If someone were to leave after X amount of years from RTX, then realize the grass is not always greener on the other side and decide to come back X amount of years later. Does everything reset from scratch again? Like PTO, years of service, severance package if you are let go in future…etc.
Scenario is for those with 10+ years of experience and then decide to come back let’s say 1-2 years later…
Anyone have experience working at the BAE Systems Austin facility? Looking for any feedback, job stability and layoffs, work culture, neighborhood, dealing with security clearance stuff….etc.
Reading online makes me think there is no way someone can get interim secret clearance approved if they are dual citizenship (even friendly country) while having foreign contacts (just parents and siblings) living abroad, and traveling there regularly.
I feel like I’m screwed already or about to enter stressful situation in a new job since I am highly likely to get denied the interim one…. Would employers let you go then? Or they will be obligated to wait until final decision?
What can I do to increase chances in this situation for getting interim approved?

About to make a life changing decision to move entire life from PNW area to Austin for job offer. Been in PNW for 20 plus years so well established here for job and friends (I.e., comfortable).
Austin reason is to be closer to family in Texas (although none in Austin). Separately I’m tired of the rain and gloomy weather (i don’t mind heat), and housing affordability would be better.
How is life there in comparison? Good neighborhoods? I got toddlers about to start school so looking for good school districts locations plus affordability nice new construction homes. New work would be North Austin (I.e, Pflugerville, round rock, that kinda area).
Any help or feedback is appreciated or help me make a decision. Basically I have fear of new job pressure along with lots of new in a non comfort area.

Anyone jumped to BAE systems recently for hardware engineer role or anything really? They got nice new sites different places in the US and bunch of new work coming…(Austin, New Hampshire…etc). Seems to be very comparable to RTX.
Debating between ‘comfortable’ setting where I am at vs taking a leap of faith to new things and slightly higher salary (15 percent or so more) also in a cheaper cost of living area.
Really hard decision for family reasons so kinda stuck and appreciate any feedback.

I know you can only get rewarded for 3 journeys per quarter, but does the timing of starting that journey make a difference?
I started some journeys in Q1 and it finished in Q2. I did not get credit for those. Does that mean I have to fully start it and finish it within the quarter? Can I retake that journey or it’s basically messed up now and I need to find another journey?

Why does a family of 4 including toddlers have to pay ~$1400 just to choose seats!!! We already spent $$$& to afford a trip, and then you don’t let us pick seats! I’m not wanting a fancy seat, I just want the seat I paid for in my class, and to sit next to my children as a family!!
The trip booked is 1 stop so there is 4 planes total round trip. You have to pay for every single seat per person per flight! So you do the math!!
If I I don’t, then I have to wait till 24 hours before flight, and then beg the airlines or other passengers to switch seats so I can sit next to my family!
Why??!! This is inhumane service
