I am desperate and need advice!

Hello. Today was my first day at high school ( I am 16, but live in Norway so the system here is a bit different). Anyway I have been struggling a lot with bullying earlier. I hoped this new school could be a new start for me, considering that I could see some new faces. Anyway when they called the names for the classes, a girl (former bully) shouted (in front of more than 100 students) what she was 'really excited' to begin in my class.

I literally broke down.

My first day at high school was ruined.

I went away, crying. I managed to change my class so I did not see her. Now I am not managing to get friends in my class, since most people there have already found "their group".

Someone please give me advice. I apperciate everything, everything can make me feel better.

Thank you xxx

Racism is an issue in the USA. It has grown bigger and bigger lately. Black people mainly experience discrimination in this society. This social issue is an issue in the American society because the issue can affect people's lives. This can lead to the research in a specific area in the USA. This issue can even have led to violence and hatred. This is just one example why racism is an issue in the USA. Several countries are built on traditions, and the USA has different cultures among its inhabitants. This leads us to one important question: How do any progress or challenges related to this issue in the USA, and which one of them weighs the most?

First, it is important to note the importance of this social issue. Black people have lived in the USA for centuries, however they are still not treated in the proper way as white people. Many studies and a lot of articles have clearly shown that African-American citizens have less opportunities, and are more likely to end up with unemployment, substance abuse, and health issues compared to the white people in the USA. This is mainly because of racism. The discrimination affects their mental health badly. For instance, many of the victims of racism got low self-esteem, and that makes them more likely to get mental health disorders like depression, anxiety or trauma due to the experience. When black people experience this they need help. However, as a consequence of the limited opportunities (for example education or getting a job), these people struggle with a lack of money. So seeing a therapist or a doctor to get the help they need is not an option. In the worst case, the discrimination can stop the medical help they really need, many resulting in committing suicide. Therefore this social issue, racism, is really important.

Since this social issue has many impacts, racism may challenge society. It is not easy to remove racism from a society because it is something deeply rooted in hatred, and not easy to get. The state cannot do something about people's opinions, even though there are some laws against racism to hinder it. It will always be there, even though the law says something else, and therefore, the law simply cannot control all people's actions and words. Also, racism has been going on for many centuries because of the slavery and the segregation. They both planted the idea into people's heads that black people are not worth it and they should be underestimated in a society. This mindset has been going on by too long, meaning it is not easy to become like an evil circle with no ending. As a result, people in the USA discriminate the old black people, which makes the mind and the behaviour really difficult to remove. Those are the challenges related to the issue racism in the USA.

On the other hand, there are some progress related to racism in the USA. First, it is important to note that even though the law cannot do something with people's behaviour, many in the US population have taken it into their own hands. For instance, they have started the "Black Lives Matter" movement. The purpose of the movement is to illustrate the significance of the black lives in the USA, due to several events related to racism in the USA (for example the murder of George Floyd or Ahmaud Arbery/Breonna Taylor). After their deaths (where they both got killed with a racist background), many realized that living in a society as a black person in the USA should not be like that. Therefore, the "Black Lives Matter" movement started, which led to more tolerance in the USA, since its purpose is clear, that racism needs to be stopped. Also, some other progress related to racism in the USA is the fact that over 40 percent of African Americans have entered the middle class. This signifies that African Americans have more opportunities, and that racism has increased. This is some important progress related to racism, because due to this, racism increases when black Americans have more opportunities. That is because it shows that people in a society are tolerant to Black Americans, regardless of their history. Those are the progresses related to racism in the USA.

To summarize, there is a lot of progress, and there are a lot of challenges due to racism in the USA. The important thought related to the issue is that racism will always be in a society. Nevertheless, when the population take matters into their own hands, and actually face the issue and talk about it, might be a big progress. Considering that it is made by the people. The population itself can make a change if they want to, and the "Black Lives Matter" movement might be considered as a good head start, since it is a big movement who has inspired many to talk about the issue racism. Therefore, the progress related to the issue weighs the most.

I am broken and need advice

Hello

For a year ago, I tried to talk to teenagers online who struggled with their mental health, because I did so too. I started talking with this girl, who seemed to be very nice. I wanted to be there for her.

We talked a lot, and were close friends. I never met her irl, but I felt like I had known her for years. She helpedet me with improving my mental health, and it got so much better.

Unfortunately, her mentak health was worse than mine. I tried to talk to her about it, but she never answered to my messages when she was down.

Two days ago, she told me she was really down, after a good week. I asked her if she was fine, and I tokd her that I was there for her.

Today, I got a weird feeling. I cant explain how, but I looked up heer name, to see if I could find her parents' number, so I can make sure she is okay, but then I found out that she had commit suicide.

I am broken now. I feel like I could have done something to save her, considering that I was the only close friend she had.

Do you have any advice? I appericiate all kinds of advice.

Thank you x

Men, what makes a girl's personality good (in dating)

Heyy! I have experienced many times that men think that my personality is not good (in a dating context). Once, a classmate asked the guy's in my class if they wanted to date a girl with my personality, and they were like "No", "Absolutely not", "Hell no".

So my question to you men is, what makes a girl's personality good? And I apperciate detalied answers (not kind, funny, and that stuff, more like in what way they have to be kind).
Thank you x

I really need advice to high school

Heyy!

I am starting at high school real soon. I gotta admit, I am really scared and anxious about it. I have never had any close friends in my class, and I have also struggeled with bullying. I have been seen as the weird kid, so I just hung alone. As a consequense of that, my mental health has not been the best, but I am doing real good now. But it hard to engage in group conversations, I prefer one to one convs, which I find a lot easier.

Anyway, my point is, do you guys have some advice for hs? Getting new friends? And if I dont get new friends there, will I get lifelong/close friends at college?

Ps: I also apperciate academic advice, since I want to go to medical school:)

Pss: Where I live hs is from the age 16-19 :)
