Well, I kinda had a hunch any job posts in reddit are either scam or fake. And today it became even more clear. I won't share anyone's profile or chat history for privacy reasons.

Anyways, I got a script writing work through a post, where I was supposed to be paid $100 after the work was done for a 20 minutes long-form video. I treated it as a freelance job and was about to send him an agreement after getting his legal name or his company's name.

He said no, it's fine. Instead he said he would hire me through Upwork. Which was fine too. So to see how legit this job was, I asked him before starting work, I would like 25% in advance, so basically $25.

I was ready to say yes if he said he would follow the previous discussion and pay me after the work was done. Well, surprise surprise, he said he wouldn't move forward with this work.

Thank god I didn't start working when he sent me like 2 hours worth of interviews to study for his script. It turned out to be another scam post to get a free script and thankfully, I escaped a bullet.

So my advice to those using Reddit for finding some work, always get a freelance agreement signed by both sides. It doesn't only protect you, but also your dignity as an independent worker. I know times are tough, for me too. But you have worth. Don't give up and stay vigilant. Scammers are everywhere.

Hey, I'm from India and trying to pursue a career in content writing and digital marketing. I only have one year of experience in writing, and 2 months on social media. I'm really on the brink giving up for good this time. My college ended 2020 and this is literally what I got. No freelance work, no writer job, nothing. Whatever I had so far was pure luck. And that luck seems to run out completely. Please, this is really important. I don't want to give up but 6 years or no results is too much to bear.

Well, I got laid off this Sunday after two out of three founders basically aggred to remove me. The third one and I had a good relation going on. He was friendly and we used to talk about Anime lol.

Despite that, their buisness had some deep holes which they couldn't see. And just like any other place, they don't like being told they were wrong. I kind of knew if I don't stop speaking, I'll lose the job. But if I don't speak up, I'll lose it even sooner since it was my responsibility to take care of the quality of the content. Yeah, I was a SEO and I had it rough.

Well, eventually the day came and it was an instant termination. No notice period nothing. I have my loan emi coming up next month. Don't know how am I going to pay it. Can't find a job in this short amount of time. And even if I do, it's not like they gonna hand over the salary after 10 days of work.

Life sucks. One month is all I have at this point. Probably gonna get sued by the loan sharks or get beaten up. Idk, maybe even worse. Need some motivations my friend. And maybe suggestions how can I find job in this economy.

As for my roles, I am a SEO with one year of experience and an SEO content writer with 3 years. I live in India and 25M. AI fked me up hard. I see no way out now.

I'm planning on switching my wifi connection from Airtel to Alliance. Plans are really good but I don't know how their service is in Rourkela. If you guys have some experience, please share it. I'll also appreciate reviews from other local ISPs like Airnet and Knet. Thanks.
