Australia exchange, part 2

The lovely lady in Australia sent me a second box because it cost so much to ship her package she wanted to send me extra!

The rest finally arrived. And while most of it was lovely candy and sweets, there are some non-candy items like the Tim Tams and biscuits and Burger Rings.

Nanaimo/Brownie question?

I got my order today and I ordered both the Nanaimo and the Brownie Sundae and noticed that the Brownie has the same yellowy custard as the Nanaimo.

I’ve also seen other people’s orders have the same, but the description of the Brownie said ‘whipped vanilla mousse’.

Did anyone else have the cookies the same? Was that a directive from the stores to use the same topping for both cookies? Or was that just a cost saving measure??

Please weigh-in, customers and Crumbl crew!

Candy?

Picked these up at the Grocery Outlet and they were in with other candy, but I don’t think they necessarily classify as candy.

What do you guys think?

Either way, they’re lush if you like coconut stuff!

How do we feel about these?

We all know licorice, circus peanuts and candy corn are divisive. But here’s another one that can fall under that blanket.

How do you feel about spearmint leaves?

I personally love them, but I also love licorice, circus peanuts and candy corn (well, Indian corn and mallowcreme pumpkins better than candy corn)

[thanks] Australia to US

The lovely u/sbrown_13 sent me a wonderful package with items I was searching for, in our exchange! She also sent a second package but thanks to the gloriously unreliable institution that is the USPS, it’s now lost somewhere in the system!

I was delighted it arrived with zero damages (even in the beginning summer heat!)

Australia exchange

I recently did an exchange with a lovely person in Australia! The first photo is what they sent me! And the second photo is what I sent to them!

(In the corner of the photo are some German items I got recently as well)

If you want to try stuff from other countries, definitely look into r/snackexchange.

Bell Gardens curiosity?

Did a snack exchange (gummy candy/chocolate/cookies/chips) with a lovely lady in Australia. She sent me a second box out of the goodness of her heart because she felt bad that it cost me an OUTRAGEOUS amount to send her US goodies.

This box has been sitting since 31 May. I filed a service request this morning and got a voice message telling me they couldn’t locate my package (there was an issue with customs but then customs released it) and that they are sending me a ‘resolution letter’.

Does this mean that I won’t be seeing this package? Should I file for missing mail? I know I can’t get any sort of refund because this was a gift, per se.

Also, all my lovely tasty goodies will probably be melted and ruined by the time they get to me **IF** they ever do!

UK delivery

A mate in the UK sent along some requests. Note to self: stop asking friends to send things before June. The bars sustained a little meltage on the ends. But the gummies seem to be fine!

Ocean State Job Lot haul

I’d never ventured in before today and goodness gracious, there’s a massive good selection of foreign desserts (and food!!)

Just picked up a few things because I also have 3 orders on the way from Australia, UK and Germany.

Dubai adjacent

These are decent. The kataifi adds a nice little textural crunch to each piece. But they are priced in line with other Dubai-type items. Was hoping for just a bar rather than this little bag.

Dollar Tree?

These are on the Dollar Tree website. They look fabulous if you like banana candies!

Anyone find them at their Dollar Tree?

Comeback?

Digging around looking for a photo of a 1980s candy that I desperately miss (they were hard candy - chocolate mints, in a brown twisted wrapper with green printing much like the old person strawberry candies) and I came across this bar, which was discontinued in 1979.

Sadly, I am too young to remember it or have tried it (I would have only been 4)

This bar looks excellent and far superior to the Sky Bar.

Any discontinued candies you’d wish would make a comeback?

Um…

This is what my Carmelita minis look like.

Somehow I don’t think this is what they’re *supposed* to look like?

I’m not one to complain about things but should I and if so, how do I go about doing it?

Edit: Thank you, helpful Crumblies, I chatted with support and they gave me a voucher for a mini 6 pack. And yes, I still ate this one and it was messy, but tasted good at least, if a bit sweet.

Today’s haul

Yes, I get candy practically every day, whether it’s in the post or in a shop. And today was a mix of both, some arrived via post and some was my grocery trip.

Of course, technically, the fruit snacks aren’t candy but we’ve been processing box upon box at work recently and I had to get these because I was too tempted not to.

All of them I’ve not tried, but the chocolate cinnamon bears have been on my radar for months. They finally sell a smaller bag to buy!

Swedish haul

This haul is slightly different because I happened across a Swedish candy seller online who does something unique. They sell BY THE PIECE. This is an excellent idea for those that want to try a candy before committing to a whole bulk amount like a pound or 100 grams! I had to order!

As pictured:

Loose: Chocolate Covered Swedish Red Fish, Chocolate Dipped Pear Gummies, Chocolate Covered Banana Toffee, Bubs Sweet Oval Banana Toffee, Fazer Tutti Frutti Melon, Fazer Soda Cans, Sparkling Prosecco Bears,

Wrapped: Cloetta Rollo butterscotch caramel, Ice cream Sandwich Gingerbread, Candycane Milkshake, Easter Tutti Frutti Milkshake, Banana & Toffee Milkshake, Gingerbread Milkshake

I ordered the Bubs because I seem to recall the ones made in Sweden tasting different (and lovely) than the ones we now have in the US that are made in Mexico, and wanted to see if they indeed did. If not, then my tastes have changed and I’m not a fan anymore.

Top 5 Gummy Flavours?

Gummies seem to be the most popular candy item in this sub. So, I’d like to see what everyone’s top 5 flavours are, if you’d like to share. They don’t have to be in order, either.

Mine:

Cola, bubblegum, cherry, apple and watermelon.

Honourable mentions go to pear and blackcurrant because they aren’t as common.

Chicken chocolate?!

I just bought this bar today, created by British chef Heston Blumenthal for his restaurant, The Fat Duck. Such an unusual combo, if I ever saw one. Almost looks like something Zotter Chocolates would create. (I’m using this screenshot because the bar won’t arrive to me for at least another month)

My order from Bon Bon Bon arrived today. They’ve released their spring collection, and the flavours sounded really good so I decided to buy some!

I’ve enjoyed two thus far and they are lovely.

Here’s some photos of what arrived. And also how the look. The 12 piece is a dark assortment and the 6 piece is a milk one.

Scroll through to see the flavours!
