Lovin the Dollar Store

I ran across a Trick or Treat bag at the Dollar Store the other day show casing Tigger and Winnie the Pooh. I immediately decided I wanted to try to make cards out of them. The paper is similar to the gowns they give you at a doctor’s office with a plastic coating of some kind. I’m happy with Tigger, Poohs mouth is a little weird. He had fangs I was trying to cover up and I messed it up. Not my proudest day. lol. Maybe I’ll work on his mouth later when I’m feeling more patient.
The butterflies and dragonfly are from gift bags from the Dollar Store also. You never know what you’ll find at that store. 😉

I’m loving building a card around random verses I come across

This is just a few of them. Now I’m constantly on alert for cute saying or poems

Being Shady

Chloe thinks she’s being sly hiding her chewy. lol. She’s getting better at it. Usually she lays on top of it so big sister doesn’t steal it.

Property Owner keeps changing the rules.

We have been living in a community of townhouse apartments for almost 13 years. There are 100 units and on site management. It is a non smoking community. No smoking anywhere on the property.
When we moved here it stated in our lease that we were allowed a gas bbq only with a 5 gallon propane tank. Everything was pretty chill. After being here for about 10 years I bought my husband a Traeger as a gift. Still everything is ok.
A few months back the owner said no more bbqs period. We’re going to install bbqs in different areas for tenants. So far they have built 1. For 100 units just one bbq. We live upstairs so we would have to carry all supplies down the stairs. The actual bbq is approximately 75 yards away. The bbq closes at 7:00 pm.
Here is where the problems begin

  1. My husband has neuropathy in his feet due to diabetes. He can not walk that far let alone carry stuff down our stairs. He has a permanent handicap plaque.
  2. I have a shoulder injury that I am on SSDI on. I’ve had 6 surgeries, it’s not going to get better. I can not carry things down stairs or even the 75 yards to get there.
  3. No sign up. It’s first come, first serve so you can’t count on it for dinner because someone else could already be using it. We can not see it from our apt.
  4. Using the oven is not an option. Even if we could afford to run the air non stop it isn’t efficient enough to keep the temperature tolerable. Even boiling water on the stove creates too much heat. The stove fan will kick on automatically due to the heat.
  5. We are both seniors and this is keeping us from preparing healthy meals. Cooking inside can send the temp up to 87 degrees even using the air.
  6. My husband has been diagnosed with CHF, diabetes, high blood pressure and his health will not allow him to be going back and forth trying to prepare dinner. We are both on medications that make us heat sensitive. My husband is supposed to avoid the sun. Just a little bit of heat sends my body into full on sweating mode like someone in menopause only I’m not. Temp goes up, sweating begins, then goes into nausea and if I can’t cool off vomiting.
The owners words if we don’t like the new rule? Then move.
Do we have any rights here? Is it legal for the owner to make these changes? Even if it affects our ability to prepare a healthy meal ( cause we all know casseroles and TV dinners are junk)and is affecting our quality of life?
    I would appreciate any advice
    Disturbed and disillusioned.

You can never have too much encouragement

I’ve been trying to focus on creating greeting cards ( mostly for children) that send positive messages. Making them also reminds me that I need to give myself grace too.

Rescue #2

This is our rescue Chiweenie Chloe. We rescued her from our local humane society about 7 months ago she was afraid of everything. She was outside at the shelter where she was supposed to be part of a play group. She wasn’t. She had her body squished up against a cold wet cinder block wall. Shaking. One paw up in true Chihuahua style. She was petrified. Eventually she approached me and accepted a treat from me. She seemed so sad. All the other small dogs were running around. It was my husband who first suggested we take her home. He commented , just look at her. This is a terrible place for her to be. She needs us. And solved took her home. She chose me as her person and I am honored. She is smart, funny, and is blossoming. Looking back I think I needed her as much as she needed me. ❤️. She’s currently curled up against my ribs in bed. Snoring peacefully. Couldn’t get any better than this. The last pic is the add they put up for her. Can barely tell it’s her.

Macy

This is Macy, my son’s ESA They were like 2 peas in a pod. I had never seen two souls as attached and in tune as these two. She passed at 14. She was blind for the last few years of her life but maneuvered the house like a pro. She was was the girl that made us fall head over heels for Chihuahuas and now Chiweenies too. She is so missed.

What to expect?

This is Chloe, our rescue chiweenie. I’ve had the pleasure of being her person for almost 8 months and she is amazing. I was wondering what the size of the average chiweenie is. Chloe was just under 8 pounds when we adopted her. She’s maybe 10 or 11 now. She’s approximately 2 years old. Also, weird question. Does anybody else’s chiweenie get an enormous amount of eye boogies? I’m constantly wiping her eyes. Could it be a chiweenie thing? The vet said she’s fine. 🤷‍♀️
