Modern Golden Age Joker Writing, Amirite?
maybe it's just my intuition or the fact i only just got into these comics, but why does it feel like the way most modern writers write "golden age" joker was the result of cherrypicking from 3 out of context panels?
like, from what i’ve seen of the crazy clown's earliest incarnations, he wasn’t super flashy, but he also wasn’t dead-to-rights serious either:
(it's worth noting this spawned from watching caped crusader clips on twitter, but geoff johns did that too an' i'm pretty grant called back to the golden age that way also)

Something I did way back when
everytime scott pilgrim has a pop-culture resurgence, more people show up to clown on his dating pool

I had a vision (art by moi, obviously)
(is it worth remissing this was based off my conclusion that sonic is a lot like zooey deschaniel's character in 500 days of summer?)

Is there a writer's reason why Geoff Johns made Green Lantern's Non-Lantern Corp enemies so freaky? (GL 2006, #4+5)
(and there's only like, 2 of them too, afaik)
