Hayden Panettiere in Murder on Trial in Italy

Hayden Panettiere in Murder on Trial in Italy

I thought this movie was well done. Hayden Panettiere was excellent as Amanda Knox. I was sad to learn of her passing today at age 36. RIP, beautiful, talented soul.

Do my symptoms sound like IC/Painful Bladder Syndrome?

Hi all, I've been dealing with these symptoms off and on since February of this year:

- urinary urgency

- feeling like my bladder isn't empty after peeing

- a sore feeling around my bladder/lower abdominal area

- lower back pain

-- sometimes feeling like absolute crap

- sometimes white tissue-like particles floating in urine (one of the urogynecologists I saw said it's probably lining of my cervix slougihing off. I thought maybe it could be my bladder lining.

I've seen two different urogynecologists. The first one thinks I have genitourinary syndrome of menopause and overactive bladder. The second one thinks I have either IC or Overactive Bladder. She told me symptoms overlapped. The first doctor prescribed estradiol estrogen vaginal cream and Phenazopyridine (the active ingredient in Azo) The second one told me to continue using the estrogen cream and ordered pelvic floor therapy, which I'll start next week.

I have gone through periods of a month or 6 weeks without symptoms and then they come back. I think I'm having a flare now. What do you think? If you do think it's IC , what has helped you? Also, if you don't mind sharing, how were you diagnosed,

Thanks for your help.

Characters that you like more and ones you like less after rewatching the show

I find myself watching re-runs of the show on Pluto a lot lately. I'm not sure why, but it's somehow comforting. I now think differently about some characters.

Characters I like more now:

  1. Donna. She really comes across as a good friend. Tori did a good job of showing Donna's silly and serious sides, too.

  2. Valerie. After rewatching a bunch of episodes, I now see her as more complex than I used to. While she was manipulative at times, she also showed she has a good heart. Her childhood trauma storyline really touched me. I now have a soft spot for her. Great job by Tiffani in portraying Valerie's good and bad girl sides.

  3. Steve. The lovable goofball grew up and showed real maturity when he got married and had a kid. I was especially touched by how he handled the situation with Janet's parents. Ian Ziering is underrated.

Characters I dislike more now:

  1. Kelly. Too many reasons to list. Can't stand her.

  2. Brandon. His self-righteousness gets on my nerves.

  3. Dylan. With age, I am no longer attracted to bad boys, lol. Dylan moped a lot. I really hate how he hurt Brenda and really hate him with Kelly, too. Having said that, Luke Perry was a good actor and did his best with what he had to work with

I should also mention characters I've always liked:

  1. Brenda. She's my absolute favorite. Shannen really captured Brenda's vulnerability.

  2. Jim & Cindy: the perfect Midwest parents.

  3. Jackie Taylor. Because she kept it real. Kudos to the actress who portrayed her.

How about you? Which characters do you like more, and which ones do you like less after rewatching the show?

Widows Bay history

Please share about the island's history --;whether it's a timeline of events you put together yourself or another resource.

Imagine your high school history teacher in Widows Bay, what are the most important events you would cover?

What minor Widow's Bay character deserves an episode in Season 2?

In a recent interview, WIdows Bay director, Hiro Murai, talks about being obsessed with Garrett, the lighthouse keeper. He isn't sure if he can sustain an episode or what he wants out of an episode with Garrett, but is very curious to find out more about him..

Of the minor characters (like Rosemarie, Dale, Gerrie, Kurt, Bechir, PJ, Gil), I'd like to see an episode focused on Dale. Whose backstory are you most interested in?

Trivia - Patricia's Sunset Cocktails playlist: Who performed the lead vocals on Corona's " The Rhythm of the Night"?

Fun fact: While the face and visual performer of Corona's Eurodance 1993 hit "The Rhythm of the Night" is Olga Souza, a Brazilian-born singer and dancer, the powerful vocals were actually performed by Italian singer Giovanna Bersola, also known as Jenny B.

Apparently, Bersola had stage fright and preferred studio work. So Souza lip synced the song and fronted the group both on stage and in music videos.

Disappointing appointment with new doctor

I just need to vent. Yesterday I had my first appointment with a doctor I'd been waiting to see for 5 months. My other doctors and online reviews raved about her warm bedside manner, how much time she spent with patients, etc.

