I think I ruined my life, low gpa and probation after first year

I just completed my first year of engineering, I am in a chemical engineering and biochemistry duel degree program. I have a 4.0 cgpa which is around a 1.3-1.6 gpa. And will be put on probation. I need a get a 6.0 cgpa by the end of the next 2 semester (winter of 2027). I will be needing to get B+ and A's for all of my classes from now on. My parents dont believe I would be able to do it. (idk if I can either)

I am so worried, idk what to do. I genuinely think I ruined my life. My parents is so disappointed and they think that I am a total failure. I feel like i just wasted a bunch of money and time.

When will academic office open back up for reasons other then course selection?

I’m trying to book an appointment with the engineering academic office, and the only option available is through course selection, everything else is unavailable.

When will the other option be open
Also why is it now through MS Teams…

Cooked for Engineering (Low CGPA)

Am I cooked.

I have a low CGPA (low 4.0 CGPA), my program requires me to have a 6.0 CGPA, meaning that I am currently on probations.

How cooked am I, ik i need to work extremely hard and smartly to get out, but how do able is this realistically. I am in a honors chem eng (coop)

im genuinely, so stressed, my parents are also really disappointed in me. if anyone was in a similar situations please share or dm. Would this also be a good reason to apply for an academic reset? If anyone has also done that/know someone who did, please also share.

My program requires a 6.0cgpa and my current cgpa is a 4.0

Currently just got on academic probation, my current ccgpa is a 4.0/around low 4.0. I need to get a 6.0 ccgpa to stay in the program.

How cooked am I.
Currently, when calculating I need to get a mix of B+ and A-/A for all my courses(for example i need all B+ with like 2 As if I take 5 courses a semester to get out of this probation.

I’m currently in chem Eng and biochem program. I do have a meeting with my academic advisor soon but to get some external advice I am coming into here.

How cooked am I
Any tips for the tough Eng and science classes
Any tips/advice to know
Should I take a sem of just doing easy bird course or should I take the required pre requisite courses.
If you were in a similar situation, what was your stories/strategies

Also if anyone’s knows, example if at the end my cgpa was a 5.7/5.9, is it easy to appeal it?

Is it recommended to do an academic reset, if you done one, why / how easy was it.

Tips on showing my parents my low marks/CGPA

Hi, so I’m in Biotech first year and this year has been rough and I also struggled a bit with mental health, which made a bad mix for for first year.

My ccgpa ending this semester is 3.7 (ik it’s bad don’t remind me)

I do have a plan for next sem, which is probably lowering the number of couses and I am going to retake 1 failed course (linear algebra).

My parents are strict and idk how to go about telling them my grade cuz they are going to freak out ( “freak out” is an understatement, they gonna go ballistic).

Any tips 😭😭

I’m in Biotech and after first year I did so bad 😭 I got a bunch of Ds and one F and only a couple of Bs here and there.

Idk what to do imma be out on probation next year. I really want to continue my program. My academic advisor said that “it’ll be easy to bring it up” but idk cuz aren’t they payed to say that.

Any tips to bring up my cgpa to a 6.0. I’m planning to retake the failed course, idk if I can afford it financially to retake the other courses with a D in it.

Am I cooked?

I just need to rant cuz I genuinely don’t know what to do rn. I moved 4 aways to a uni to avoid this but it lowkey worse.

In highschool my parents was so stressed about my grade, in my last year of highschool they would literally sit me down after they come down to work and lecture me about my grade, calculate my grade, talk about uni, my possiblites of Unis.

They would do this everyday for like from 5 pm to 9 pm, while I still had chord to do and assignments and homework to finish. When I got into uni, my parents weren’t happy but more relieved because they “never thought any uni would take me” (I have a 89% avg)

Now in uni, my first semester I struggled with, I’m doing a dual degree of engineering and chemistry and have lots of courses, labs and assignments. Not even getting started on practice work.

I got a couple of d’s and failed 1 class because I was struggling adjusting.

So for the second semester my parents went all over. They got me tutors for not just 1 but all courses. I understand that they are trying to help me, and I’m grateful for them for trying this way. But I’m taking 7 full courses with 5+ work every week for each class, not including assignments and labs. And they added 7 more 1 hour tutoring classes.

I ended up attending lectures, tutors and labs from 8 am to 8/9pm. And that not including assignments and reports. I had no time to do like actual practice for my skills.

I tried telling them that it was too much and that they can cut it down to 1-2 tutoring classes. But they would not listen saying that this is better

They would undermine the difficulty of my classes saying that all I need to “memorize and practice” and that they don’t know why it’s so difficult for me.

My grades did not improve at all, in fact it is worse.

Idk what they will react like now 😭😭😭

Idk I’m so tired of them being like this.

After ever midterm my dad would call me randomly for an entire week or two just to calculate my grade over and over again.

I just want them to stop.

Hi I’m a uni student and we have a mandatory meal plan where there is a dining hall. This dining hall has all chicken and beef products are halal, however they do serve pork/non halal items. However I have always been able to differentiate it along with there being screens that label the items.

However today, the screen were down but I assume that was fine because I can still tell between chicken products (newsflash I was wrong, turns out pork is a type of meat that when prepared differently can look just like chicken)

Luckily, my good friend who isn’t Muslim recognizes

it, and told me that I was eating pork.

I still took like 2 bites tho 😔

Idk I still feel guilty about this, I prayed for forgiveness and made duas for forgiveness. I just can’t shake off the feeling that I did something i never thought would happen
