I think many people here will agree that the "Can I run GTA VI on ___" posts have become pretty tiring. Can we just stop them now that they've been overused so much that every other post on this subreddit is that.
My hardware is as follows:
One major thing that I'd like to add is that I've ran these games on linux and linux generally consuming lesser resources than windows and using software like DXVK (which you can install on windows too but I'm not sure how, You can refer to this video for GTA IV on windows using DXVK).
Personally, I've tried Max Payne 3 on both windows and linux and on windows the game was barely playable while on linux it was playable at about 20-30 fps.
List of games I've ran on my system:
- GTA IV: Capped fps at 30, ran almost everytime at 30 fps
- GTA V: Ran fine on 30 fps, still capped at 24 to prevent micro drops, some drops to around 20 fps in highly lit areas at night
- Max Payne 3: Don't have a fps count but was playable (completed many times!), slight drops when flashing lights on the screen (especially when switching from gameplay to cutscene and vice versa)
- Snowrunner: Ran good at 30 fps, capped at 20 as well as 24 fps, playable both the times, slight drops to 18-20 fps at times Recommend turning off the exhaust smoke to reduce fps drops
^(Like I've mentioned earlier, I've ran these games on linux so I have no idea of how they'll perform in windows but MP3 performed very poorly on windows.)
^(Linux might or might not be for you but it is worth giving a shot and trying these games yourself.)
While I align more towards simulation games like ETS2/ ATS and Snowrunner, I also like the driving style in Driver San Francisco.
I'm not a fan of racing games btw, NFS (MW and Hot Pursuit), Test Drive Unlimited didn't click with me
Also, I'm thinking to give Farming Simulator (the older ones 17, 19 a try)

20 fps on games like ETS2/ ATS and Snowrunner is manageable given the specs.
I was experimenting with different resolutions in American Truck Simulator and found out that 1280x720 fullscreen through game settings looks very pixelated whereas 1280x720 windowed but fullscreen forced using Plasma looks slightly better.
Is there any way that I can force this fullscreen effect from Plasma's side applied every time I launch the game? I use bottles for launching the game and use the windows build, not the linux native.
I tried "Configure Special Application Settings..." but that didn't seem to work but I think something can be done there to force the fullscreen.
Fixed! Had to force the fullscreen property and add the name of Window Class (application): steam_proton
Had to use CJ since no npc was close to the movie characters.
