Probably a controversial opinion, but Keller Kern is a far better park overall.
Rising Park is awesome for the mountain climb and the overlook, but Keller Kern offers more for people who want to be active. You’ve got trails, the climbing trail, disc golf, and some surprisingly great views.
Rising has the signature overlook, but their “trails” are mostly road. I guess the tennis courts are nice. Keller Kern just feels like a park for active people. Rising Park a good place to sit on a blanket and read a book.
I wish they were connected honestly. Ultimate super park.

Ohio just passed HB 173 — gutting the unanimous Supreme Court ruling that protected renters from sub-metering markups. Here's how to tell the Governor to veto it.
Two months ago, the Ohio Supreme Court ruled — unanimously — that sub-metering companies like Nationwide Energy Partners are public utilities, and have to be regulated like one (rate oversight, billing transparency, disconnection protections, the works).
The legislature just passed Substitute HB 173, which rewrites the law to declare these same companies not public utilities — dropping renters into a weaker, separate rule-book the industry helped write. It's the legislature overruling the court on behalf of the company that lost.
Who pushed for it: apartment developers who profit from the arrangement.
Who opposed it: all three actual electric utilities (AEP, Duke, AES Ohio), the Ohio Consumers' Counsel, AARP Ohio, multiple legal aid organizations, and even the Ohio Manufacturers' Association.
When everyone who delivers the power and everyone who pays for it is against a bill, and the only support comes from the people collecting the markup — that tells you who it's for.
It now heads to Governor DeWine. He can veto it. It takes two minutes:

Be brief and polite — say you're an Ohioan, you want HB 173 vetoed, and that it undermines a unanimous Supreme Court ruling protecting renters. Volume matters more than length.
I just wanted to give a shout out to Columbus Running Company. What a great local business.
I recently needed a new pair of running shoes after not running much for years. Now that I'm getting back into it, I realized how much running shoes have changed. I went to a few places and just bought shoes based on what looked cool. Turns out that's not a great strategy & not exactly a cheap mistake to make.
The folks at Columbus Running Company were awesome. There was absolutely no judgment. No making me feel bad because my running career has mostly consisted of saying, "I'm gonna start running again next week" for about five years straight.
They took the time to fit me properly, had me try on several different options, and explained the differences between the shoes & answered any questions I had. It made a huge difference!
The last pair of shoes I bought from them was around 2019, and they ended up being my favorite running shoes I've ever owned. I'm happy to see they're still providing the same great service all these years later.
Now that it's warming up outside and we're all pretending we're about to become healthier versions of ourselves, I'd highly recommend stopping in if you need running shoes.
I'll definitely be coming back, & honestly, I can't imagine buying my shoes anywhere else now. If you're new to Columbus and want to get active with all our green spaces. This is the spot to start. Cheers

I don't know who needs to hear this, but $50 isn't exactly life-changing in 2026. It doesn't even cover the decorations for most events. You might get a flag and call it a day.
The fact that someone thought "$50" would have people lining up says more about how out of touch they are than anything else.

Took this photo yesterday from the top of Mt Pleasant, while it was raining. I’ve never noticed the red roofed house, but it really stood out in the weather.
Anyone who lives in Ohio or the Midwest has seen or lives in a town like this. A bunch of fast food and grocery stores and if you want an office job that’s not in a hospital, the commute is an hour because the closest big city is exactly an hour drive if not more. A lot of car stickers on the back of people’s car and a lot of them stickers don’t make any sense. The “downtown” area is just abandon buildings that they never updated with a bunch of not successful small businesses and dive bars. A lot of strange people who got pregnant at a young age
Curious what people think about this.
We only have street parking & technically nobody owns the street, but there’s kind of a domino effect happening. The neighbors two houses down park their broke down truck (it never moves) in front of my neighbor’s house even though they have open spots in front of their own house. So now my neighbor now parks in front of my house.
What irritates me is there’s actually plenty of parking on our street. It’s not crowded at all, but because everyone keeps shifting spots around, I basically never have a convenient spot open in front of my house. So I now park in front of a neighbors across the street.
Am I being unreasonable for finding this annoying, or is this just normal street parking etiquette? If the dude would move his busted truck all would be restored.
