Reading 1984…

I was just reading George Orwell’s 1984 for the first time, and I came across this. Now in the context of the book, she is choosing chastity due to extensive and controlling governmental propaganda, and in no way am I trying to claim she is asexual. But. I can’t help but wonder how Orwell would feel about Asexuality today.

This just reminded me so much of purity culture arguments and people saying that your wasting your pretty body or whatever, and just makes it seem to me once again that some men only see young pretty girls as sexual objects. As a 20 year old woman, it makes me so upset.

Edit: I know Julia is not asexual, and I wasn’t trying to imply that in any way. This is more about people disliking people who won’t have sex with them, whatever their reason may be!

Is this a QPR?

So, for context, me and my boyfriend are both asexual and have been dating for over a year now (yay!), and we kiss and snuggle sometime, but mostly it’s just, like, being best friends? IDK if this makes any sense but like when I picture doing stuff with him it’s just like normal stuff, doing homework together, talking, going to do fun stuff we both enjoy, and the like. Also, this is the first person I’ve ever dated, and I’m pretty sure I’m at least demiromantic, somewhere on the aro spectrum. Anyway, thoughts?

Where’s the all the tails?!?

Like apart from Husk (and allegedly Alastor) I can’t think of anyone in Hazbin Hotel with a tail, what’s up with that? They all have incredible tails in Helluva Boss!

The ADHD Charm (TM)

Hey everyone, kinda new to this sub so if this isn’t the kind of thing I should be putting here sorry in advance. Also please note these are generalizations, and obviously won’t be true for everyone!

So I’ve heard that people with ADHD are really good at making first impression, because of novelty and hyperfocus and all that. But I feel like for audhd, the autism (sadly) cancels that out. Anyone else feel this way?
