Getting into Data Hoarding

I'm looking into data hoarding as the older I get, the more I notice the incredibly common media I used to use as a child are now terribly hard to find. I would typically just search this kind of question on the subreddit, but tbh, I don't even know how I'd begin to search this question.

Is there an open source interface or protocol data hoarders can use to access archived information on others hard drives? Similarly to something such as torrent? I would love to data hoard but I don't want it to be like I'm a dragon sitting atop my pile of treasure LOL.

Is there anything similar to this? I would love especially if it was something similar to archive.org but decentralized and commonly tracked.

Is BakkesPlugins.com down for anyone else?

bakkesplugins.com isn't working for me. I tried both via WiFi on my PC and through my mobile device. When I try to connect, it throws a cloudfare Bad gateway "host" error.

I know this is heavily community driven and basically a free project. Does anyone know what's happening?

Issue With Account.

Hey everyone,

I'm not a Frontier customer anymore, I switched back in March 2026 due to the fiber line breaking so easily.

We had a storm and one twig fell off of a tree in my backyard and bent the fiber line. It was then supposed to be 1 week until they would come out to repair it. Around 3 days later, they pushed the time back by 3 weeks from the initial date. Obviously with schooling and such, I can't go 3 weeks without Internet so I switched to Spectrum.

I called to cancel and the dumb AI thought I was trying to upgrade my Internet and sent me an extender.

I then finally got ahold of someone able to cancel my account but they said they couldn't cancel it until the delivery was completed. They then told me to just deny the delivery and when they get it back, they'll be able to cancel the account.

I figured that was all I needed to do and that they'd reach out or something about returning the equipment, which they never did.

The equipment is still sitting in my living room when I found out I now owe $832.22 due to an account that for Wifi that I was supposedly receiving but the cable is still broken and isn't even capable of receiving WiFi.

Does anyone have a recommendation of how to remove forward? I just want the equipment out of my living room and the bill removed (considering they both weren't sending me any Internet even if I had it plugged in combined that it hasn't been plugged in. I've just been waiting for someone to contact me about sending the stuff back.)

Has anyone else noticed an increase in hackers online recently?

I'm not sure what has changed but I just faced 3 back to back games in 10k lobbies against cheaters.

The first two were your typical cheaters (low account level, multiple back to back combo shots with poor ball positioning, etc.), then the last person I played against seemed legit as he took his time for each shot, but for his final shot, he ricocheted the 8 ball off of my ball, then off of bottom wall, then off the right wall, then off of the top wall to pocket it into the bottom middle hole.

Either bro was one of the best trickshotters in miniclip 8 ball history, he got lucky, or he was cheating.

Genuinely I'm not sure because he was level 107 which is a lot higher than typical cheaters.

But has anyone noticed this uptick as well recently? I've been playing for years and either the player pool has a lot more cheaters in general or I'm being matched with better opponents (and more cheaters) due to competing in $500k+ games.

How can I best support partners' littles through size dysphoria?

Hey everyone,

I don't have DID myself, but my amazing partner is a system. They're all very lovely, but I've noticed the littles really don't like how big their body is. I know I tried to explain to them that their body is little to me and that it fits them nicely, but also that I understand how me saying that doesn't make the struggle disappear.

When I tell them that, as a trans woman, it reminds me of how people will tell me that my body is feminine when I'm feeling dysphoric about parts that aren't traditionally feminine. It's not that it isn't nice, but it just feels overwhelmingly flat because the pain is so much deeper.

Their response makes me feel like they have a similar experience to their size dysphoria.

Is there a way I can help them feel more at home and small in their body regardless of the physical size of their body. I just want them to feel as safe and comfy in their body as possible.

Any response is appreciated :).

(TW: Brief mentions of trauma, none in detail) Is there any studied correlation between specifically Hyperadrenergic POTS and C-PTSD?

I noticed that in my timeline with my illness, my symptoms truly onset after leaving my childhood home where I was regularly abused until around 14-15. From 15-18, I lived a relatively calm and flourishing life. Then when I left for college at 18, I experienced a significant crash as the weight of everything I lived through set in.

After that, it was almost like my body couldn't recover. I was exhausted 24/7 without having any clue why. It's been four years while being bed-bound since then and I finally found out I have quite severe POTS.

I know from my general research into C-PTSD that there's quite a bit of clinically significant evidence showing that the repeated activation of the fight-or-flight response within C-PTSD survivors can cause instability in the autonomic nervous system in general, including the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system, but has anyone read anything showing if this could be a possible causal/correlative factor in the development of C-PTSD?

(ie. the resulting instability in the autonomic nervous system lays the groundwork for hyperandrenergic POTS).

I found this article which explores the effect of PTSD on NET (Norepinephrine Transporter) receptors within mice and it found that within mice at least, there tended to be two separate responses based on epigenetic expression. One population when exposed to SPS (single prolonged stress) showed elevated NET neuron expression when compared to the unstressed control, while the other showed little to no change during an autopsy 2 weeks later. It was then shown that 4 weeks later, the group who responded with lower NET levels had significantly lower relative NET levels 4 weeks later.

https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/behavioral-neuroscience/articles/10.3389/fnbeh.2021.725091/full

It's an incredibly dense read but I wonder if this could be a related vector to the proposed NET deficiency within hyperadrenergic POTS patients, if mirrored within humans.

