Hi everyone, I’m working on a research project and I’m looking for academic papers that could help me investigate this question:
RQ : "To what extent does AI’s predictive advantage over human experts under uncertainty translate into measurable business performance and outcomes?"
I’m particularly looking for papers on:
Peer-reviewed empirical studies would be especially useful, but strong literature reviews or theoretical papers are also welcome.
If you know of papers that directly address any part of this question, I’d appreciate the title/DOI and a brief explanation of why you think they’re relevant. Thanks.
Is getting into a T20/Ivy basically a rich people's game?
This has been stuck in my head for a long time.
Every time I see an international student get into an Ivy or a T20, they're almost always from an IB school or some really expensive international school. I almost never see a regular CBSE or state board student from a normal school.
I'm a state board student, and my family is poor.
I wanted to study IB so badly that I literally cried when I realized we couldn't afford it. I still think about it. I genuinely loved the curriculum, but the tuition alone was around 2.5 years of my family's income, assuming we spent nothing on food, bills, or anything else. We still have a housing loan.
The first time I really understood what wealth looked like was when I attended my first MUN at Indus International School Hyderabad. It was also my first MUN ever.
I walked around that campus and realized I was living in a completely different world from a lot of the people there. They weren't bad people at all. It just hit me how different our starting points were. That was probably the first time I thought, "Wow, this whole game feels built for people with money."
Then I talked to an admissions consultant.
He told me I didn't need IB. Then he said if I paid him $10,000, had great grades, and built strong extracurriculars, he could get me into a T100.
That honestly made me question everything.
It feels like if you're wealthy, you can pay your way into opportunities. Better schools. Better counselors. Research. Internships. Olympiad coaching. Summer programs. Networking. Things that admissions offices value but that many students simply cannot access.
I'm not saying rich people buy admission letters.I'm saying they can often buy access to the experiences that make those admission letters much more likely. i got acceptanced to many pretigious prgramme like yale global scholars, lauchx (idk if thats any good) and john locke shortlisted, cambridge re think essay but im not that rich to fly over countries for a programme or pay 5 lakhs for a 2 week online prgramme.
And I'll be completely honest.
I want to be rich. Not comfortable.Disgustingly rich. Not because I want to flex or look down on anyone. I want so much money that nobody in my family ever has to say, "We can't afford it."
I want my future kids to have opportunities I never had. I want them to be able to go to schools like Le Rosey if that's what they want. I want them to be privileged enough to complain that the campus is too small, because I'd rather they complain about something trivial than ever have to cry because they couldn't afford an education they dreamed of.Right now, making money is probably my biggest goal in life
Am I just seeing selection bias because IB students are more visible online, or is the path to top U.S. universities genuinely much easier if you're born into wealth?
I'd really like to hear from people who came from ordinary CBSE or state board schools. Did you make it? What was your path?

I'm 15, based in Hyderabad, India, and I've spent the last few months building a skincare brand called Verda.
The goal isn't to build just another skincare company. I'm trying to build a modern, digital-first brand with strong branding, quality products, and content-led growth.
I'm now looking for a co-founder who's excited about building something from the ground up.
What I'm looking for:
Current plan:
I'm not looking for someone who just wants a title. I'm looking for someone who genuinely wants to build a company over the next few years and is willing to put in consistent effort.
If you're interested, comment below or send me a DM with:
Even if you aren't interested yourself, I'd appreciate it if you could point me toward someone who might be.
Thanks!

r/highschool removed my post so im posting it again.
Kinda random, but I realized I don't really have friends who obsess over things like Olympiads, research, MUNs, startups, John Locke, internships, scholarships, or getting into top universities.
So I'm making a GC.
The vibe isn't "study 16 hours a day." I want it to actually be fun.
We'll:
If you're a highschooler and you're ambitious (or already got into a top university and don't mind mentoring a bit), you're welcome.
Doesn't matter where you're from. Just don't be toxic or inactive.
If enough people are interested, I'll make the GC. DM so i can add you
the already made the gc in reddit, we'll soon make one for discord if requested highly
