Building the desk right side up.

Conventional way to assemble a standing desk is assembling the entire thing upside down the flip it. I understand it’s easier to work with that orientation.

Im about to build a 72” table and dont have a convenient person to help me flip it. Im thinking of assembling it by putting the top on the frame right side up then screwing it on, hence not needing to flip it.

is there anything wrong with this and/or do i need to consider anything special doing it in this orientation?

2 or 4 leg desk for short king with vertical stacked monitor setup?

I’m on the shorter side 5’4” so based on height alone I could get away with a 2 legged desk. However I have two 40” Dell monitors (U4025QW) that I want stacked center using a vertical mount like this. The monitors are like 17” tall so that top monitor is going to be floating ~20” above the desk surface at all times.

Anybody else have this setup? With the desk at 39-40” height, would the monitors, especially the top one, wobble significantly on a two leg desk? If so, would a 4 legged desk make a significant reduction in wobbling?

Rubberwood Special price increase?

I was researching desks earlier yesterday and recall the rubberwood being $99.99. I was going to pull the trigger today and buy what's in the cart but now it's $175. Am I crazy or was it $99.99? Was that a limited time missed out on by a day?! I don't recall seeing any indication that it was a temporary sale.

Any company guarantees a reasonable (2hr) delivery window 24hrs prior?

I'm currently a CookUnity customer. Our old condo building had a concierge that was nice enough to put our meals into the office refrigerator upon arrival - we never really had to worry about delivery logistics.

I never really appreciated this until the first few weeks in our new stand-alone home. We live in a very humid and hot area. We are forced to be cognizant of when the CookUnity meal is going to arrive to make sure it's brought in the house quickly before it spoils.

My issue is CookUnity doesn't really give us the estimated time of delivery until the morning of. Furthermore, it's not consistent - sometimes its 10:30AM, sometimes its 12PM...today its 3:30PM.

On delivery day, I feel like a prisoner for that day because I have no idea what time I need to be home until that morning. It makes it difficult to plan this day prior in the week. Somebody asked me yesterday if I wanted to see a movie at 2pm ...I dunno I'll let you know the morning of when I get the CookUnity email. As soon as I said this it dawned one me how asinine that is. And this happens every week. I'm going to stop using CookUnity for this reason.

Is there a service that can guarantee a consistent delivery time window every week? Like pretty much I want to tell the company you have to have it delivered before 12pm, if you can't deliver within that window cancel the order because I'm not going to sit around a prisoner in my own home after 12pm wondering if I can leave...and do that 1 day every week. Instacart does this pretty well with 2hr blocks of time.

Best SJ Sharks hats design(s)

I lost my two decade+ CCM hat in the ocean last weekend. What is your favorite officially licensed SJ Sharks hat? Doesn't have to be new, I'm willing to get some used, vintage ones on eBay or something.

LG 39GX950B-B vs Dell Ultrasharp U4025QW

For those that actually experienced using both of these monitors, which one did you prefer and why? I'm deciding between these two; budget is not an issue. Use case I'm more aligned with the Dell, but I would love to hear of any points/parameter I never considered.

Why does MTG have the most low baller buyers?

I sell all sorts of random stuff on eBay including MTG. Across all the TCG, sports and collectables, without a doubt MTG buyers are most time wasting and aggressive with low baller offers and wanting a deal. It's particular egregious on listing where there is "best offer" is disabled but despite this I get a DM asking if I'll take a lower price. At first I thought these were just bots but the immatureness and lack of proper English in their opening message makes me think otherwise.

This doesn't happen in my any other similar category of items like Pokemon or One Piece. You would think this would be more common with Pokemon at their current state...but I maybe received ONE DM in the last five years asking for a lower price for a Pokemon card. What is it about the MTG market culture that solicits this behavior?

Also I'm not looking for tips on how to handle it. I just ignore all these messages. I know this is just people low-effort spamming all sellers hoping to catch a score. It's not a problem for me, just an observation...but just notice its particularly bad in MTG listings.

EDIT: For those saying it's because MTG is primarily players and not collectors that is pretty solid logic. However, my MTG stuff is only 10-5 year old sealed boxes; I don't sell singles.

Parents with 3D Printers

As a noob that recently bought an x2d, I realized how spoiled my kids are that they can pick a new toy and have it printed by the end of the day, everyday. This would have blown my mind as a 90s child who had to wait for special trips to Toys R Us once a month to get a new toy.

Right now my youngest one thinks it’s an infinite toy maker. The older ones are more balanced and see it as a toy maker AND a tool; they have gotten interested in the learning/STEM aspects of how it works. I guess like everything else in-life with kids, a 3D printer can a useful learning tool but detrimental with excessive use.

I’m curious for the fellow parents out there, do you have any concerns or has it been an issue with your kids with regards to printing toys on demand? Do you regulate what and how often your kids can print toys?

In the last decade I have moved around the states and did a short stint in Winnipeg. For other NHL teams, I can recall a few times being in the vicinity of a local fan and hearing an off-color remark about a local player's ethnicity that happened to be a minority or biracial when they had a bad game or missed a play. A remark that would make a Bay Area Californian cringe. I was taken aback.

In my experience and on this sub, the fact that Mike Grier is a black American is rarely, if never mentioned by sharks fans. The fact that we criticize or praise Mike based on merit (moral character, effectiveness as a GM, hockey acumen, etc.) and leave race completely out of the conversation is a testament to our fan base. Often I forget he black at all....and is the first black NHL GM, which is a great accomplishment considering all documented racism he faced while in the league.

After experiencing other parts of the country, I have taken for granted how diverse and accepting the Bay Area is...

(EDIT: except u/DonBedarded70, as you will see in the comments below, is not very accepting at all. If you say "race" five times in the mirror he gets triggered and shows up to take away your 2nd overall draft pick

EDIT 2: Oh look he deleted his comments. Couldn't even be brave enough to standby what he believes.)
