E-Arrival Card with Health Declaration

Every arriving international passenger including Indian citizens now needs to submit an e-Arrival Card through the Air Suvidha portal. It’s quite a long form which includes health information, travel history especially Ebola affected countries, flight details, seat number, local address and contact details. This can be filled in up to 72 hours in advance, so it’s best to fill it up from the origin airport instead of before immigration in India.

Recommendations needed for Singapore AVA in Kolkata

As per the Singapore consulate website (see screenshot) there are only two AVA (Authorized Visa Agents) in Kolkata. Any advice or recommendations between the two? Strangely, Thomas Cook is shown for Haryana but not for Kolkata.

Raipur AIRR lounge

Tried to access the AIRR lounge at Raipur airport. The list of accepted cards (including a hand-written addition) is in the photos. As expected, there were not many people in the lounge.

Unofficial Petrol rationing?

Yesterday I went to fill Petrol at an Indian Oil outlet in Kolkata, where I’ve filled before but is not my regular outlet. As I usually do, I asked the attendant to auto-fill to full tank. He said that they’d been instructed not to fill for more than Rs. 2,500. I went to meet the manager, who said that those were the instructions. After I objected, they contacted the owner of the outlet, who said “if it is for a car, fill the tank, but note the vehicle number and phone number”. Has anyone else experienced this? Should I complain to IOCL?

TLDR: not allowed to fill my car tank, but later allowed after objecting and talking to owner.

I travelled from Mumbai to London and back in the last week of April 2026 (AI 129 and 130). I booked AI in early February first because of the vastly shorter duration (being direct), and because of the huge price difference. The horror stories on this sub-Reddit were scary. Then the gulf conflict started and I was thankful for choosing AI. As informed by many posts, so far the aircraft is the Boeing 777-300 ER. I was pleasantly surprised by the condition of the aircraft (not expecting new, but I only encountered a broken cup holder and a non-functional USB port. Seats weren’t broken, and the recline mechanisms worked fine. IFE system worked on both flights. In-flight WiFi was a surprise. The wash-rooms were quite clean, with the usual amenities. The flights started on time and arrived early (wow) (both directions). Staff were attentive and responsive. What didn’t work were the announcements (almost unintelligible) and the food. Especially outbound, the main meal was a big disappointment. Non-veg was not available, and the items were on par with a domestic flight. None of the items matched the menu (even veg) as shown in the AI app. Looking forward to the new equipment, and hoping that they improve the food and maintain their time performance!

Organic Khand. If the price is Rs.100.56/kg, Rs.181 should get 2 units at 900g each. But only ONE is given. That’s Rs.201/kg. Seller and CS don’t respond.

Earlier they used to give 2 units. Slyly they made it one- for double the price.
