ROG3 and ROG1- Before and After

I am not affiliated with the company but wanted to show some before / after pics after I commented on this stuff in another post.

My tub (Kohler cast iron, anti-slip bottom) was dirty but nothing I used would get it clean (bleach, foaming cleaner, etc.). I did not try anything abrasive (like Comet) as that will take off the anti-slip coating. The company sells pads which will not scratch or damage.

I found a YT vid of a review of this stuff and figured I would give it a try. The pics are from the first time I used it. Was amazing how easy it was to clean. Took about 20 minutes and minimal effort. The instructions call to spray the blue stuff, let that sit, then use the white stuff (an abrasive similar to barkeepers friend). Results speak for themselves.

I hate the cost but love the product!

Non-ferrous blade for miter saw

I'm cutting a track saw rail and plan to do so on my 12" DeWalt miter saw. In the future I will likely cut some other thin aluminum like LED channels

I've narrowed it down to these two blades. Any preference or others I should be shopping?

Track Saw Rail: Cutting the 106" for custom smaller sizes

I bought the 106" track and am planning to buy the 55". I came across this review on HD and it seems to make a lot of sense.
Thoughts?

ByHomeDepotCustomer,March 2, 2026

...Although this review is for the 106" I would rate the 31" and 55" lower, and that brings me to the reason why I purchased a second 106". The saw really needs about an extra 5" of track on either end of the work. The 106" is perfect for 8' stock (96+ 5+5=106). However, the 31" and 55" are really too short, assuming use on 24" and 48" material (24+5+5=34) and (48+5+5+58), causing the saw to overrun the track. So, I purchased a second 106" and cut my own 34" and 58" tracks out of it, which is what I would recommend. My custom sizes on the left of the photo, with the Milwaukee sizes on the right.

Is everyone playing hooky today?

My normally crowded train. Next time everyone is ditching work let me know!

On a side note, the lack of people made the commute much more enjoyable.

Tracksaw Rail Clamp Question

I'm a total noob to track saws but just got the M18 along with the 106" rail. Rail was strait which is good (measured against my strait edges).

I wanted to get track clamps but I have these BOW clamps (BOW Products T-Track Clamps - Hold Down Clamp for XT XTENDER Fences) which I got for my BOW extender fence for my table saw.

They fit perfectly in the track slot but AI is telling me they are not compatible. Can anyone advise if these are good to go or should I get a dedicated track saw clamp?

DS218+ Volume set to Read Only after 7.4 DSM upgrade

Trying to do the right thing, I installed the recommended 7.4 DSM on my DS218+. After it rebooted, volume 1 (my only volume) is now read only with an exclamation point (!).

The drives show as healthy.

I called Synology and they said my only option is to back up the data, remove the volume, then reinstall the volume and copy it back. Since I do not have a 5 TB backup drive, was wondering if I had any other options.

The NAS was working perfect before I did the upgrade.

2831-20 Track Saw with No Included Blade?

I bought a refurbished track saw from FAO on eBay (authorized dealer). Saw looks brand new but no blade.

I then went to Waysource (another authorized dealer) who had a new one for $90and they said there is no indication on the box if the blade actually comes with the saw and suspects it may be a "newer" model which does not include it. They said all the other saws previously had it.

On HD.com it specifically lists the blade is included. On Milwaukee's site it is not listed as included (but does not say it isn't either).

Since I'm looking at $40 - $50 more for a blade I want to check to see if anyone recently got a track saw from other than HD and if it came with the blade?

Thanks!

Rinsing: Hose vs. Pressure Washer

I have a small Karcher electric pressure washer that I use for foaming the vehicles. I typically rinse with one of those "fire hose" nozzles on my garden hose as I get a lot more volume than the pressure washer.

Problem is when I rinse with a pressure washer it takes much longer. I saw the "Keav" nozzle but my pressure washer is restrictive and likely would not work.

Since I am now doing a pre-wash with the foam, rinsing, then a second application of foam then contact washing, I'm looking if anyone has advice for me rather than connecting the PW, disconnecting, connecting again, then disconnecting.

Thanks!

Jones Beach Air Show Practice on Friday, July 3rd?

I'm debating going to the air show practice run on Friday.

This year a lot of people will have off. I'm looking for any advice such as:

  • How early do I get there?
  • What's the bathroom situation like?
  • I heard there are shaded areas like benches. True?
  • Can I carry a big cooler with ice / non-alcoholic drinks?
  • Can I carry a regular rain umbrella to protect from the sun?

I should note I do not do well in the sun and heat, but figure this will be something I can cross off my bucket list.

Thanks!

Camera Coverage for the Sides of the Vehicle

I recently got a 2026 QX80 which has built in 360 cameras. Unfortunately the dash cam feature only covers front and back.

Someone parked next to me and slammed their door into mine (damaging my PPF as well as denting the door). My cameras didn't capture it.

Is there any solution aftermarket to have cams which cover the sides of the vehicle? I would like to be able to at least go after the next person if this happens again.

Thanks!

First time I had my monthly scanned

I’ve been a monthly ticket holder forever. Since the new rules went into effect, I’ve never had them scan it - until recently on a new train I’m taking.

My understanding is that it is activated one time and remains active (as evident by the green “activated” banner). Once a conductor (either on the train or at the entrance) sees it’s a monthly they just wave me by.

I notice when I open it on the train the chevrons appear for a split second before disappearing. Last thing I want are surcharges due to a bug.

Has anyone else had their monthly scanned? Any worries about charges after the initial activation?
