I’ve been making epic metal and rock covers of iconic game soundtracks

If you grew up playing Street Fighter II, Command & Conquer etc, you’ll know how hard those soundtracks hit. I’ve spent the last few months making full metal covers of the tracks that defined my gaming childhood — Yoko Shimomura, Frank Klepacki, Mick Gordon — all given the full heavy guitar treatment.

I’m half way into my street fighter series at moment covering Ryu, Ken, Cammy, Guile, M. Bison and Akuma. Hell March 1 has been the biggest so far but the SF arc has been really well received.

No AI music, no samples, VSTs and live guitars recorded, mixed and mastered in logic - I’m not an expert but it’s been good fun.

I’m looking for ideas of games, films and anime to work on as future projects if you have any ideas let me know

I wrote an original Epic Metal track for Fourth Wing called "CHASE THE SKY" 🐉⚡

Hi everyone!

I produce orchestral metal covers and inspired tracks. I wanted to capture the intensity, the stakes of the War College, and the sheer power of the dragons, so I wrote an original metal song with vocals titled "CHASE THE SKY."

Written mixed mastered solo in Logic Pro using real guitars and VST instruments

I used Suno for the lyrics (I can’t sing!)

I wanted to share it with this community because I think it has a good “Fourth Wing” inspired vibe. It’s been a blast channeling the energy of the book into a full-blown metal track.

You can check it out here:

Let me know what you think—does this feel like a fitting anthem for the series?

I’ve been rebuilding the Street Fighter II soundtrack as a metal album — Ryu and Ken are live, Cammy drops tomorrow

I’m a guitarist and producer and I’ve been covering the Street Fighter II soundtrack as a full metal album — one track at a time, weekly releases. Ryu’s Theme and Ken’s Theme are already live, Cammy drops tomorrow at 16:00 UK, with Guile, M. Bison and more following weekly after that.

Yoko Shimomura’s compositions are genuinely some of the greatest pieces of music ever written for a fighting game. Every track has its own personality and translates beautifully to heavy guitar. Bison’s Theme in particular has been a labour of love — orchestral strings, crushing guitars and a less is more approach that I think really captures the menace of the character.

A few people have asked about the production — the music is entirely real. VSTs and Live guitar, programmed drums, bass, synths and strings all produced by me in Logic Pro. The thumbnails use AI generated artwork but every note you hear is performed and produced from scratch.

Full playlist here if you want to follow the arc as it builds:

Would love to know which SF II theme you’d most want to hear covered next. 🤘

Been working on this for a while.

Long time gamer, been obsessed with video game music since the 90s. Over the past few months I’ve been covering iconic game soundtracks on metal guitar — everything written, performed, recorded, mixed and mastered by me. No AI music, no samples, no shortcuts.

I use VSTs and Real guitars, real bass, real production.

Just finished the DOOM and Quake 2 arcs and I’m currently deep into a Castlevania arc — Vampire Killer and Dracula’s Castle are already live with more dropping every week.

Composers like Mick Gordon, Michiru Yamane and Kinuyo Yamashita wrote some of the greatest music ever made and I want to give it the metal treatment it deserves.

Would love to know what game soundtracks this community thinks deserve a metal cover — always taking suggestions.

Recently posted some cool tracks I’ve been making and putting on YouTube - Doom, Quake, CandC etc - I was chatting with a few people on here but the post got removed under the guise of it being AI. It’s not, I make all my music, mix and master it solo in Logic Pro.

Is there any way to get my post back?

Long time fan of the genre, been playing these games since the 90s and the soundtracks never left me.

Over the past few months I’ve been covering the DOOM Eternal and Quake 2 soundtracks on metal guitar — everything written, recorded, mixed and mastered solo. Just wrapped up both arcs with full playlists.

Mick Gordon and Sonic Mayhem’s work translates really well to metal guitar — At Doom’s Gate and Hell March were personal highlights to record.

Just started a Castlevania arc too if that’s your thing.
Would love to know which boomer shooter soundtracks you think deserve the metal treatment — always looking for what the community wants to hear next.

Playlist links in the comments if anyone wants to check it out.

Hey everyone! I’ve started a new YouTube playlist where I’m doing metal covers of Castlevania tracks.
There are only two songs so far, but I’m dropping one new cover every week.

I’d love to hear what tracks you want next — Divine Bloodlines, Clockwork, Dance of Illusions, anything obscure — hit me with your favourites.
