North Texas (Frisco) Attic

I know I’ll never make my money back on insulation, but I have a 4 ton unit upstairs and a 3 ton unit downstairs. With the 105°f days, the 3 ton unit is struggling and I just want to help it rather than upsizing the unit.

I have an asphalt shingle roof and the attic has no ventilation other than the perimeter soffits. I was thinking in order of effectiveness…

  1. ventilation fan of some sort
  2. closed cell foam on roof and any attic accessible wall
  3. more cellulose blow in

Am I on track here? Would it be better to remove the cellulose and foam the attic floor as well? Thanks in advance for any insight!

A serious question about dividend reddits.

So, a few dividend reddits have come across my feed, and I don’t understand what they’re about. Are they really just for special investors that can’t grasp simple math like I’m thinking? Or am I the idiot that doesn’t understand a critical concept?

I invest in ETFs with everything on DRIP and care about maximum ROI with minimum tax burden.

Edit to add:
Thanks everyone for providing some really good info here. That’s why I like this Reddit. It’s very easy to learn and get explanations on topics to grow as an investor. 👍

Supply plenum temperature.

Hey all. I just had a new 3ton single stage system
Installed. While making sure there’s no air leaks at the evaporator, I noticed the supply plenum feels warm/insulated just like the ducts almost everywhere. However on the top in a 1sq ft area right after the coil, it’s so cold a thin layer of condensation forms. Is this something I should address or normal? The supply plenum is metal, insulated on the inside. Thanks!

Update: they’re going to come back out to fix everything.

North Texas Compatible

Hey all. Sorry if this is a stupid question. Does anyone here know of a fruit tree that would live maintenance free and not die in North Texas, Dallas area?

Garrison Titanium Date Complication Size

Hey all. I’ve been trying, with no luck, to determine the height of the garrison date letters. I’ve been eying the titanium specifically. Thanks everyone!
