Hi everyone! I’m 26F looking for a perfume with beast mode projection for my wedding. Jasmine gives me a headache so I don’t like a jasmine note at all. I don’t want gourmands because it’s very hot where I’m getting married. Mostly looking for fresh perfumes. I can handle amber and oud in lower concentrations but too much of it gives me a headache. I recently reduced nusuk ajwa roses and loved it so I definitely love the litchi and rose combination. I am okay with fresh, floral and fruity fragrances. Even lactonic fragrances are fine if they’re not too sweet and gourmand. Thank you!

Hey guys! I’m getting married to an Iyer Tamil Brahmin. I know that the thaali (mangalsutra) must be tied during the muhuratham time. But is it necessary that the kanyadaan also happens in the muhuratham time? Because we are having a mixed wedding and our muhuratham is 1 hour long. My pandit says he’ll take 35 mins for the kanyadaan and doing that + changing the saree + tying of the thaali seems impossible in this time. My MIL is adamant that the kanyadaan must happen in the 1 hour muhurat. Looking for advice whether this is a norm in every Iyer wedding or something that can be worked around. I’m looking for advice specific to Iyer wedding because I understand that Iyer and iyengar weddings have differences. Help a girl out please!

I want people near me to smell me. I want to leave a scent trail behind when i walk. I also don’t do well with jasmine fragrances or anything too strong like Arabic perfumes. I love white florals (without jasmine), lemony scents and vanilla / gourmand fragrances and would want recommendations according to that. My budget is around 5-6k. Please help a girl out! Also, I’ve been hearing good things online about projection of lattafa fragrances, so if any of you know of any that work out, please let me know!

For context, I 26F North Indian and was brought up in the North and have zero context about how Tamil Brahmin marriages work. I’ve been dating my fiance (29M) for 4 years now.

My question is, is it not customary in Tamil Brahmin culture to give gold/jewellery to the DIL? Because as I’ve seen in the north, families would give gold ornaments to the DIL on the engagement/roka as well as on the wedding. My MIL made a huge deal about giving me jewellery on the engagement as I expected it since it’s customary in the north to do so. Even during the engagement, she kept insisting that they would only give me one saree. I expected more, since women in the north are generally given more clothes from the in laws side during the ceremony. The entire expense of the events are being paid by my parents.

She dosen’t seem to have any intention of giving anything as she’s not asked/called me to choose something, even though I ask my fiance to remind her since the wedding is near and travelling to their city would be a hassle if she suddenly decides to call me.

I don’t know if this is just general dislike for me as I don’t belong to Tamil Brahmin culture or the fact that it is not customary to give gold/clothes to the DIL during the wedding. She hasn’t hinted that she wants to give me anything. But at the same time, she’s always adding things to the list of things my parents are supposed to gift my fiance or the family. This includes clothes as well as several silver items.

Hi I’m planning to buy an Angad Singh lehenga. There are a lot of bad reviews about the brand being late with deliveries, so I wanted to buy through Pernia’s since that’s the only store available in my city and I can’t run to Delhi in case things go haywire. Has anyone bought from Pernia’s within India and faced issues? Including buying from the same brand as well as others. There seem to be a lot of bad reviews about Pernia’s on this sub but a majority of them are from people who have ordered outside India.
