An Alternative (for me) for Rosicrucian Orders

For the longest time, I've been trying to find a Rosicrucian Order that fits me and my mental and spiritual make up so to speak. I've joined nearly every single order and for some reason none of them ever fully clicked for me. I've posted here a few times that ultimately, I am not trying to learn about auras, manifesting my desires, telepathy, clairaudience, psychic practices etc. I just want to be closer to God, become a better person and more peaceful inside. That's when I stumbled across an old book I ordered a long time ago, that I don't think I was ready for yet.

It's called A Search for God (Books 1 & 2) by Edgar Cayce. I don't think its actually by Cayce himself, but students of his who essentially created 24 lessons based on his writings. This book is everything I have been searching and asking for. Every lesson feels highly inspiring and I walk away feeling more at peace even just by reading the book. I always appreciated the monograph systems of the different Rosicrucian Orders, and I like that this is sort of a similar lesson plan style as well. It's not exactly systematic and doesn't need to be followed in a particular order, but I just personally like how its structured.

It's very Christ centered so I don't think everyone will love it, but I will say its definitely not ultra orthodox. Cayce taught karma and reincarnation, so I think a lot of people will feel right at home. It also speaks a lot about "Christ Consciousness" and that idea has sort of always resonated with me.

"Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus" - Philippians 2:5

All in all, I just wanted to share this book with everyone especially for those who are looking for more mystical and less occult style teachings, and are just trying to be closer to God and become a better person.

Let me know what you guys think if any of you have read it, or are willing to check it out!

EDIT: Wanted to make an edit for a list of the lesson or chapter titles in the book to get an idea of what the book is about, in case anyone is interested.

Meditation, Cooperation, Know Thyself, What Is My Ideal?, Faith, Virtue and Understanding, Fellowship, Patience, The Open Door, In His Presence, The Cross and the Crown, The Lord Thy God is One, Love, Opportunity, Day and Night, God the Father and His Manifestations on Earth, Desire, Destiny of the Mind/Body/Soul, Glory, Knowledge, Wisdom, Happiness, Spirit and one last Meditation.

Why aren't Christians pro contraceptive?

To preface, I am not a Christian, but I had this shower thought the other day. Why aren't Christians more open to being pro contraceptive in society? My line of thought is that I don't think its morally equal to prevent a birth than to abort a fetus or child. And while in a perfect society of course people would marry and only have sex with the ones they love, but in this society and fallen world, I think it makes the most sense to at least say contraceptives while not perfect are a better option than aborting babies, or bringing them into a world where the parent cannot raise them properly due to financial issues, or not both parents being around etc.

I genuinely hope this doesn't cause a flame war, I am genuinely curious and had this thought in the shower the other day and would be interested in getting peoples perspectives.

Guru Nanak alone?

Is there any form of Sikhism that essentially follows only the teachings of Guru Nanak and not the teachings of the later gurus?

Stripped down AMORC

I've had this thought recently that I wonder if one has, or is possible to essentially strip AMORC down to its most essential daily practices, and strip out all the ancillary exercises and such. If one is to just simply commit to the daily practices of AMORC, what might that look like? If I'm not mistaken, they are:

Liber 777 Meditation

Liber 888 Healing Meditation

Intoning Vowel Sounds

Are there any others I am missing?

An unorthodox way to use the internet less or not at all

Something I’ve been doing lately and it sounds kind of strange but you just gaslight yourself into thinking these things don’t exist. YouTube? Whats that? Reddit? Ive never heard of it. Internet on your phone? That’s strange. It sounds absolutely silly and stupid but it helps me actually. What do you think?

Supplements to mimic the benefits of exercise?

Okay, now I completely understand that nothing can ultimately fully replace exercise. However, I had this thought recently that unfortunately there are a lot of very sedentary people in this day and age sitting at their desk and barely moving as much during the day. I'm trying to think of a stack that might mimic the benefits of exercise for a sedentary person. Maybe some circulation, lipids, endothelial benefits? Or what do you guys think?

Oppo pad mini…WOW

If you’re looking for the best android tablet there is look no further. I got the matte 12gb version and wow. The smoothest nicest tablet I’ve ever used. No weird Google Play issues, everything is buttery smooth. I don’t ever plan on gaming I just wanted something seamless and iPad like. I would say this is better than an iPad hands down having had a mini before. it’s definitely expensive but I think this is a peak mini tablet that you won’t need to change for a very very long time. Run don’t walk if you’re looking for the best tablet on the market now !

I got to be apart of what I think was the most intense cultural Thai experience there is

My girlfriends uncle unfortunately passed away and I was invited to his funeral.

It was a 3 day ceremony and on the 4th day we got to spread his ashes in the ocean on a boat.

It was beautiful and amazing and so sad to see their family pour their heart out for this man. I felt extremely emotional even though I only got to meet him one time. My heart ached for the family, and I feel closer to Thai culture than I think I could ever be otherwise.

The Buddhist ceremony and temple was incredible, and death I think is treated with much more dignity and respect here than it is where I am from in America.

I feel even emotional typing this out. I love and respect Thailand so much and please hug and love your family while they are still here. ❤️

DTV 2nd 90 day Check in Question

Hey there, had a quick question I'm wondering if anyone can help me out. So I am on the DTV visa, and did the first 90 day check in in person no problem. Now, my 2nd 90 days is coming up, but I have to leave the country to get my passport restamped. I will probably go a few weeks before the 180 days. How does the 2nd 90 day check in work? Do I need to notify anyone? Or when I come back, just do the check in 90 days later again? Thanks for your help!
