How to curb anxiety around previous loss while my wife is 40+3 and counting…..

Hey all,

As the title suggests, my wife is 40+3 and this is our first baby after a tragic 21 week termination our last time around. And well, the longer this pregnancy goes, the more my stress builds and my mind wanders. I know with every passing week, the probabilities of issue and stillbirth move up, and while I’m trying to keep myself chill, I feel like I’m causing my wife more stress asking how the baby feels, etc.

And before you say it…..I know that the chances of stillbirth are like 5 in 10,000…..but when you have to deal with a rare issue and a termination, those statistics sadly mean nothing to me anymore.

Any tips on how to manage / any of you been in a similar spot before?

40+2 and still no sign of baby…..feel like induction scheduled for Aug 21 is late?

Hey all -

Would love a pov from other moms. Essentially, I’m 41+2 today, had an ultrasound yesterday…..and everything appears to be good? Baby has gone from 35th percentile to 25th percentile in last 4 weeks, but all fetal health, placental and cord function etc look healthy.

My ob gave a membrane sweep and said I’m 2cm dilated, but other than some on and off cramps and contractions, I feel no closer to labor. On top of that , my induction is now scheduled for 41+2 if I get that far. Does that not feel pretty late in the game?

I know risks go up the longer the baby is in there, would love pov from some other Canadian moms.

39.5 Weeks today, and nausea, fatigue, and vomiting are back with a vengeance. Should I be concerned? [on]

Hey all.

I’m now just about 39.5 weeks pregnant, and just today, I feel like a ton of symptoms have come back with a vengeance. I could barely sleep last night due to discomfort and pain, and today I haven’t been able to keep any food down (similar to my first trimester).

I’ve literally been in bed all day, trading between sleeping and throwing up. As this is my first pregnancy I’m wondering…..could this be an early sign that labour is coming? Is this something to be concerned about? Stillbirth scares the hell out of me even though I know it’s unlikely.

As an fyi, baby movements have stayed consistent through all of it.

Thanks everyone, almost there

Keeper Format - to go heavy on value for keepers, or keep immediate impact players?

I am in a fantasy football league where i can keep 4 players, but you need to sacrafice the round you drafted them in to keep them. Would love to hear opinions on who yall would keep in this

(14th Round is waiver wire, so you keep with last available pick). Half PPR and I’m drafting 8 out of 12.

Bo Nix - 14th Round.
Rico Dowdle - 14th Round.
Byashal Tuten - 14th Round.
Etienne - 7th Round.
Jeanty - 1st round.
Tyler Warren - 7th Round.
Jameson Williams - 9th Round.
Chris Godwin - 14th Round.
Mike Evans - 6th Round.

36 week (or comparable) ultrasound experiences? Would love to hear from the crew as we’re a bit anxious [on]

Hey all - we have our 36 week ultrasound tomorrow, getting close! We have no reason to be given our clear anatomy scan and EFTS, but we’re so anxious given some tough news those around us have gotten at this scan recently (dwarfism, significant brain issues). We also haven’t had an ultrasound since 20 weeks so a bit anxious as to what’s been going on under the hood.

Would love to hear from others on their experiences and what to expect!

Thanks :)

How many others got into DRAM? Plan to hold long term, or sell off while you can?

Hey all - would love to hear from others who bought this ETF. I got in around $70, so I’m getting absolutely cooked…..and while I believe in memory and the core holdings within this group…..I’m feeling now that this is way too concentrated and I probably missed the momentum on the run up. I am and would considering holding for the long term……but because it’s so concentrated into a few companies, I’m wondering if I FOMOed in too hard here.

Would love to hear from others on their strategy pertaining to this.

As baby gets closer to coming, wife and I feeling anxiety around declining the NIPT [on]

Hey all,

My wife and I are now entering week 35, and all things considered, baby is growing great and there were no issues flagged thus far! That said, we’re both experiencing anxiety around declining the NIPT as the baby gets closer. We did the EFTS, which showed low risk at 1/2500, so our doctor didn’t push further testing and said it wasn’t totally necessary. All of our ultrasounds have come back 100% clear too between the 12 week and anatomy scan.

