Brainstorming a localized name for Yusuke Fujiwara.

In a hypothetical world that Season 4 of GX was dubbed, what kind of name you think 4KIDS would have given him?

First we need to look at other localized names to see any patterns, and there's 2 very important things I noticed. The name needing to sound more natural/less awkward in English, but keeping the same sound/syllable in the beginning as the original. (Jonouchi to Joey as an example)

So, my idea is calling Yusuke Fujiwara, Gabriel Faust, Hear me out. Gabriel, as in the Archengel Gabriel, is being based on his connection with Honest who is an Angel and is a normal first name for someone to have, the Faust being based based on the Faustian Bargain tale, because Fujiwara did make a deal with the devil essentially (Darkness being the closest thing that the Yu-gi-oh anime has anyway) and the fact it starts with an "f" sound.

Is a bit on the nose, and the religion theming may be both to obvious and something that 4KIDS wouldn't do, but is the best I got, do you guys have your own ideas for a localized name for him?

I think I know why Susie learned Scythemare in Chapter 5.

I was replying Chapter 4, when on the Gerson Statue fight Susie talks about that if Ralsei was there they could use Pacify on it. That made me notice something, while in this fight in specific that wouldn't have worked, Susie may have considered a situation were she and Kris are without Ralsei, but needs to Pacify something, so she decided to learn how to do it, just in case.

Like Susie healing Magic, she probably asked Ralsei how to do it, and he gladly teached her, when she came back to Castle Town.

Remember when on the Party Dojo there was a Graze Challenge 1? Implying the existence of more in the future?

Yeah, I don't think Toby Fox did either, because Castle Town have become a mess (I don't care if this is intentional, it doesn't justify it or make it excusable).

So in the Castle Town visit for Chapter 6, which can very well be or last visit before the endgame, it will probably keep to disappoint, we will probably get some ice puns, lampshading on how Castle town didn't live to expectations, combinating in a "funny" fight on whenever Jigsaw Joe has moved to, that pokes fun in this.

Beyond finally starting to get some resolution on the Shadow Crystals and maybe some new Fusion Items, I have no expectations for Castle Town Beyond some mildly funny jokes at best.

If part of the drama or conflict in the end of the game be about sealing the Castle Town Dark Fountain, I wouldn't care, because Toby didn't care to keep it interesting.

I hope I'm wrong though.

The suspiciously empty spot on the playable character section of the Dual Override's Site...

It would be really funny if it's not, but with so much focus he is getting on merch and the new Udon comics, fish head gotta show up.

I Replayed Megaman 8 in a long time and I have some thoughts about.

I was thinking about how good the Robot Master Weapons are in the series one day (as one do), just to me to notice that I haven't played Megaman 8 in a while, because I didn't remember how the weapons of that game fair. So I replayed to refresh my memory and... it's alright.

There's many good things, but they are being dragged by a lot of annoying things preventing from being one of the best games for me.

One of the good things that has not caveat is the presentation of the game, the 32bit sprites are beautiful and the backgrounds are very detailed and nice looking. The animated cutscenes are nice, and the bad English dub does make it better to me, I like some cheeseness like calling Bass like he is a fish.

The Bolt system is very interesting, but poorly executed, having a limited resource that incentivizes exploration of the levels and use of special weapons is great! The fact you have to backtrack all 4 stages because there was an arbitrary wall that needed a weapon of the letter half stages is bad, the fact the Exit module you have to buy with your limited resource is evil, specifically because those Bolts are always after the continue point so you essentially have to beat the first 4 stages again for all of the Bolts.

The fact that beyond Aquaman's level, there isn't branching paths of the levels, disappointing, because that could alleviated the revising the old levels problem, but having the Bolts locked behind the second half on an alternate path, so to make your revisit more interesting.

The gimmicks on the levels, are very meh most of the time, Tengu man's is cute, but is a side scroller, Clown Man's is alright, and the fact you can use the Tornado Hold to skip part of the final section is honestly great design. Grenade man may be by favorite level, because is very straightforward timing platforming challenges, not annoying gimmick here. Frost Man is just the Ride Chaser levels from the X series but worse and more annoying.

Sword man's may be my second favorite, because it actually uses the fact that you are guaranteed to have 4 weapons at this point and takes advantage of it. Aqua Man's has focus on the pointless and dumb swimming mechanic, so I'm not a fan. Astro Man's fell like they wanted to use Yoku blocks but didn't, and I fell it would be better if they did. Search Man's is fine, focus on the thunder claw is neat, but a bit finicky.

Wily Stages 1 and 2, are very mediocre, because they bring back annoying mechanics, and not focus on good platforming, not a problem with Wily Stage 3 though.

