OEM mag release?

My (used) 43X came with a metal mag release that causes mags to stick in the well. I would like to replace it with an OEM but Midway is backordered and ebay wants double the normal price plus shipping. Brownells is normal pricing but wants $12 for shipping.

Anywhere out there that has it in stock for normal price, hopefully with free shipping?

U6 Pro mounting options?

So I picked up a U6 Pro to act as a wireless extender and AP for my metal shop. Works great but it only works if I leave it in the window, otherwise the metal blocks the signal.

So right now I just have it leaning up against the window on top but for a more permanent solution I wanted to use an arm mount screwed into the wood above the frame and hang it down into the window.

I ordered a 1" ball mount with arms and a magnetic mount only to discover the plate is stainless steel and obviously not magnetic.

So now I'm stuck and wondering if any of you guys who install these have come up with a solution for either a ball mount plate that matches the mounting holes on the OEM plate or a ferrous metal plate that matches said holes.

Can't use adhesive, as it's in a western facing window and gets to hot.

Anyone had this issue and solved it?

What to do with the spaces at the top of my workshop

First, there really is a subreddit for everything.

Now, I managed to get a really nice deal on some 1.5" Hunter XCI foil. 15 sheets for $750ish delivered.

That covers the three solid walls of my shop but will not provide enough to do the triangles of the truss as well. So I was thinking of going with cheaper, lower R value for the trusses.

I'm more insulating to keep cool air in for the SC summers and not to worried about warming up in our fairly mild winters so is this the play?

Or should I focus on the truss areas and work my way down?

Stuffed animal donations?

My kids are growing up and growing out of their stuffies and my oldest is doing a purge of her room and has a lot of them she wants to get rid of.

Is there anywhere that accepts these as donations for other children?

Third party cameras directly into the back of a Reolink NVR

I didn't see this in the FAQ

I've been working at connecting a few third party cameras to my Reolink NVR for over five hours now, using AI to help me troubleshoot, and it finally spits out that it's impossible to connect third party cameras to the back of a Reolink NVR, that they must be connected through the network instead.
Is this true?

Doorbell will not scan QR code

Everything is installed correctly, it's connected to wifi, but it just will not scan this QR code.

I'm in a shaded area, I've taken off my phone case cover, I've done the screenshot trick, I have a zfold so I even opened it up to try with the bigger screen.

Nothing is working.

Is there a way to bypass this?

Mexican sauce

Green, thick, made with avocado... fairly certain it starts with a B but I can't remember the name.

Solved: borracha, made with tomatilla and avocado

Setting up DNS ad blocking on UDR7

Every tutorial that seems to exist references the old UI by saying go to settings > security

Security no longer exists in my UI, seemingly being replaced with Cybersecure.

So apparently now I have to use the content filter.

So I create new, add my devices, check add block, turn off filtering, and that's it right?

Now how do I know what DNS ad services are being blocked? Is it as good as a PiHole? Should I run them both?

Alphacool Core RX 9070 XT Hellhound GPU hotspot issues

Just finished building the system yesterday.

Running a Powercolor Hellhound Radeon 9070 xt under an Alphacool Core waterblock with a Corsair XD5 pump and XR5 360 radiator.

I'm getting random system power downs while gaming. Thought it was the PSU but HWinfo showed my +12v was good.

Someone pointed me towards the GPU temps. I had HWinfo logging running during the last crash:

GPU core voltage was fine at the time of crash.

GPU hotspot thermal limit hovered at 99%-100.7%

Memory Junction Temp at the time of crash was around 92C

VRM MOS stayed constant at 39C

Even though it says it monitors it, there's no entry in the log for GPU hotspot temperature.

Using HWinfo monitoring, my hotspot temp hovers around 47c-54c during normal use but goes up to the 90's when I start a game.

I installed the thermal pads per the instruction diagrams, but it was suggested that they're too thick and the block isn't making contact with the card.

Did I do something wrong during installation? Was I supposed to "squish" it more?

I now understand why people don't do this much

I'm on the second day of the build and just now got to running lines.

It's not pretty or elegant, and the AIO I had to emergency order from Amazon when my D15 didn't fit doesn't help with the way the lines run... but hopefully after I run all my cables it will work.

Quick question on thermal pads

Installing my Alphablock Core and the directions show to apply the pads to the cooler.

Would I be better served putting them directly on the chips to ensure proper contact?

Also do I need to alcohol clean the chips after removing the old thermal pads? Common sense tells me yes but I want to make sure.

Question on setup

I set my server up yesterday and it required me to break out an old monitor and keyboard to do so for I/O purposes and got me wondering; do you guys just keep spare legacy hardware around for this sort of purpose or are their modern solutions I'm not aware of?

Well, guess I know what I'm doing this weekend

Just arrived, but my kid wants to help me with the new build so I have to wait until she's out of school.

USB creator tool doesn't see flash drive

Hi all, trying to install unraid to give it a trial but I can't get it to see my USB drive.

It's a 64gb SanDisk Ultra Fit USB 3.1 drive

I used rufus to fully format it to fat32 and it didn't show up so I started digging.

Found the legacy method, tried that, ran the make_bootable script and it said it was successful, still doesn't show up.

Is this drive just not supported, or is there something I'm doing wrong?

*edit to give the full name of the drive*

I'm in need of direction.

So a few years ago I pulled a Liquid Devil 6950rx out of a bin at one of those stores where they resell Amazon returns and whatnot. Got it for $14.

Was so excited that I started slowly buying components to build a pc around it, which meant water cooling equipment.

Then depression hit and I lost interest in everything and all the stuff just gathered dust and I just kept using my PC built around a GTX975 and it worked fine since I wasn't even gaming that much anymore.

Flash forward to last Thursday when Subnautica 2 went into EA. I actually got excited for a modern game, bought it and installed it... it runs but at like 15-25 FPS. Not good.

So I dug out all the parts I had bought and took it to a local pc store, was just going to pay to have them build it for me as I don't have the workspace at home to do so.

Well, as you probably guessed from the start, the GPU is bad. Any time the card goes under any stress it resets the computer and creates a GPU driver timeout error.

Which brings me to my help request: what would be the best direction to go in in getting a water cooled GPU to work with all the equipment I have for this build?

There's a few used liquid devil 7900s out there for around $1000, or is there a more modern card/block combo that would get me where I want to be for cheaper and easier? Or even a used market?

If I left out anything pertinent please let me know and I'll provide it if I can.
