In the three years of my cna, I have also funny experiences I'd like to share. Maybet get a few inputs.

Not sure if this happens to anyone but in my first year, I had my assignment and I can say the RN 'doted' on me. (We were both 💅 and she liked my work ethic.) One night that will stick with me forever. (it would even come to my mind when I worked at the hospital.)

Whenever I finished my assignment, I'd help out my fellow CNAs (they were older women and I have thia spot whenever I see hardworking older women, it reminds me of my mom. Plus I was the youngest and had time. Never did it for them to help me in return. There was one cna that had I guess you can say a 'hard' assignments. Combative, confused and bedbound residents. So I helped out and for some odd reason there was this specific resident who was very combative but with me. She acted fine and we even had a laugh, since then the RN would ask me to take her and switch out a resident from my assignment.

This happened with another resident who liked things done a certain way and I guess me, including a very other selective CNAs did it the right way and even if I didn't have that assignment. They gave her specifically to me, whenever I asked why. The RN said I have a very good way of handling difficult patients.

I think or liked to think this was true because even at the hospital. Certain patients we would get that would be considered 'difficult' alwaya gravited towards me, vice versa. I'll never forget I met this elderly pt. She was sweet as can be and even sung to me. Only requested me, wanted no one else. To the point where if I was in another room. The break nurse would pull me out, so I can tend to her and he can take my place. It was frustrating I won't lie because what if I'm not there. Y'know? She came back a second time, remembered me and was so happy. It was the cutest. She wanted my personal number and invited me to her 100th birthday but I declined - hope she's okay.

Anyways, did this ever happened to any of you? I think back and find it funny or those instances gave me good memories as a cna.

I found this forum and resonated with posts. Been a CNA for three years (In california specifically) Still in the medical field in another position no longer dealing with patients (I love it)

Two out of the three years I worked in a hospital. The pay was nice but the trauma is not nice. We switched companies during my last year being a cna and it was not fun. We had too much frequent flyers come in.

How do you guys deal with multiple forms of sexual harrassment? I've encounted this multiple times. I had a really bad experience with a pt who was mentally ill and I had to be his sitter.

He kept on making weird comments about me, about how he wants to take pictures of me. Cut a piece of my hair (I had pink hair at the time) he tried touching me, grab my hair and i swatted his hand. This encounter made me be really mean to him to make him stop. I did report it to my charge nurse but we were short staffed as I wasn't even suppose to be a sitter. A tech from another floor was but they were called back to their floor and I had to fill in that spot. So y'all know how that goes.

Other instances as a sitter, they would masturbate in front of me after repeatedly telling them to stop. Tried to cop a feel, make comments, the works.

Now I'm anxious around men in general, especially in close proximity. Even though I know not every guy is like that I just - how do I get over it? Obviously, therapy might help but it's costly and something I don't want to do right as I'm not in stable financially yet after moving states.

While CNA paid my bills and helped me alot, I sometimes wish I wasn't one because my back is also fucked up. Working an entire year at a nursing home. Doing things on my owm even though it was against policy was fun too.

The one thing I do miss is my unit. It was a shitty workplace by my unit was great because we all helped one another and got along well.

hello, i hate to make this post, unfortunately due to some circumstances, I'm the only one working full time now. (Both members are on workers comp due to work injuries. But it takes so long) I don't get paid until this coming wednesday. If anyone could help me with $35, I overestimated my car and the necessary trips I've been doing has put a dent on my gas than I thought it would.

I'm 26 years old and I'm reaching to the point where I have no words to describe what is going on in my head if that makes sense?

My entire life hasn't been great to say the least. Been abused as a child, spotty childhood memories.

Self harmed but now clean almost 2 years now [it was 9 years but I repleased. I'm good now]

Been working as a cna for almost 3 years. Two of the three I worked at a hospital and subjected to multiple instances of sexual harrassment. Met someone there, long story short got sa'ed so that was lovely.

I have no words to describe how I feel most of the times and I feel like I'm a broken human. I feel almost numb all the time, my depression is at the bottom of the barrel. If and when I feel an ounce of happiness, it disappears.

I genuinely think of ending it daily but I can't.

I can't because I have two family members who aren't dependent on me but I need them as they need me. But I can't help but yearn for the day I no longer have to open my eyes. I'm religious (not like to the extreme, forth warning) so I tend to pray when I can. But it's becoming hard, everything has been becoming harder. I have no familial support because everyone hates each other so whenever I have to experience super tough decisions. Its with my little sibling or by myself.

I used to have my two best friends before moving states. I keep in contact with one of them but the other has her own life going on. I try not to be a burden.

I don't want to be a burden so I just suffer in silence.

I just - where do I even go from here? I've neglected myself in a mental sense where I just borderline don't give a fuck anymore. I'm just like a living zombie. It sucks, everytime I try to change I fall back into the same spot.

hello! I'm currently facing some hardships, don't want to tell a sob story so I'll make it short. I don't get paid till next week and two of my family members are out on a work related injury now. Workers comp has been an absolute hell so I'm the only one working full time.

Family member got injured on the job, went to the doctor and got declared to go on light duty, job provided light duty due to doctor's orders (urgent care)

Doctor at urgent care told said family member not to come back unless it's an emergency or needed change of medication due to injury needing to be seen by a specialist. We made an appointment but clinic doesn't accept worker's comp. So now we had to wait for them to make a new appointment which has been radio silence. Family member told their boss about what the urgent care doctor said that there is no need to return unless needing otherwise, but doctor still declared them for light duty which they have been doing for two months.

Now company gave family member today a paper stating they no longer will be on light duty and sent home instead on workers comp pay (which we all know is jack shit) but the doctor's modifications never been updated, they have been doing the provided light duty without complaint so we are confused.

Is this allowed?
