Close friends won’t listen, for going on 20 years

I’ve been recording for about 20 years, now. I recently worked on another person‘s demo, and I filled the bill really well. I’m pretty proud of what we’ve done, and I went to share it with my close circle of friends. Known them for close to 40 years. We are in a group chat that has been going for decades. I asked them to take a listen and let me know what they thought.

To my knowledge, they’ve never listened to any of my music. This one is no exception. They’ve read the message, but haven’t clicked. The group chat ground to a halt, which never happens. Been a week, and they’re all afraid to break the ice with a meme or something of the usual banter.

It would be one thing if they heard it, and didn’t like it. That’s perfectly fine. But the not even trying or a thumbs up for acknowledgment part bothers me in principle. I’m not going to ask them in the chat, as that feels a bit desperate.

I’ve seen this phenomenon mentioned a few times on Reddit, but is this common? Seems like it might be. I’m not looking for praise, just a little effort. The song is three minutes and 48 seconds. Not harsh.

I think that might not have been a regular gummy.

Where are the illegitimate children of the band?

As my flair says, you know these boys was cocksmithin all over the place, back in the day. Where’s 54 year old Jerry Junior? 50 year old Larry Phil Zblonsky?