So overwal, the game could have been better, if it didn't focus so much on gimmicks and more in good platforming challenges. (That's the same problem that X8 has, when you think about, but with X8 is even more extreme)

But I don't blame anyone that loves this game, and finds it one of your favorites, more power to you!

When the Ice Beam Freeze actually works.

You get an extremely satisfying moment, specifically against Lance.

Do private/government founded Ranger teams get paid?

Do in any of the shows were being a Ranger is essentially a job, where you need to give most of your energy daily to being a Ranger, not only by fighting the evil forces, but also training, and doing stuff in civilian mode to help. Ever get implied, or shown that they get paid for thier efforts?

Because, if the Rangers are adults, they need income as seen in Time Force and Jungle Fury, the Rangers need jobs for money, and those jobs are either them working without a boss that can fire them, or the boss is part of the Ranger stuff as well.

Stuff like SPD they live on the base, so that at least covers housing, and food. But like Operation Overdrive, which is private founded with no apparent government backing, and the Rangers had to give up thier regular jobs to do this, do Hartford at least pays them, even if the main reason for what a Ranger should fight, is because is the right thing do. They should get a compensation for all the crap they are put through.

The absolute peak of gameplay in Xenoblade 2.

Why, half the number of jumps would be an absurd number, but 6000? This has to be a Joke that the developers made.

u/Paulo_Zero — 2 months ago

Oh yeah, my favorite artist that worked on Xenoblade 2, John MONILITHSOFT

Why the NG+ Blades that are the actual Blades of the members of Torna don't have thier artist credited?

If you guys are having problems with the music and sounds in battle, try this configuration settings.

Is not flawless, but it does negate most of the problems if you were with the default settings. It did work for me, but it can fell different from person to person.

Sometimes your Sixth Sense for hidden items is just on.

Items can't hide from me that easy anymore. I know your game developers. Which makes my first run on any level that has hidden scrolls and compasses very slow, because no corner will be unturned.

Get hit by elemental weakness idiots.

I don't have anything to say beyond the fact that Gemini Spark is much easier in 2 compared to 1.

Average experience of trying to get the Lucky Egg

I really wish that abilities that have outside battle effects thing from Emerald was introduced in this game so I can use Compound Eyes to help.

Guys, Xenoblade X finally clicked with me.

For the 1st 30 hours of the game that I was playing on and off for months, I was very meh on the game, not that it was bad it was just not hitting me with that motivation to keep me playing. Until I really decided to explore the game more and try to do more of the side quests, and it was there that the game clicked to me.

This game is about the world and combat, the exploration and small moments. The main story is there out of necessity. Driving around Mira on a Skell is so satisfying that this alone makes the game worth it, and Overdrive mechanic, (Even though I didn't grasp it fully yet, is very fun to mess around with)

Question, how do I make unique model coaches look like they should do, when I have them on custom teams?

Because, as you can see in the Chronicle Mode, the Pa model is unique, but when I summon a spirit and try to use it as a coach myself it's on the model of a player. Is there a way to make him look like he does in Chronicle mode?

Fun fact, you can do this to a keeper:

Arguably the most humiliating thing you can do to a Keeper ever, but considering what de did to Fubuki, he deserved.

My thoughts on the new difficulty modes in Victory Road.

People are fair to complain that the game just inflates numbers to increase the challenge, which is fair, but I really don't mind this because one of the problems with the PvE before was the low numbers that the CPU has.

Now, you can't just use a single strong move and destroy the Keeper. It's a war of attrition you need around 4 regular hissatusu moves (without chain shots) to break in, and even with chain shots, the defenders Walls are very strong, so you need good positioning if you want to attempt it, but if you do it can really help.

Also, the fact that Fowards are an actual treat gives some real stakes to the match because before, if you played well against the CPU, you never will see the CPU attempt a shot unless they have a long shot. So you need to play with attention and not slip out.

The fact that the CPU is bad is something good. On defensive focus battles, they are not perfect, so you can semi consistently win those, even with a huge point disadvantage. This is where you can gain some TP and trigger some Counter passives, which one that increases that increase the Kepper DF is very good here and on PvP.

Even with they having infinite TP, they still have the move cooldown like normal, so if they use one, you can try to stop them with another player with a normal Focus battle. And you have the hyper moves those are really helpful.

There is stuff that really can help you out, like the Awakening, Elemental Catalyst, Hyper move, that double the elemental advantage bonus and just use elemental advantage in general against the Keepers. The Stalwart Suppression Tactic, which evens out your points to the opponent's in focus battles (you may even want the coach passive that reduces the cooldown of your tatics). The Mount Fuji Tactic is also very useful, especially if you are not using a Tension build.

My only problem is that I wish that you could only get Legend characters from these, especially after they added yet another sink for these things, with Synergies.
