Surely this experience is now indistinguishable from just showing up to the restaurant with no prep and ordering something? What in god's name is the point of offering an option for ordering ahead and collecting my food if it in no way impacts the amount of time I'll have to spend waiting in the restaurant? All you've given me is the illusion of control and expediency while actually just adding a completely unnecessary wrinkle to the ordering process. Do you think I'm not going to come get the food I've already paid you for ahead of time? To what end would you give me an option to say "hey, I want to collect this food and will be here to pick it up at this time" and then when I get there only then do you start making the food?

I get it. We're all wired differently. But I can't be the only one who finds it grating to talk to people who are extremely literal and only able to view discord things at face value and on strictly practical terms? There are few things more psychically taxing to me than getting stuck in a conversation with someone who takes your metaphor or analogy or hyperbole and just immediately interprets it in its most straightforward, literal terms while being unable to parse the true meaning of overarching intent behind it.

Let me preface by saying there's nothing wrong with loving your job. If you're fortunate enough to truly do something that enriches your life and makes you feel grateful and happy to do it, that's great.

But I'm referring to a certain kind of job lover. The kind who sees other people voicing valid complaints about hustle culture or the gig economy or the instability of the job market or the exploitative practices of modern employers and feel compelled to butt in with a "WELL MY JOB IS AWESOME AND PERFECT SO I'M AFRAID WHAT YOU'RE SAYING IS SOMEHOW LESS RELEVANT AS A RESULT" or a "WHY DON'T YOU JUST QUIT AND GWT AN AWESOME JOB LIKE MINE?"

We get it. You're doing great. But this is the equivalent of entering a burning building where people are preoccupied with extinguishing the fire and being like "well, guys, my house down the street is fine. Have you tried just having a house that isn't on fire? It's all about mindset!"

"What is this?"

"Can someone tell me X?"

"Where is Y?"

I can't stand people who refuse to do their own research or look into things. It's especially prevalent on social media, where people literally have a magical box that can retrieve any information they so desire, but instead of just typing something into Google or even asking AI, they'll just be like "uhhh what that mean" or expect you to explain even the simplest concepts to them.

I'm down £10k this year. Here's a list of the mistakes I've made so you can laugh at how genuinely retarded I am.

- got tempted into day trading by early wins with safer investing during a bull market

- Didn't just dump it all on an ETF, chased individual stocks instead

- had a short term mentality which led to me wanting short-term wins over long-term gains

- became addicted to checking stocks to an unhealthy degree, which led to overtrading and panic selling

- got swept up in too many hype and memestocks due to the aforementioned short-term mentality

- got greedy on short-term gains, not pulling out during green periods in the hopes I would see higher greens and then inevitably falling into red

- got swept up in WallStreetBets and thought I'd try to recoup recent losses with the SPCE/SPCX meme

- Became emotional when I started losing, chasing my losses instead of just accepting them and lost some more

And that's just to name a few. I am the single worst trader who's ever lived and a shining example of why some people deserve to be poor. AMA.

My investment journey has been one of hubris, poor decision making and endless crashing. I'm not too worried since I started with nothing anyway and I'll probably end with nothing when this is all over, but I just want this to be a precautionary tale - stupid people have no place in the stock market. It's not a game everyone can win. Learn from my example and protect yourself from yourself.

I'll probably be completely bust this time next year and, while it doesn't really bother me because I'm a subhuman bottom feeder who never expects anything good to happen, I just want my losses to give some people the strength to think and act clearly.

I currently have 14 and I generally like all of them, but I do think I could potentially trim down to like 10.
