Quick synopsis: Oregairu (short for My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU) follows a cynical high school loner who is forced to join a school club that helps other students, gradually confronting his own isolation and complex feelings.
I’ve dropped the anime 3 times because it felt it was going to be a typical slice of life and how wrong I was when I picked up the manga version that takes after the novel version and not the anime. The previous manga I read before this was Quintessential Quintuplets which I was confident nothing could overtake it because it was a romance with a twist of mystery.
What makes this manga so great is the character depth and change. Going from the 2 FMLs giving the Hachiman the cold shoulder to feeling like a true family was wonderful to watch unfold. Hachiman might be one of my favorite protagonists of all time to always being deep In thought from how people always have some twisted reason for doing things. How he handles situation was unique because he is definitely an ends justifies the means and is okay with being the villain. I won’t spoil but seeing how he slowly changes as a character was an amazing payoff. Is it a slice of life? Yes, but it’s a slice of life that will keep you entertained every single chapter since every “arc” adds up to a deeper meaning later on. The story format was incredible because the author made it clear it was planned out from chapter one from things being explained something why happened 20 chapters laters from a hint. All of the characters feel human meaning the weaknesses have a “real” feeling and aren’t just that normal one sided. It really gets into morally grey and makes you think.
Apologies but I loved this story and the main characters development was one of the best I’ve ever read and definitely have to call it a masterpiece. The ending will have you pondering if you’ve found something “real”. For those who’ve read what were your thoughts? Have you found anything like this character dynamic wise?
I understand he’s been mediocre but he’s still on the uprise. Even if you don’t want to resign because he’s on his contract year and most importantly, he’s a starter/ an extra guy we could use on the D Line. If the bears did trade him what type of return would you expect?
I’d say Houston, Detroit and maybe Jacksonville have the best with Houston being the clear #1.

These are my favorite romcoms manga wise I’m only 50 chapters through oregairu but Hachiman and Futaro seem very similar.

Hi all I just finished FFX and it was amazing. I love that romance was a core focus and there was other forces pushing the plot forward. What I’m looking for might be niche but there any games that have a critically acclaimed story (maybe major plot twists or just solid story), great romance (characters have interesting dynamic), and a unique soundtrack? I have steam and the switch 2 so maybe games on those. What are some you could recommend? Thanks! 🙏
Hi all love the idea, dungeon diving, getting better gear and upgrading, upgrading your place or restoring town, I find sandbox progression loops to be addicting but I find farming and cleaning very boring. I tried fields of mistria which I liked more but just do not really click with farming. I honestly love being able to upgrade my base/ town/ gear as well. Is there any games like these 2 with less farming?
