I just started a new job at an interventional psychiatry clinic. The providers are nice, my schedule is great, and i absolutely love the patients as well. Today is my second day and essentially, my first day one of the providers said I was hired to help with IVs…. I was confused immediately.

I’m rooming patients, taking vitals, even removing IVs, but I know in Texas MAs aren’t supposed to legally start IVs.

Well the director of this clinic is out of California, and he had said they only hired EMTs before since they can start IVs…..however he sent a message yesterday saying they want to dedicate 4 weeks to IV training me (and future MAs), and even the providers are confused if it’s legal.

I mentioned I can get my emt certification….im just confused and afraid I’m gonna lose my job since I’m not able to start IVs.

Has anyone experienced this? Am I able to legally start IVs under a providers delegation?

I appreciate any insight. I have done research but am still a bit lost and concerned about my position now.

Essentially I went over to my bf’s place for the first time and it was messy. I mean, stuff lining the walls and just essentially no organization. My Bf’s room had tons of unfolded laundry everywhere, and a few water bottles here and there. It definitely had a lot of stuff on his desk, tv stand, etc.
For context though, he was packing for a month long trip to Europe and just did his laundry. I did notice he didn’t clean the room really before he left on the trip.

I was honestly just kind of surprised he lived that way. I mean I can’t tell if he’s just a messy person, if I caught him at a bad time, or if it’s kinda a shit show because it’s two guys under one roof with no pressure to clean much. They’re also both college students living on a college campus so they’re often busy working or in class.

So I’m wanting thoughts of other men on this. This man is amazing, I mean, he understands and helps me with my physical disability and I’ve never met anyone like him. This is something small I’m concerned about and don’t want to say anything if it’ll hurt him.

Any thoughts on this? [27M, 27F]

I went to my bf’s place for the first time after 3 months of dating. Listen, this guy is amazing, I can definitely see a future with him if everything works out.

Well, he lives with his male cousin, so I assumed it couldn’t be the cleanest…. It isn’t necessarily a hoarder house, but every counter has something on it. The carpets and entire apartment reeks of cat urine and his room was full of laundry and empty bottles/trash…I mean everywhere.
I was surprised he was comfortable having me over with it being that dirty, especially after seeing how organized and clean I am.

It’s not the end of the world, but I kind of worry about how he lives and if that’s something that will translate poorly if we ever did live together (in the FAR future).

I guess it’s just kind of a surprise that he lives that way…. Has anyone experienced this? Is it something I should be concerned about lol.

(I am also aware it’s only been 3 months but I’m a very clean person and it was just shocking given how responsible and well rounded he is as a person)

TLDR: he lives in a very messy apartment and I’m wondering if that’ll cause issues down the line…

So I recently changed therapists and the one I’m seeing now is essentially only doing meditation among other surface level things with me.
I’m someone that needs to talk things out. I get weekly situations I need to vent about, but the last 3 sessions haven’t even had any conversations leading into my personal life.

I can’t tell if it’s just because I’m a new patient or what, but I’m wondering if I should just start looking elsewhere. He will ask “is there anything you need to discuss?” And that’s it. No further conversations and it’s just, kind of discouraging bc I don’t feel connected or comfortable getting deep now.

Is it worth the risk to have intercourse while in a Lupus flare? Is there a high risk of getting ulcers down there?

I’m currently in a flare and have had a ton of mouth and nasal sores this time around. I can tell my symptoms are gradually building up, including increasing muscle/joint pain and such.

I’ve read that the sores can happen on mucosal tissues, and mechanical friction can cause them during a flare. That being said, I am curious as to if anyone has experience with this!

I graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos in December. I am a certified medical assistant with a ton of volunteer work in healthcare. I have applied to soo many jobs, everyday.. I just want to work in a clinic setting.
I interview very well, I just don’t have any experience and don’t know what to do. I’m super discouraged right now and wish somewhere would just give me a chance!!

Unfortunately I can only work part-time, which is another hurdle here. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas I’d appreciate it.

Sometimes I have to care for his hygiene, like cleaning his ears and I end up bruised and hurt. Anytime I go to touch him this happens. He’s only 8 months.

I’m having some problems with my 2008 Lexus IS 250 essentially it has been jerking when going up in rpm and stalling out in reverse on occasion .
It also has a ghost code that is coming and going. I managed to catch it one day and it was P 2757. I immediately took my car to a transmission shop where they did a free evaluation and they said that my transmission is fine and that I am having a lot of misfires on my car in multiple cylinders. I’ve been told that I need to replace my spark plugs and coils

I have a friend that is experienced and willing to change my spark plugs and coils for a good price, but I am just wanting to get another opinion as to if this will fix the problem. I was told that the code that I’m receiving is likely a false code due to the misfiring.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

I have hit my limit with my dog and I am so sad. He is 8 months old and so sweet in certain moments, but his mouthiness, jumping and fearfulness has made it extremely hard to enjoy being around him.

The mouthiness/biting has become extreme to the point that I cannot handle him properly most times. And if I do manage to throw a treat down or distract him with a toy in his mouth, he’ll drop whatever it is and then turn and bite me. Even after long walks, playing for an hour, he will do it.
Earlier he even jumped off the bed while biting my wrist and wouldn’t respond to anything.

I always keep a leash on him for these reasons, so I can grab him before he hurts my other dog or my mom. But I am just at a loss. My local trainer said they’d help me for $2,400. I can’t afford that.

And if it’s not jumping or biting, he is scared of any noise or movement outside of our house (does well in public though) so I am often pulled to the ground since he is almost my size (I am a small lady).

Has anyone been through this? I’m losing hope and more frustrated and scared to be around him than not. I’m not sure how I’m not supposed to be scared of him when I know any interaction will give me a bruise and pain.

My 2008 IS250 is throwing code P2757 and I'm stressed. It stalls sometimes when I shift from Drive to Reverse once it's warmed up (backing up in parking lots or roads). It also jerks or hesitates if I try to accelerate fast.

The weird part is that it sometimes runs better with a full tank of gas, but the stalling gets worse when the tank is low.

Does this sound like I just need new solenoids or is the whole transmission shot? I’m a student and can’t afford a full $5k replacement, so I’m hoping to just fix the solenoids and get through the year.

Any advice? I’m taking it to a transmission specialist on Friday and don’t want to go in blind.
