Stairwell update—wall colors and dog-friendly stair ideas?

We’re wanting to create an overall “moody” vibe throughout the house, and we’d love to start by changing the wall color here.
What colors would you suggest that complement the wood and brass?
I’ve been loving the idea of a subtle textured finish

We’re removing the green carpet from the stairs and landing, but we have dogs who need traction, so bare wood alone won’t work.
Would you go with a stair runner, individual carpet treads, or something else?
And what would you use on the landing to make everything feel cohesive?

The second photo shows the type of stair construction we have. Would love to see photos if you’ve done something similar, especially with open risers!

Feet bleeding after grooming?

My boy got groomed a couple days ago and I just noticed the tops of his feet are all irritated and look like they’re bleeding. Im assuming it’s from razor burn which I know happens, but I’ve never seen this happen on any of my spoo’s. It’s on multiple feet. I feel so bad for him. What can I put on it to ease any discomfort/pain? (It doesn’t seem like they bother him but, not like he’d really be able to tell me lol)

excuse my toes

What is the very best sci-fi move or show on Netflix right now?

What is the very best sci-fi movie or show on Netflix right now? I need something new to watch because I’m heading on a 17-hour international flight and want something that will completely suck me in. It can be a series or a movie, as long as it’s genuinely worth watching. I’d prefer something that’s originally in English rather than dubbed, but if there’s an absolute must-see that’s dubbed, I’m totally open to it!

Adding a 3rd Standard: Talk me into it… or out of it!

My partner and I are looking for some advice from those of you who have three Standard Poodles.

Right now we have:
• Sasha: Female, she’ll be 7 in February.
• Atlas: Male, he’ll be 2 next month.

We’re considering bringing home another male Standard Poodle puppy at the end of this month as the breeder happened to have 1 puppy become available in her litter that had originally been all spoken for before the puppies were conceived. Reputable breeder, and both of his parents are AKC Champions.

A little about our current dogs:
Sasha is definitely the boss of the house. She can get jealous when attention is divided, and she’s pretty independent. Even though she’s almost 7, she’s still full of energy and acts like a puppy a lot of the time. She loves chasing, wrestling, and roughhousing with Atlas. She’s definitely the rough-and-tumble type.
Atlas is basically Velcro in poodle form. 😂 He’s much less independent than Sasha and wants to be with us constantly. He’s all go, all play, all the time. He’s incredibly sweet, a little awkward, and honestly kind of a softie. He loves playing with Sasha, but I don’t think he always loves how she plays because she’s so rough.

For some additional context, my partner works from home and I don’t work, so we’re home with the dogs pretty much 24/7 unless we’re traveling, we have an amazing sitter. We also have a very active lifestyle with them. We do lots of walks, hikes, swimming, play sessions, training, and enrichment, so they’d all get plenty of attention and exercise.

Our biggest question is whether this seems like a good time to add a third. On paper it feels like Sasha is still young enough to enjoy another puppy, and Atlas is young enough that he’d hopefully have a lifelong playmate as Sasha gets older.

For those of you who have three Standards:
How did the transition from two to three go?

Did your older dog enjoy having a puppy around?

Was it significantly more work than having two?

Based on our dogs’ ages and personalities, does this sound like a good fit, or is there anything you’d be concerned about?

We’re really trying to make the best decision for all of our dogs, so I’d love to hear honest experiences, both the positives and the challenges.

Found this cutie in my boyfriends hair in Fiji

Look at this cutie I just found in my boyfriend’s hair. Before we came to Fiji I was looking up if they have jumpers here but it was mentioned they’re rare to see/find. 2 days here and she (I think a she?) decided to show up. I relocated her on the lounger chair we were on and she hung out for a bit before carrying on her way! She has the cutest stinkin face & was super tiny

What plants do best indoors in Indiana?

I recently moved to Indiana from Florida and am coming to find some of my plants that flourished in Florida, I can’t seem to keep alive here in Indiana. I’m wanting to rebuild/expand my indoor garden space and am wondering which plants would do best in this climate? Less humidity, etc. and also maybe some tips on care for these in this climate.

My current plants are FLF, monsteras, ficus tineke (thriving!), pothos, philo birkin, philo white knight, philo Florida ghost (struggling baby plant), snake plants (thriving).

Thanks!

Need help finding the right converter for Panasonic Nanocare Ultimate EH-NC80-T (Japan to US)

I bought the Panasonic Nanocare Ultimate EH-NC80-T while in Japan and originally thought I’d just need a simple little plug adapter to use it in the US… clearly I underestimated the electrical gremlins involved.

I’m having a hard time figuring out exactly what type of converter/transformer I need. The dryer is 1200W and from what I understand, I think I need a 120V to 100V step-down transformer, probably around 1500W.

This dryer was almost $700, so “just buy another dryer” isn’t really the advice I’m looking for lol. I already own other dryers, but I specifically want to use this one.

The price of the converter honestly doesn’t matter as much as: safety/reliability, not damaging the dryer long term, being as “travel friendly” as possible.

I say “travel friendly” loosely because I already know none of these high wattage transformers are exactly tiny/lightweight, but I’d still love recommendations for the most compact/practical options people have personally used.

Has anyone here successfully used Japanese 100V hair dryers in the US long term?
Any specific transformer/converter products you’d recommend or avoid?

Would really appreciate any advice. Thank you 😊

I was cleaning my plant leaves before I noticed these so, unfortunately I had just sprayed all the leaves down with a mist spray bottle. It’s making it hard for me to tell if I can see mites bc of all the tiny water droplets from the mist bottle.

This plant had thrips about 8-9 months ago. I finally beat that battle. I just noticed these webs while cleaning leaves today. There’s the ones on the leaves and then there’s also cob web long looking webbing that stretched from one leaf to another. I tried to get a picture but it was tough. I don’t see any bugs or anything on the leaves from what I can tell. But thrips were the first pest I’ve dealt with so I just don’t know what to look for with spider mites. None of the leaves are yellow or anything.

Sits in an east window. Chunky soil. Just got back from Japan so hasn’t been watered in about 5 weeks until yesterday.

Thanks!
