DJI Mavic 3 sent to DJI through insurance - but it’s discontinued?

I bought a used Mavic 3 a recently and it’s suffered an unfortunate incident. I contacted DJI prior to this happened to get DJI Care/ refresh but they said as it’s discontinued and they don’t sell them, they can’t offer this.

The drone flies fine, just the entire gimbal and camera mount became detached and lost during a collision.

After the incident and claiming though my third party insurance, it went to their repair guys and they said they can’t fix it so it needs to be sent to DJI.

Now, I know I’m not that lucky in life to be surprised with a nice upgrade but do they still have parts and repair their discontinued drones?

Am I being unreasonable? Unhappy client.

Another division of a Client sends a brief stating they want a UGC FAMILY/ KIDS style reel from the POV of a mum, they don’t want it too “advert like”. They send me a bank of footage and it’s all pro-shot footage of adults, no kids.

I luckily had some footage I shot with some kids (unfortunately, it was more pro-shot style for a promo video I did a year ago) of kids and a mum.

I thought it’s the only footage available that involves kids so I whacked together a load of clips of kids and mum having fun and did a script, AI mum VO and sent it over.

I got some feedback with a few people copied in saying it’s not what they asked for - it’s NOT UGC at all and they would like a call. They don’t like the obvious AI VO (this is fair, it’s a decent AI but I get 100% wanting a human but then we need to discuss how to obtain that or potentially hiring someone at an extra cost.

I thought it was the best I could do with what I had and maybe because I’m a little stressed with some other things going on so i feel like I’m gonna jump on this call and put my foot down and ask what they expected for a UCG reel with no UCG footage.

My reply is going to be something like:

“Hey, no problem I can jump on the call. Unless I missed some footage, it was all pro-shot footage of adults playing and I dug out some shots I had of kids and mums playing as I thought it was the most suitable. Do you have any UGC clips? Would you like me to go and shoot something for this? The VO can be replaced easily by someone else if you have something in mind.”

A brand that uses Cyan and Magenta - Looks so off in print.

My brain is running on fumes, so apologies if this is a mess and struggling to put my question into words.

I'm more on the beginner side of things, doing some digital and print work from a brand that has its main colours as Cyan and Magenta.

Obviously, it looks great in RGB digital, but I'm scratching my head when it comes to print.

I know the difference between RGB and CMYK and all of that, but when designing a suite for a campaign, I use these colours on a background (navy in this instance, from the branding) and when I design in CMYK for print, I use the supplied CMYK values and on the same navy background (with the provided CMYK equivelant) there is no where enough contrast that looks suitable - compared to the RBG equivalant where the contrast between colours is fine.

Am I doing it right, using the same colours for the RGB designs for print, but swapping them for the CMYK values for the print versions?

How to make these look more 'realistic?'

Hey Guys, in need of some support and guidance here. I created these for a client, and the feedback was to make them less 'edited' and more realistic.

We struggled getting candid photos on the equipment and really struggled for time, so I opted to try some more stylised compositing shots (something like a themepark would do) as they needed something HQ (rather than GoPro or 360 cam shots).

I have tried some subtle motion blur on the background nearer to the outer edges of the images, but wondering if there are any tips you can pass over. Feeling a tad deflated as I worked soooo hard on them. Thanks!

DJI Care Refresh - Sent me a new Osmo 360

Not much point to this post, but DJI's experience was incredible.

Bought an OSMO 360 last year and got the DJI care. Last week on a shoot, a client chipped one of the lenses. I paid the £23 excess and sent it away this Wednesday. It's Friday, and I have a brand new boxed one delivered to me this morning.

I was expecting a replacement lens as the rest of the device was fine, and I'd have been happy with that.

Love it

How much is the going rate per reel these days? Is this too much?

I'm running a fairly new creative agency (solo at the moment)

Been offered some work creating 1 reel per week for now, but it will be increasing to 2+. The company is fairly big and expanding rapidly. I'll be getting a full brief and plan for the reels from the client (such a rarity these days). I'm also thinking of also sending a retainer offer.

I try to avoid editing reels because it's not something I personally enjoy, but it's a bit more money to counteract the preparation of dropping an annoying client.

I'm UK-based, but the company is in the US & Canada.

They are wanting prices for each reel and static ad design. My first thought was £350 as that's a day rate on the lower end.

Thanks for any help!

I just shot the worst video of my career.

Dreading to edit this monstrosity and just want to cry to anybody who wants to listen.

Been doing video and photography for around 12 years. A client of mine is an activity park that has franchises all over and I’ve been shooting for on and off since the very start of my career. Got a call that one location wanted some videos and pics doing…fab - something I’ve done many times before.

Well. I got to this particular venue and oh my god. What I can only describe as a dark and dungeon-like void. Horrific house lighting with black painted walls. Everything looked tacky. It was in a basement of a shopping mall so had that shiny car park flooring that was just all peeling away. So many broken things, taped off parts that they didn’t want filming. Off-brand Microsoft word signage. Soooo many super dark spots that was like shooting into a black hole next to a grey concrete wall. Saw a rat run past me. It was like a thousand degrees down there and I was sweating buckets running around after kids with a heavy gimbal and camera.