Regardless though - we’re both now experiencing anxiety that we didn’t do the deeper NIPT test now that we’re close to meeting her. We know it’s a mixed bag of people who elect for NIPT , but regardless, it’s still occupying our mind time.

Would love to hear from others - did you take NIPT? If you didn’t, did it stress you out?

As a Canadian building his RRSP (Retirement) Portfolio, wondering if this mix is an optimal option for the long term (SPMO, SMH, AVUV)

Hey all. I just pulled my retirement RRSP (About $30K) out of mutual funds, and have invested them into, what I want to be, long term ETFs that I don't need to worry about. My allocation is as follows :

- 50% SPMO

- 25% SMH

- 25% AVUV

Would love to hear any opinions on this allocation and whether it seems like a solid strategy. I know SPMO has beaten the S&P over the last number of years....and SMH is likely not going anywhere with the emergence of semiconductors.

Any POV is welcome!

Too diversified in my TFSA. Seeking strategic opinions on how to consolidate?

Any help would be appreciated here….i think im getting carried away with some of these holdings, but would love an alt opinion on how to consolidate and start to go after some bigger players with bigger sums.

As an intermediate investor - how can I start to strategize and consolidate my widespread portfolio?

Hey all - looking for a bit of a portfolio restructure. I’m an immediate investor and feel like I’ve been chasing some gains too much with smaller plays across a ton of companies…..but want to start rethinking this with some bigger plays across companies I believe in more. This is one of 3 investing accounts - the others primarily hold major banks and ETFS…..so this is the one I play with a bit more.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Fellas….I’m stoked to be a dad. However in the third trimester, intimate time with the wife has died. Just us?

Hey dads and dads to be……as the title suggests. As I read online for different experiences, I notice it’s a mixed bag in terms of intimate relations throughout pregnancy.

It’s been a few months without anything sexual now for us as my wife gets later into the 3rd trimester….shes just not up to it, and of course, I wouldn’t and never push. She’s growing a baby and that’s hard / stressful work. That said, it’s getting to me a little bit the lack of sex.

Would love to hear from other dads on their experiences with this, or are we a bit of an anomaly?

Who is going hard at DRAM today with big drop yesterday and modest aftermarket movement?

Feel like this is the right spot to make an entry ahead of earnings on MU and the Korean performance last night on other holdings.

Edit : Dropped $5K right at the bell. Happy I did

Strong ETFs to pair with SPMO?

Hey all - I bought SPMO in my retirement investment account a few weeks about and am loving it so far (about 60% of the fund holdings went to SPMO). I want to pair it with something that has a relatively high-medium risk profile, but that doesn’t significantly overlap with the fund for the remaining 40%.

Any reccos would be greatly appreciated from how others are approaching pairs with SPMO.

Cheers

DRAM……overall thoughts and anyone looking to capitalize on today’s dips?

As we can all probably tell - this one is volatile and really moves in tandem with micron. Are any of you in this, and what’s your strategy as micron approaches earnings? I’ve been watching from the sidelines and may make a play.

Absolutely zero sex drive for most of my pregnancy, is this abnormal? [on]

Hey ladies -

So this is my first pregnancy, and I can’t help but wonder if my experience with sex is “normal” or common? I had a really rough first trimester and there was ZERO sex. Then as I started to feel better in the second trimester….we got up to maybe once a week for a few weeks, but I still wasn’t loving it…..despite many women saying your drive comes roaring back.

And now at 33 weeks, I don’t think we have had sex in close to 2 months, and it’s causing me some anxiety. I simply don’t feel confident in my body, I’m gaining weight, and I just can’t imagine getting in the mood at any point through the end. That said, I feel like this is distancing my husband and I and it’s bothering me.

Is this a semi normal feeling? Or is something up with me?
