Should they fit like this?
Victory 2 hole grips - size small. The Velcro strap has a long piece that hangs out. It’s annoying.

Now that I’ve healed from my latest palm rip, I think it is finally time for me to try grips for TTB and kipping pull ups. My strict pull ups are fine because my hand isn’t moving on the bar. But anything dynamic is really messing with my hands like never before. I would like grip recommendations. I have very small hands (petite female). I have excellent grip strength. I am afraid that anything thick will mess with my grip on the bar, I’m worried about falling, and I am worried it will feel slippery. I like the feeling of a good strong grip on the bar.
I’m trying to avoid spending a lot of money trying one of every brand.
Before someone tells me to develop callouses: I have good callouses and I put effort into regular maintenance, but I need some extra protection for the palms. Pic is my freshly treated hand after I filed my callouses.
EDIT: fingerless or grips with finger holes? (So many options…)
So…I’ve been doing crossfit for 4 years. About 2 weeks ago I ripped my palm doing TTB. First time with a rip. A giant hole in the center of my palm. I waited a few days until it looked and felt better - then tried a few moves on the bar - BAM! Ripped again (didn’t hurt as bad this time). 😩 Then took a week off. Today there was still a pink circle on my palm, but it felt healed. It was smooth. Got on the bar (5 rounds in the workout). First two rounds were fine. Third round was starting to get spicy. Round 4 - RIP. Again. 🤬 and it hurts bad. I went home and put a hydrocolloid bandaid on it (they are big for heel blisters).
So…now what do I do? Obviously stay off the bar. I’ve been using RipFix on it. How long should I realistically take a break? Any tips for healing it? What about prevention?
I do not have callouses on the center of my palm. I do have callouses below the fingers and I regularly grind them down and keep them smooth - never ripped there.
If it matters - female, 46yo and petite.
What is the difference between walking 5 miles being 30 lbs overweight and walking 5 miles weighing less but carrying 30 lbs in your pack?
Rucking is supposed to be good for bone density as we age. But how does rucking help bone density but being overweight does not? Genuinely curious. 🧐
Educational post:
I’m 46 and 5’0. I was overweight most of my life (size 14). I’m now a size 6. I do crossfit, Pilates, and Olympic weightlifting (barbell club).
I recently had a DEXA scan and RMR testing to find out how many calories I burn just by being alive. I was pleasantly surprised with the results…given that all the TDEE calculations seriously underestimate my BMR.
While most online calculators put my BMR at 1,400 or less, testing revealed I am actually at 1,700!! This is a PSA for everyone who exercises (including weightlifting) and still thinks they need to consume 1,200 to 1,400 to lose weight. That might be below your real BMR! If BMR/RMR testing is available near you, I would encourage you to do it. Especially if you are serious about training and dialing in your nutrition. Also, this is evidence of how weightlifting and building muscle can benefit you (more food!). Also, BMI is meaningless.
I am also working with a Registered Dietitian through Nourish (online). I’m working on a slow cut - eating roughly 1,900-2,000 calories a day for slow sustained fat loss while maintaining muscle.
I’m hoping this helps some of you.
How is this form for a deadlift PR? 240# / 109kg

Edit to add: socks (no shoes), thumb tape and hook grip.
I’m looking for massage gun recommendations. I do Olympic weightlifting, crossfit, and Pilates. I frequently hike and ruck. I am also hyper mobile, which means my joints are loose and my large muscle always take over and cause problems - they are frequently tight and sore. The worst is my hamstrings, quads, trap, and lats.
Price isn’t a concern - I live by the phrase “buy once, cry once” when it comes to important purchases. I need something to give me relief between my monthly therapeutic massages.
I’ve been looking at the TheraGun but I’m wondering if the guns that cater more to deep tissue/ higher forces would be too much for me (so much is geared towards larger men).

If you have done it, what did you think of it? What was your recovery time? Did it help your skin?
I’m doing it next month. I only have a week off work.
Had anyone tried Solaria CO2 laser (face/neck treatment)? What did you think? How was the recovery?
Twice a year I visit out of state family and drop in at a box near them. I absolutely LOVE that box and the people there. I feel guilty that I like the people there better than my own home box. Unfortunately the next closest box to my home would add another 30 minutes to my trip (which is now 15-20 minutes), so trying out another box isn’t an option.
Anyone else like their vacation box better than their home box?
I am on 0.75 estrodial patch. I went on vacation and did not bring enough. I am supposed to change my patch on Saturday morning, but I will not be home until very late Monday night. Should I just skip those few days and put one on next Tuesday at my normal patch change? Or should I pay the $14 to have one mailed to me?
I’m trying to decide what to do. I went on vacation and thought that I brought enough patches for all my changes. I did not. I am supposed to put a patch on Saturday morning, but I won’t be home until very late Monday night. Should I just skip those few days, or would it be worth it to pay someone to mail one to me? The cost of two day mail would be almost $14.
Anyone familiar with the trails in Schuylkill Center in Philadelphia? They are hosting an UltraTrax in September and I’m considering signing up.
I did UltraTrax Massanutten (Virginia) and I barely made it 21 miles in the 10 hours. It’s was hard. I still have some PTSD from that final ski slope.
