Planning to take a break in the afternoon and avoid peak heat by retreating to our hotel (non disney). Is this possible without repaying the parking fee?
I noticed this BIOS update contained some changes regarding Silent Performance mode, which is the mode I have my laptop set to 24/7 exclusively (i mainly game on it 99% of the time).
Here’s the BIOS note:
”400W Silent performance setting: The power delivery logic was tweaked for users utilizing massive 400W power supplies, ensuring the laptop stays quiet but stable under specific workloads.”
For those who dont know, silent performance mode can be enabled in the BIOS and essentially gives you (from my own testing) 95% of Performance mode’s performance while keeping the GPU and CPU TDPs not exceeding about 170w & 60w respectively, thereby keeping the fans much quieter than in Performance mode.
The info in the BIOS notes honestly seems vague to me, so Im not sure exactly what its changed. My interpretation is that it better manages power to make better use of a 400w power supply, but if it actually increase silent performance mode TDP, i expect that fans will revving up and being louder to compensate for the extra heat…making silent performance not so silent (at which point, whats even the difference between that and regular performance mode?)
i love my silent performance mode and dont want to gimp it.
Id appreciate any reports from those who understand the notes, and especially those who use silent performance and running the latest BIOS. Thanks!
Had a great time with LaD, really refreshing and was a solid 9.5/10 for me. Infinite Wealth improved on gameplay aspects but didnt have the same impact as LaD to me. Pirate in Hawaii, honestly felt like a filler episode (probably was the point), and I wasnt invested in any of the characters at all. Im in the final chapter.
I was thinking after Hawaii, if it was worth playing from 0 thru 6? I dont know much about Kiryu, but i do recall playing 0 for like a few hours a decade ago (lol) so >!him popping up!< in the LaD games had some impact albeit nothing like what most of yall mustve experienced.
I know this is the yakuza sub so there will be bias, but genuinely speaking and rose tinted glasses aside, is the story from 0 thru 6 worth the time investment? Also if i did play, i would probably just steamroll thru the main story missions, probably ignoring most sidequests and games (which im aware is one of the biggest draws in this IP), as im more main story focused.
Honestly at this point im more of a story and characters guy, especially knowing that the 0-6 games will be dated in the gameplay department.
Not to mention Isshin, and the judgement games but thats a topic for another time. I was more focusing on the Kiryu and Goro stories/history.
Genuinely asking…is it worth it? Or should I just watch a youtube movie/summary? Thanks all.
Is anyone else experiencing the GPU OC randomly turning off on both Balanced and Performance mode on a Legion 7i pro?
I of course prefer to have it on, but every now and then will check Legion Space only to find the OC has been turned off.
I dont change power plans, anything in the BIOS, GPU drivers, etc, to cause it to turn off. Unless im doing something that would turn it off unknowingly.
I ask because I have a backlog on of games im trying to get thru, including other soulslike such as Black Myth Wukong, Stranger of Paradise, Wolong, Lies of P, Stellar Blade, etc…
Sure i can play and enjoy the base game now, but knowing me i dont typically revisit games once beating the vanilla experience. In other words if i play and beat Nioh 3, chances are i wont play it down the road even with DLC releases.
I recall all the hype in anticipation of the launch of the AutoSR feature for Xbox Ally X. Some described it as if it was going to significantly upgrade its graphical fidelity output with virtually no cost to performance. I remember some comments saying that Crimson Desert was going to be playable at 1080p stable 60fps.
Its all been crickets…what happened?
I play games on the native 240hz of im unable to consistently reach 240 fps.
Honestly, anything 120 fps or higher is good to me. With that said, what should i be limiting my FPS to if im only looking for smooth 120 fps performance?
Of course capping at 120 fps would be obvious but i recall some discussions about setting caps some frames below the limit. That And given im well below the display’s 240hz.
Only recently got back into PC gaming, (or PC anything) in general after over 10 years. I noticed my laptop only takes 10-15 seconds to boot into the desktop from a shutdown, which is leaps and bounds better than the 2-3 mins I recall in the days of yonder.
I read sometime ago that hibernate is a preferred alternative to shutting down, but given how quickly computers these days boot up, is that even still a compelling reason?
Any factors i may not be considering outside of boot times? Specifically, and factors pertaining to overall laptop/ssd health?
Was talking to Lenovo support online for a software issue with a laptop i purchased a few months back. Before the conversation ended they offered if i would like extension to basic warranty + ADP for 4 years for $250.
I currently only have 8-9 months on the limited warranty.
Definitely a no brainer when it comes to extending warranty especially devices like these, but is that price an actual good deal?
I cant check ‘normal’ warranty prices because it doesnt seem to have that option for my laptop (pulled up via serial number) on the official website.
New to PC gaming and want to be pro. Been only playing competitive FPS games for about a week, doing alright i guess.
Found out that most good players move more with their entire arm to aim vs. wrist movements. I have a razer deathadder mouse and never bothered to mess with sensitivity literally since i plugged it in, so i guess the default may be a bit high. Aiming with my whole arm feels so unnatural and is messing with my über positive KD ratio.
Is arm aiming a meme or is it a legit thing?
