I just finished vol 32...

All I can say is I'm glad I finally "finished" the high school arc, though I was cheating a bit. I tried to read everything a few years ago but ended up stopping around the part where Minoru hid in the forest. Honestly, reading all the parasites and USNA stuff was kinda boring. So, this time I kinda skipped the boring parts and only read the summary.

I think the idea to reuse the parasite as enemies is interesting. However, this arc felt like it went on too long with excessive details.

There are so many repeated lines about the pushion stuff. And the part I hate the most is the detailed description about the USNA soldiers. The author added so many additional characters, but I knew they were going to be just fodder. So, it was hard to get attached, making it boring.

I still have mixed feelings about the Minami Minoru part.

I have never understood about the servant character type who is overly loyal. I just think it's unrealistic to give up everything for someone else.

That's why I actually liked the idea of Minami choosing Minoru, like she finally broke through the brainwashing of Yotsuba. Heck, I felt a bit annoyed by Tatsuya when he rejected the parasite Minoru offer without asking Minami.

But as I said above, the parasite arc felt too long and excessive. So, I kinda lost the excitement of this pairing at the end. Like if Minami was going to become a parasite anyway, they should have just done it sooner.

Also, why was Pixie missing during most of the parasite arc? Surely she could help.

And maybe I missed it, but was there an explanation for why Toudou Aoba was fine with Pixie staying in Japan?

That said, there are many parts I like. I enjoyed Tatsuya's fights with Igor. Clark's plot was also interesting. And the Miyakejima fight was also good.

I just wish they cut some details from the parasites and USNA parts, then expand the other parts. I mean, we didn't even get to see the last inter school Monolith Code.

Overall, it's still enjoyable, and I still love Mahouka series. Though I find how the author handled the Yotsuba affair quite funny.

Back during the first 9SC in anime s1, Miyuki talked about how she will be Tatsuya's ally in fighting against the Yotsuba. But the series ended with Tatsuya being a prominent figure of Yotsuba.

I like this development, but the change was just funny to me.

Is it actually common to only say "hey it's me" in Japanese on the phone?

I once read about the "ore ore" scam in Detective Conan manga. Basically a scammer calls elderly people saying "hey it's me"; then, the elderly assumes it's their kids. Then the scammer pretends to be in emergency and asks for money.

Based on a quick google search, it seems like this type of scam actually happens.
But I really don't understand why this works.

Whenever I call someone, I always explicitly say my name, even when I'm calling my own family.
Well, I don't always do it now since smartphone shows you who the caller is. But I still think it makes more sense to actually state your name.

So, how could this "ore ore" scam happen? Is it just normal to only say "hey it's me" in Japanese culture?

Some anime makes a joke about this scam. But even in a serious scene, the characters usually just say "it's me".

Just got spoiled by Google ai overview...

I'm anime only, but I just read the manga recently. I'm generally fine with spoilers, so I have been checking the wiki for some characters just for fun. Though, I mostly searched the character because I don't remember which character is which. For example I know about Haruka, but I got confused when they mentioned Hasebe in the manga.

Anyway, I was reading the manga when I got into the scene where Nanase mentioned about a boy in 1-C who got expelled.
In the anime, they just mentioned his name is Hatano. But in the manga, the panel showed his desperation from being kicked out.

Because of that I got curious about what kind of person he was. So, I searched "cote Hatano".... And boom...I read a big spoiler...

Like I honestly wasn't expecting that his case had to do with a white room student. But the ai overview laid out his identity openly. ETA: what's funny was I just argued with someone else how he couldn't be from wr lol.

I guess at this point I should just read the novel. How bad is it if I start from Year 2?

Btw, the ai seems to pull this info from a fanfiction article. I'm assuming this is just that, fanfiction, and I don't need to read it?

Is it actually possible to reach 200k power at level 200?

Flash Point is fixed at lv 200 and Resonance 10, so I can't over level the content.

But my teams are only around 180k power. Gears are all engraved. Most skills are 6, with Rosaria at 7,8,10.

I'm wondering if it's actually possible to reach 200k.

If I understand correctly, if seems like the world after each Journey doesn't exactly continue to go on?

Initially, I thought the various Journey stories for each character was about parallel worlds, where each character ended up looking for the Captain after he disappeared.

But I'm doing the Monastir event/main story right now. And there was this part where Charlotte and Carmen felt deja vu about their moments with the Captain.

So, that means the whole world just reset after each Journey, right? I guess that's why the "villains" called it cycles.

But then how did Tyria live for so long?

A Journey story where Captain was talking with Lyn about searching for Fei, then Fei showed up in the background

I'm not 100%, but I'm guessing it's from Lyn's first arcana? I don't have her card, and I got the story as a random one, so I can't check.

Can anyone confirm? Does it actually exist? Or did I mix it up with the event story?

I have been playing ATS for a week using a controller. One of the features I like is the lane assistant, which kinda gives me an "auto-pilot" feature on a straight highway. I can generally stay on the lane all the time unless the turn is really really sharp. It is very helpful because steering on a controller is bad, and I can take the scenery more.

Then I decided to get a steering wheel, Thrustmaster TMX. Now the lane assistant doesn't really do anything. There's nothing that fight my truck from veering of a lane; there's only the beeping.

I guess I probably shouldn't expect to use the lane assistant feature as an auto pilot. But is this expected?
Is it because TMX force feedback is very weak? Would a more expensive wheel gives better lane assistant experience?