My experience with her was beyond underwhelming. She seemed to be in a hurry, was unprepared (I called her office in advance to make sure she had access to my chart from another hospital system), and spoke to me in a way that made me feel like I was wasting her time.

At the beginning of the appointment, I let her know I was seeking a second opinion and was potentially interested in changing providers. I did my best to summarize my situation, but she interrupted me several times. She was looking at my other doctor's notes on the computer and asking me questions. I felt she understood some, but not all, my issues and concerns.

Maybe she was having a bad day. She was brusque. I wondered what happened to her warm bedside manner. I wondered if there was something about me. Even though I clearly said why I was consulting with her, she asked: "What is it that you would like me to do for you?" One of the things I wanted her advice about was a procedure my other provider wanted to do. This second doctor said it wasn't indicated or necessary in her view. So that was something. As for the diagnosis, she was kind of wishy washy, saying that two different conditions have similar symptoms and treatment options. One of them differed from what the first provider recommended, and I plan to pursue it.

Maybe it wasn't a complete waste of time. I just had an uneasy feeling about it. I definitely have "doctor fatigue". I find meeting new doctors especially stressful. In recent months, I've also been having issues with my primary care doctor. I hate that I can't just say "enough! I'm done with this!". I hate that I have to go. I'm tired -- mentally and physically. I know you guys understand. So much of my life is consumed by being chronically ill. I've also had some recent medication changes, which have been hard on me.

Thanks for reading/listening.

Who's your favorite Doc Martin character? Who is your least favorite?

Besides Martin, my favorite character is Mrs. Tishell. Her fawning over Martin is hilarious.

My least favorites are PC Penhale and Louisa. For some reason, Penhale gets on my nerves. He's like a stage 4 clinger with Martin, lol. I liked Louisa in the beginning, but as time went on, she was always whining about something. To be fair, being married to Martin isn't a picnic, but she often comes across like a Debbie Downer.

Gone Mom: The Disappearance of Jennifer Dulos

I just watched this for the second time. The made-for-TV movie is based on the true story of Jennifer Dulos (played by Annabeth Gish), a Connecticut mother of five who disappeared on May 24, 2019 after dropping her children off at school. The investigation revealed marital problems leading the police to look at the husband, Fotis Dulos (played by the extremely handsome Warren Christie), as the primary suspect despite his claims his wife had staged her own disappearance as in the 2014 film “Gone Girl.”

10/10. Highly recommend.

Long time lurker. First time poster here. I'm hoping to get some insight and maybe some advice about my current situation.

I worked with my previous therapist for 2 1/2 years until late last year when she became ill and needed to take time off for work. What started out as a few months away has now turned into indefinite leave. I miss her so much. Since she left, she's been in touch a few times -- short emails to let me know about her extended leave, kind words of encouragement, and also encouraging me to work with another therapist while she's off work.

It's taken me a little while to find a new therapist. I recently had two sessions with a therapist who has a background as a social worker working with patients who have chronic illnesses. As I have three chronic illnesses, I thought maybe they would be a good fit. I've mostly worked with female therapists, but this one is male. I'm trying to keep an open mind.

I also have C-PTSD, medical trauma, and anxiety. I want to give it a little more time, but there are some things that bother me about how the sessions I've had with this therapist have gone:

- He spends a lot of time talking about himself.

- He brags about being the "lead therapist" in his group

.- He hasn't asked me about my goals for therapy.

- We've talked about a current difficult situation I have with one of my doctors. He gave me his take, but didn't seem to pick.up on the nuances of what I expressed. I can't help but think my previous therapist would have validated my feelings.

- Towards the end of the last session, I asked if we could work on a specific topic I struggle with. He didn't respond. I know he was already thinking about his next session, because he mentioned it a couple of times. A few minutes later when we were wrapping up, he said "I know what I'm going to do with you." That gave me pause.

- We talked about homework during our first session. He actually brought it up. Yet when I asked about it during the second session, he said it was too soon and that we were still in the process of building a rapport. Okaay...

My intuition is telling me that most likely this person isn't the right fit for me. At the same time, I realize it's still early. I'm wondering how much longer I should give him. I don't have a good feeling about him talking so much, not asking me questions, and not communicating his understanding of what I've said. I'm going through an especially difficult time with my health and like I said earlier, with one of my doctors. So I was expecting support from this therapist. I don't feel it or much warmth from him.

I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions. TIA.
