (like ObsCure).

For the engine, I’m currently considering either GDevelop or Unreal Engine, though I think Unreal Engine may be the ideal choice for this kind of game.

My Role

I’m a senior game developer with experience developing games for mobile and desktop. I’ve worked with a variety of engines, including Ren’Py, Unity, Godot, GDevelop, and others.

My plan is to focus mainly on level design and act as the project lead this time.

You can check my portfolio here: https://funigami.itch.io/

What I'm looking for

Ideally, I’d like to work with someone experienced/senior who can contribute from the early concept stage. I’m looking for someone comfortable with adult themes, horror, and early-stage narrative and game design.

I also want to be clear about commitment: if you only plan to join for a few days, or you already know you won’t be able to commit seriously, please refrain from reaching out. I’m looking for people who want to help finish a game, not just brainstorm for a week and disappear.

Why join?

I’ve finished around 15 games since 2021, and I can manage a team properly. I can also help you with production structure, Git workflow, documentation, planning, and keeping the project organized.

Next Steps

Once we have a plan ironed out, we could have a programmer & an artist join the team. The plan is to have a team of max 4 individuals joining the team and finishing the project.
