Bubble gijinka

Now this was one of the harder characters for me to design compared to the others. Most Bubble gijinkas usually go for a more chubby build, which honestly does fit her nature, but I wanted mine to stand out a bit more from other interpretations.

What really inspired this design was a random comment I saw talking about how Bubble would probably be thinner as a human instead. That immediately gave me an interesting idea. Out of all the gijinkas I’ve made so far, I wanted this one to stay the closest to Bubble’s original object form and main characteristic: being fragile.

took me a while to figure out how to represent that until I came up with the translucent veil-like outfit. I felt it gave off that delicate feeling really well, almost like she could “pop” if she got hurt. I also incorporated swimwear into the design, not just because Bubble would obviously swim, but because it puts her in a more vulnerable position compared to the others. It also helped add more variety instead of just putting regular clothing underneath everything.

Even though I really like how the design turned out, I still feel like there are a few things I could improve or touch up later. Still, I’m really happy with what I managed to do, especially since this was by far the hardest design for me so far.

Now that Bubble is complete, it’s finally time to move onto the last character from the list: Barf Bag. I’m actually working on her right now, and honestly… she might end up being my favorite design yet. Can’t wait to show her tomorrow.

I’ll also start posting the times for future uploads so everyone can stay in the loop.

Two years goes by so fast (lengthy paragraph)

It’s officially the 18th now, which means the sub is finally 2 years old today. Honestly, it’s crazy how fast all of this has gone by.

I still remember when this place was way smaller, and now we’re somehow getting close to 1.5k members already. I genuinely didn’t expect the sub to keep growing this much after we hit 1k, so seeing so many new people join, post art, make discussions, and keep the community active has been really amazing to watch.

I also just wanna thank everyone here. This community has genuinely meant a lot to me personally. Without this sub, I’d probably just be some random person posting art somewhere else online. Being here helped me improve my art, meet a lot of cool people, and have a place where I actually feel appreciated.

And of course, huge thanks to Max Nova too, because without him this sub literally wouldn’t even exist.

So yeah, thank you everybody for helping this place become what it is today :)

Guys I forgor

I completely forgot the sub turned 2 years old six days ago somehow.

Sorry for missing the actual anniversary date, but I still wanted to make something for it because this sub has genuinely meant a lot to me over these few years. The anniversary art will be coming tomorrow instead, so hopefully it’ll still be a nice late celebration lol.

Out of these three which one would you like to see a gijika next?

This went pretty well last time since I mainly leaned toward more masculine designs. This time, though, I want to make the designs feel a bit more balanced compared to their usual interpretations, or at least make them interesting enough to stand out more. These were the main three characters that came to mind, and I’ll be trying to give them a slightly different direction while still keeping them recognizable.

Snowball gijinka!!!

So unlike the other two characters, Snowball was probably the easiest one to come up with. The main reason is because I borrowed a little bit from a lot of other designs since I feel like many of them already fit his character pretty well.

I think the main thing mine does differently is giving him a beard. Most BFDI gijinkas usually don’t give the male characters facial hair, and I wanted that to help him stand out more. It did end up making him look a bit like Santa Claus, but honestly I don’t really mind since it fits his color palette and overall vibe anyway. And if you’re wondering why he has white hair despite only being in his 30s, it pretty much just comes down to stressing his entire body.

Anyway, I’m gonna be doing another voting poll later, so stay tuned for the next characters that’ll be up for gijinka designs by me.

Why does every single young link player online do the exact same thing?

Genuinely, all they do is spam boomerangs and fire arrows, run across the map, and repeat that over and over again while constantly fishing for smash attacks. They literally do nothing the entire game, and then they teabag like they aren’t playing the lamest playstyle in the entire game. They’re not even that hard to deal with either they’re just a nuisance.

Cake gijinka

This was probably the gijinka I wanted to change the most compared to the usual interpretations. A lot of Cake gijinkas tend to go for femboy design , which isn’t bad at all, but most of them end up looking really similar to each other. I wanted mine to stand out more while still keeping some parts I liked, especially the fancy clothing since I always imagined Cake being one of the richest characters if he were human.

I also tried leaning him more masculine without making him hyper masculine, since I feel like that would completely ruin the design. The mustache was another important detail for me too his dad has one, so “like father like son” just felt fitting. Overall this was a really fun design to work on. What do you guys think?

Pillow gijinka

Decided to give Pillow a pose more similar to my other human recreations to keep her design language consistent. I also added more depth to the overall design by pushing the purple color palette further and adding a few pink accents here and there without overdoing them. I think the extra details and color balancing help the design feel a lot more cohesive overall.

The only thing I still feel a little unsure about is the hair since it looks slightly off in some areas, but honestly I don’t think it hurts the piece too much.

Yellow Face “Human”

This one was definitely the easiest to come up with compared to the other two, so I’m glad he ended up getting the most votes. I tried to make him feel human without making him too human, which is why I kept the yellow skin and removed the limbs entirely.

While I’m really happy with how the design turned out, I still feel like it needs some tuning up here and there, I’m just not fully sure what yet. Anyways, moving onto Cake next and trust me he’s probably gonna look VERY different from what most of you are expecting.

This was a fun piece to work on. I wanted to experiment more with geometry and angles to make the composition more dynamic, and I think it worked out pretty well. I’ve also got two more TPOT 5 pieces planned for later this month.