Cute Compression Garments

I was wondering if there are any recommendations cute breathable compression leggings that you could reasonably wear under other clothing during the summer. I like to wear a lot of summer dresses and something cute that’s either white or black sounds wonderful and stylable under my dresses (I’m even thinking adding some cute butterfly and flower pins to the outside of the white ones hehehe).

But layering in the summer sounds horrible and so hot even though I definitely think it would make a difference considering my diabetic socks I recently got already make a difference.

Any other garments and cute styling advice for different compression garments would be wonderful, also, when I say styling my goal isn’t to hide them (although it’s valid that some people struggle with that and want to hide them), I just want to find fun ways to add my own personal touch and empowerment to them ^~^.

Trans Women vs. Transwomen

Hey everyone, I’ve recently read some discourse on the affixation/compounding (depending on the etymology of the word, which I don’t have personal knowledge of) of trans onto woman/women to create transwomen/transwoman. A lot of the discourse on the word tends to be surrounding the hierarchy it creates and how it almost seems to create a two classes, trans women and cis women.

Solely for my personal curiosity, I was wondering if y’all think this issue is primarily derived from the prescriptive use of the word being originated from the TERF community to intentionally other us or if it’s a class issue that often naturally occurs when affixing a set population name to name a subpopulation, particularly that of a suppressed minority group.

I know this is such a niche curiosity but I figured surely some word nerd out there has a better understanding on this than I do.

Edit: From what I’m reading, it seems like the most important part of it seems to be the painful history.

My biggest question that I didn’t fully flesh out in the OP is whether there an inherent issue that stems from differentiating trans women from cis women, removed from oppression.

Something I’ve noticed throughout my transition is that I prefer to be recognized as a trans woman when safe to do so because it’s such a big and important part of me. I’m proud to be trans and I wouldn’t really want to have been born cisgender, even though the thought can sometimes be complexly intriguing as no dysphoria would be pretty rad lol.

I think that’s why at first, the argument against distinction didn’t make a lot of sense to me because even though I am a woman, I am a trans woman and I’ve sacrificed far too much to transition to not hold that label with pride. I think the key part that I didn’t fully understand is that the intended distinction that created this word didn’t come from a place of pride, but rather was a failing tool attempted by TERFs to co-opt our language to further oppress us, which explains why it’s so important.

Disability and Mattresses

Hey everyone,

I was diagnosed with POTS recently. Due to this (along with the general fatigue I’ve faced from it through the last 5 years) I spend a lot of time in bed.

I currently sleep on a $250 Amazon box mattress that’s 5 years old. My back is starting to get into worse and worse condition due to this, and I’m sure it doesn’t help with my sleep quality at all as well.

The only issue is that I’m absolutely broke. I keep hearing about the Bear Elite Hybrid mattress but to say it’s out of my price range is an understatement. Is there anything that is good for back pain/snoring at around a $300-$500 budget?

Honestly the cheaper the better because right now I can hardly afford rent consistently but I need something that’s gonna support my body better if I want to improve my sleep quality and have enough energy to change that.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

My Poor Man’s Tilt Table Results

I have been dealing with unexplained fatigue since I turned 18, I’m now 23, MtF. My fatigue has been so severe that I ended up having to drop out of college and almost became homeless on multiple occasions. The other day my partner told me about how POTS can occur in both male and female bodies, so, after researching more into POTS, I realized it lined up with a lot of my symptoms.

I was at my moms today and used her heart rate monitor to administer the test, doing 5 minutes laying down, focusing on relaxing as much as possible (deep breathing, etc.), then repeated the same while standing, recording my heart rate at 2, 5, and 7.5 minutes (I couldn’t make it the entire 10 minutes as I was shaking too much).

My heart rate was as follows:
Rest - 75PRbpm, 98 sPo2
2min - 121PRbpm, 97 sPo2
5min - 129PRbpm, 97 sPo2
7.5min - 133PRbpm, 98 sPo2

I was experiencing extreme shakiness and I had to sit down by the end of it.

Is this consistent with a POTS/ortheostatic hypotension diagnosis? (I didn’t take my blood pressure so I can’t rule out either at the moment.)

Hey y’all, I wrote this poem while trying to unpack the position I hold in the world. For context I’m a disabled trans lesbian from the US. The topics I explore within this are the secondhand guilt, along with the oppression that I’ve suffered from, in behest of Capital. I hope you all find value in it.

The Reflection Of The Mirrored Nameless [OC]

The richness of droplets

Fiends my delight

I reach towards the cusp

Of a half full glass

Or that’s what they told me

When I grew wise enough to question them

As the water surrounds

Without a drink

I bathe away the sin

Others have forced upon me

The denial of wrongs in the face of right

For unreliable is life’s narrator.

“For born clean is the child”

Perception-less

Covered head-toe in mud

As I’m dirty by association

An association unchosen

But forced upon me by my captors.

I’m anointed in blood

Blood that’s not mine

For the screams from their suffer

Embrace my shivering body - all but well fed

Malnourished intentionally

An attempt to enforce the burns on my skin

For I bleed too continuous

Nones able to tell

Where their suffered blood stops

And mine begins

With their burns they encourage

“Partake in the bloodshed and eat all you can”

As like all of the rest

Molten, withered

Chained to The Melting Pot

Pitted our neighbors by design

Cannibalistically lethal mentalities

Force fed by the hands that feed us

-attempted to force me too.

Why serve and stand

When it’s not you who owns

The drops on my hand

I may not be clean

But my filth comes from the insides of the rich who eat me

…

For I have no name.