This place had no redeeming qualities to shoot. Nothing of interest and I’m pretty optimistic.

The kids they got in for the shoot were…well, kids and whilst I’ve worked with great kids and bad kids, kids are kids (take a shot) and just want to run wild and don’t care about the camera - which is the reason they have come here for. You let them run wild and get it out of their system and then they are too tired to pose and shoot afterwards. If you try and shoot before, they don’t want to participate because they just want to run wild. I don’t blame them - they are kids and that’s their nature. It comes down to luck who you get sometimes.

I always try and avoid kids under 8 because they are super hard to direct (unless you get those absolute stars) and I got all under 8 years old.

I got no good hero shots. NONE. I heard the client changing the deliverables as we were shooting. I didn’t get enough footage for what they are now wanting. But that’s unfair and I’m usually very flexible.

They wanted loads of food shots for the menu, then brought everything out in horrid takeaway containers that showed the grease stains and said that’s what they are served in so can’t use plates. Getting decent food photography is a whole art in itself and takes so much time and effort.

I had a look through the footage and my god it’s going to so hard to piece something half decent together. Wish me luck!

Okay, wining over.

Is the DJI Ronin RS2 Pro sufficient in 2026?

Currently have the rs3 mini and it’s not quite holding up for my Lumix s5iix with 24-60 with cage.

I don’t need anything fancy and mostly shoot handheld but would like a gimbal that does the job of stabilising whilst not needing to take off the cage.

I’d love an rs4 and rs5 but can’t justify the price for my needs.

Any help is appreciated!

Weird coolant behaviour- please help!

Hey, just wondering if I can have some help as i have tried to google this and left even more confused.

Car:
Citroen C3 2018 diesel 1.6

Issue:
I was cleaning it the other day and popped the bonnet to check the oil and screen wash etc. I noticed the coolant reservoir was totally empty. Like, bone dry. I don’t have to be a mechanic to know that’s not good!

No idea how long this has been the case - engine hasn’t ran hot nor had any unusual issues or noise. I made sure not to drive it and ordered some general coolant from Amazon prime. It arrived (fluorescent green) and filled it up - the previous coolant was pink.

I checked it after 24 hours of no driving and it had stayed put. Went and ran some errands yesterday and checked it this morning (cold car) and it has gone from max to min and the colour has gone a murky brown colour.

Does this mean there is a leak in the radiator?

I’m worried as I have to drive 4 hours down south tomorrow and no garage has the time to look at it.

Any help is appreciated!

Are we actually ever going to see The Circus Tour Dress rehearsals?

Whilst being appreciative of all the leaks we have gotten over the years, the one thing the Britney community has been begging for is The Circus Tour dress rehearsal footage.

It's out there. People have this file. It's been 18 years. Fans, including myself, have offered to set up a fund if money is involved.

Do you think we will ever get this file?

▲ 3 r/Lumix

I recently updated to the latest firmware to enable me to use the awesome lumix flow but I’ve noticed that I can’t lower my shutter speed under 25 (when switched to ISO over angle.

This used to happen before and I’d have to switch to manual for it to go under 25 for the shutter drag effect but now it just doesn’t let me.

Is there another way to do this?

Freelancer here - I do more video and photography than design, but is this fair for what I'm charging? UK Based.

Client: An emerging attraction opening stores globally

Design work:

Window Vinyls (multiple stores), including mockus, then final print designs consisting of multiple window panes and doorways £500 per store) - Some of these have had up to 9 revisions with multiple options.

Meta/Google ads - Each graphic has 6 ratio variants (for insta, google, FB) 27 (then times 6, so 162) £550

is this fair?

I'm shooting for a client this weekend - I've done a shoot for him before for his other business, and he's a nice guy.

His new business, which I'm shooting for, has a simple-ish wordmark logo. Upon looking at it, not even that closely...it looks like when you paste an image with words into Illustrator and 'Image trace' it. You know how the corners and edges become janky?

It really does look like a very amateur logo in whole, and I'm no pro designer.

I wasn't sure to maybe offer to help him clean it up, or maybe just re-design it? It depends on if he's used it yet for any print material, I guess.

Do I just ignore it or do I offer to help?

Bit of a noob when it comes to this but I've been asked by a company in Canada to design some large window vinyls for a company in the US and i'm in the UK lol.

There are 2 locations, using 2 different print companies. Both have sent over a PDF with the images and measurments of the glass panels - nothing else. No measurements of the mullions separating or anything else. (The design will spread over multiple glass panels). Am I meant to know the mullion dimensions to make sure everything lines up correctly?

Do these printers usually have a spec sheet as a checklist for the file we design and hand over, like their preferred bleed, colour profile etc.? Or is this not the norm?

I did email one of the companies and had no response.
