What do you think of this? Crime
What is the way forward?

I’m in the UK and I fully understand the historical context, oppression has long term effects, and I’m not denying that at all. I’m Black myself and moved here in 2001, so I’m speaking from lived experience, not from outside the community.
My question is more about when and how we balance acknowledging the past with also looking at present-day factors. I have a growth mindset, so I’m trying to understand the full picture history, discrimination, socioeconomic conditions, opportunity gaps, and everything else that shapes outcomes today.
I recently saw a discussion online about crime statistics and it made me think. I’m not saying ‘Black people blame slavery’ I know it’s far more nuanced. I’m simply trying to understand what contributes to the numbers we see now, beyond just historical oppression.
Please bear with me I’m asking respectfully and trying to learn, not dismiss or oversimplify.
Thank you all.
I AM NEW JUST SAW THE PAGE TODAY.
Money gives comfort, not infrastructure. Flooding hits rich and poor. Kidnappers don’t check your net worth. Hospitals without oxygen won’t revive you because you can pay. Even Anthony Joshua couldn’t get an ambulance. You can buy solar, diesel, security but you can’t buy a functioning country.
Hello to Nigerians living in the UK.
I am in London anyone else, just sayng hello.
Hope you are having a good experience, stressful times for some currently with the economy and immigration noise.
They make mistake with their automated system and the messages are also automated.

Hi All,
This is the issue i am having with my account.
Was suspended on Sunday for inauthentic behavior but got it back on Wednesday.
The issue now is my responses are hidden and just not been the same. Contacted support but they aren't much help just sending genetic responses and links.
Says this post is unavailable.
Have they released the kids and teachers kidnapped in Oyo state, or we all just moved on??
People have turned being a nuisance on X into a full time job because they get paid for it. Some are even cooking up stories and lying about their family and friends deaths, marriages, anything that gets attention.
So Ycee said Nigerians are experiencing an olodo uprising, and suddenly the whole internet is fighting. But honestly, the argument isn’t really about intelligence, it’s about education decline, youth frustration, and the weird cultural shift happening right now.
Here’s the thing:
Jarvis pushed back, saying many young Nigerians are educated they’re just stuck in a system where unemployment is so bad that people end up doing digital hustle, skit making, or content creation just to survive. And he’s right. The issue isn’t “Nigerians are olodo.” The issue is the system is failing people.
Everyone knows it.
Teachers are underpaid, schools are underfunded, and students are exhausted.
People aren’t stupid, they’re disillusioned.
When it’s time to japa, suddenly everyone remembers the value of education. Nobody is calling themselves olodo at the embassy.
We’ve moved from glorifying Yahoo boys to glorifying entertainers who mock education.
People like Peller, Carter Efe, Portable, Lege Miami, Dj Chicken, Tunde Perry, Akpi, Cubana Chief Priest, Opeyemi the food critic, Daniel Regha, etc. dominate the timeline.
Some are funny, some are chaotic, some are outright unserious but they all represent a culture where entertainment is survival.
It’s not that Nigerians are olodo.
It’s that being loud pays more than being educated.
This part is wild.
People are literally:
All because X now pays in dollars.
It’s not stupidity, it’s desperation mixed with the algorithm.
I’ve met Nigerians in the UK who:
It’s not a Nigerian problem, it’s a global digital age problem.
People everywhere want to be entertained, not informed.
But when you mix that with Nigeria’s economic pressure, it becomes louder and more visible.
If you’re a graduate in Nigeria today, you’re more likely to succeed by:
…than by using your degree.
So of course people look “olodo.”
The system incentivizes it.
Nigerians aren’t becoming olodo.
Nigeria is becoming a place where being an olodo pays more than being educated.
And until the incentives change, the culture will keep getting louder, wilder, and more unserious.
Hi everyone,.
Is anyone else experiencing this and how did you resolve it.
Keep getting Something went wrong. Try reloading.
My other account doesn't have this issue just the one that was previously suspended for inauthentic behavior.
What can i do to fix this and don't know how to get support attention.

Even one of my followers has posted asking why. Just shocking.
We have done some renovation work in the past and this has still not been resolved. Does anyone know what we can do please, anyone had similar experience how did you resolve.
Rental property, currently vacant, not sure if tenants open the window and put heating on but trying to do our part.
Thanks
Check on your people in Belfast and UK generally.
Immigrants are going through challenging times in the UK.
The locals are burning houses and cars.
The different countries are getting strict with their immigration policies, see what is happening in Belfast currently.
Msaybe this will force people to take Nigeria situation seriously and demand change.
Hi All,
Any idea what one can do with regards to this kitchen cabinet.
Will it all need to be changed or is there a place we can find something close.
Thanks
think I’m constantly on Twitter and it’s starting to annoy me. It’s fun and entertaining, but it’s wasting so much valuable time especially now that I’m out of work after a redundancy last October.
It feels like I’m using Twitter as avoidance. I need to focus, get another role, and get my life moving because I’m not getting any younger.
If you’ve been through this, what actually helped you break the habit and get your focus back?
Hi all,
My role in financial crime (AML/KYC) was made redundant in October. I’ve had a few interviews, including some 12‑month FTC roles, but I haven’t secured anything yet.
I have over 12 years of experience in financial crime, a BSc in Accounting & Finance, and ICA Diplomas in Governance, Risk & Compliance and Anti‑Money Laundering.
If anyone has advice or leads for roles in financial crime, or suggestions for areas where my skills could transfer, I’d really appreciate it.
Thank you.
All my other areas of life feel a bit stuck.
I’m good with money and have saved/invested well over the years around £400k in index funds and Premium Bonds.
But career wise, things have been stagnant since I was made redundant in October. I used to work in financial crime, but now I’m not sure whether to continue in that field or try something completely different.
Just feels strange to be financially stable but unsure about everything else.
