A quick and dirty review of trust issues shears, cutting ligatures.

I carry a multitool, but the shears make easy work of 12mm climbing rope, salt encrusted fishing rope, some twin and earth, and my lawn mower extension lead.

Lightweight washable jacket liners

Not really sure how to ask this - I commute daily, and do about 10k miles a year - I always wear a jacket liner, because it is washable and I do not want to arrive at work smelling like mice.

My liner is, as indeed most liners are, largely designed to keep me warmer in winter, when what I actually want is to have a removable sleeve that I can wash, to keep the jacket fresher.

Does anyone haver a decent solution to this? A silk underjacket sort of affair!

I fitted new clamps to a Brownchurch roof rack.

Since I could not find a definitive answer anywhere on the internet, so I thought I would share.

I used the Just Campers VW roof rack clamps.

They are slightly too angled, so that the nut will not go on, but if you have a vice then just putting the bolt section into the vice and tightening, so that the first bend is slightly straightened, is very easy, there was no sign of any risk of damage, and every one was identical just by placing it in the vice and tightening against the bolt once.

So, definitively, these work.

Of course I needed 12, which is £72, plus p&P, washers and nuts, but I replaced my roof light seals and removed my old and fitted my new roof rack in about 4 hours.

Bees behaving weirdly.

Walked past my favourite hive today, on the way to work, and I have no time to investigate, but the girls were being odd. I will try and look tomorrow, but I am concerned.
Symptoms:

  • Three or four rows of workers were lines up along the bottom of the roof, all the way round
  • Looking through the bee exit in the roof, I can see that it is very busy in there.
  • The entrance was crowded, but not busy
  • They have made a small hole above the QE and they are using that as an entrance.

What could be going on?

Order of final credits.

There a point where things switch from ‘Fremulon - Not a doctor’ to ‘Not a doctor - Fremulon’ and I cannot explain why, but the later version caused me real discomfort.

Fitting spotlights - advice wanted

I have a 2014 nc750x and I want to be more visible. Has anyone fitted spotlights themselves and, if so, any recommendations for mounting them?

Other recommendations gratefully received.

Raising the front seat with a pad or cushion?

I have already got a 3D printed adapter to bring the front of the seat up, but I am a big man, and would love to be slightly higher.

Anyone able to recommend a good pad for the 2014 NC750X to suit a taller rider?
