Rear-facing car seat in a 2017 IS? (5'4", 1-year-old)

Hey everyone,
Looking at picking up a 2017 IS, but I’ve got a 1-year-old and want to make sure a rear-facing car seat isn't going to be a complete dealbreaker. I was originally holding out for a GS, but there are basically zero in my area right now.

For context, it’d mostly just be me and my kid on ~30 min daily commutes. On the rare occasion all 3 of us ride together, I’d be sitting in front of the car seat (I’m 5'4"). For any long family trips we'd just take my partner's ES anyway.

For anyone who's actually owned one with a toddler:

How annoying is loading/unloading every day with the back door size?

Is this doable, or a bad buy for this stage?

Any feedback would be appreciated

Avalon Limited V6 vs Camry V6

Looking at a 2020+ Avalon Limited V6.

Coming from an Elantra N and GTI, but now I’ve got a kid and want something more comfortable and reliable.

I know the Avalon is more comfort-focused, which is what I want, but I don’t want something that feels huge and completely disconnected.

Main Questions:
Does it feel like a “boat” driving around the city?
Any regrets vs going with a Camry instead?

Trying to find the balance between comfort and not totally boring.

Camry XSE V6 — too stiff for daily/parent life?

Interested in a 2020+ Camry XSE V6.

Coming from an Elantra N and GTI, but now I’ve got a kid and want something more comfortable and reliable.

I like that the Camry still has some sportiness, but I’m worried it might be too stiff/harsh, especially on my daily commute which is mainly highway and city driving.

Any regrets going Camry vs Avalon?

An Avalon is also in consideration, but worried that’ll be too boat like and boring.

Feeling stuck after 7 years - what would you do?

Hi everyone,

I’m 26F and have been working as a cleaner at an animal hospital for almost 7 years, and I’m starting to feel stuck. It’s stable, but I don’t see much growth financially or career-wise.

I’d like to move into something where I can make at least $50k/year (more would obviously be great), but I also have a toddler, so work-life balance is really important to me.

I’m open to going back to school or training, but I’m not great at school and I’m honestly worried about spending the time and money only to end up in a job I don’t like.

If you were in my position, what would you do next?

Thanks in advance 🙏

Forward-facing car seat in 2022 TLX?

Hey all, does anyone use a forward-facing car seat in their TLX?

Just wondering how the fit is in the rear seat—especially:

Space/legroom impact up front
Overall fit/comfort for regular use

Appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

Hey all, looking for some quick advice.

I’m deciding between a Genesis GV70, Infiniti QX55, and Lincoln Corsair. I checked out the Acura RDX but didn’t like the interior, and the Lexus NX might be a bit out of budget.

I’m looking for something with a good mix of pep + luxury, but also reliable long term and not expensive to maintain.

For context, I’ve owned a GTI and an Elantra N, so I don’t want something that feels completely boring.

What would you pick and why? Any of these I should avoid?

Corsair 2.0 vs 2.3 — will I regret the smaller engine?

Hey all, looking for some quick input.

I’m thinking about getting a Lincoln Corsair and deciding between hunting down a 2022 with the 2.3L or just going with a newer one with the 2.0L.

For context, I’ve owned a GTI and an Elantra N, so I’m used to cars that feel pretty quick. I know the Corsair isn’t a performance car, but I don’t want something that feels sluggish either.

Do you think I’d be disappointed with the 2.0, or is it plenty for daily driving? Is the 2.3 worth the hassle of finding one?

Appreciate any insight 👍
